I think the Multistrada V4S cruise is tied into the lean angle sensor - it applies a slowing of the bike when leaned to a certain degree to ensure traction. This is most likely why the Tracer slowed on cruise in the corners. Of course it may also could have been because you were bunched up in corners, being on a press ride and all. Anyway, always a good review, Motobob. 👍🏼

I have to smile when I hear anybody saying "Too much tech...nanny features" etc. When I was very young, back in the 1970s, we had a motorcycle meet-up every August & truly ancient stuff would turn up. One was a pre-WW1 Norton (I think) that had fuel mixture & spark advance controls. The equally ancient owner could be heard lambasting "modern bikes" & how riders don't need auto-advance & carburetors that give the correct fuel/air ratio at all times "if they know how to ride....what're you going to do when it breaks?" Etc etc etc.

@@jatinthakur3491no matter how tall screen you get, the wind management is bad on the tracer. I know,i own one. Installed 3 screens untill now. The issue is that the front cowling is to low mounted, and to narrow. And tje windscreen mounting flexes alot with a big screen...only viable option is madstead, but that is ugly as well and expensive

I've just done 500 miles over a little under two weeks, mix of moorland an motorway riding on mt09 GT (no cruise control), it's a very easy bike to ride and comfy too, plenty of grunt and a joy to ride on the twisty roads, it's pretty tall and heavy to drag around your garage or car park but other than that 👍👍😃😃😉

I already have a 900GT and I'm totally fine with the bike I have so for me there is no point in upgrading to the current spec but if Yamaha launched a Tracer 1000 based on the CP4 I'd be first in line. Now that would be a smashing bike with all this tech!

I'm not at the stage of getting a touring bike yet, but starting to consider it. I think this is an all round great package, except for the upright seating position. I suffer from periodic lower back pain. Sitting upright on an office chair, dining chair or car seat causes too much compression and I struggle to stand up and walk around afterwards. I have a 2022 Tracer 9 GT, it is a brilliant motorcycle. Before I made the purchase I did research and looked at the Tiger 900 GT Pro, Kaw SX1000 GT, Suz GSX1000 GT+, BMW F900, Suzuki VStrom, and The. Kaw Versus. The Kaw SX1000 and Suzuki GSX+ are great motorcycle but the insurance costs are very high. From a performance standpoint, I think the Tracer is better. The one motorcycle that I was torn between is the Tiger 900 GT Pro. I think Triumph makes one of the best motorcycles on the market. The Tiger 900 is nicely equipped. I ended up choosing the Tracer 9GT. In reality, I am not going to be doing the " Long Way Around" trips anytime soon. The performance, safety features, cruise , heated grips, and pillion bags as standard plus yamaha dependability you can't go wrong. It is a great sport cruiser that you can crush a lot of miles on it.

I’d stick with the gt , to many gimmick’s ( driving aids ) taking over the enjoyment if riding the bike , been riding 51 years , cruise control ( you learn to stop every 100 miles approx , top up bike , have a break ) used to doing 500 mile trips in a day . Keeping your distance etc , you’ve got eyes to keep your distance ( defensive driving technique) , car pulls into the gap in front, slow down . Abs and traction control is all you need , go on advanced driving courses etc 😊😊👍👍👍

Can you guys just please shut off for once and let the people buy and ride whatever they want and shove your elitism somehwere with no sun light access?

I have the Tracer 9GT. It's a great bike - I don't mind the twin TFTs, but the windscreen is awful. I've tried two alternatives and still not completely happy. The bottom line is that even though I love the bike the finish is poor quality. Despite cleaning and ACF50 some components look bad after just one winter. Yamaha wouldn't entertain my warranty claim (dealer supported) and said they can't take into account road salt. Well, my five year old Triumph was still like new. Unacceptable. As for the GT+, I think it's far too expensive and definitely not worth the extra money.

I wouldn’t recommend for 2 up. - It does have adjustable suspension however rear is still manual adjustment. - Radar is a nice idea but I find it useless as it takes away from the fun of riding and being of control. Wind protection. I didn’t ride it so I can speak to it but based on looks it doesn’t look adequate for highway riding. Could be wrong here. - TFT looks busy. I’m a function over form guy.

Ah sorry, but it is definitely not an adventure tourer. It IS a Sport tourer. Yamaha made it as such. It Is not designed for off road. You can convert it, sure. But it is built to be a Sport tourer. Yamaha's adventure tourer is the Tenere.

Crazy how this has too much tech while their middleweight (MT07 and XSR700) barely have anything aside from ABS. They at least should add traction control, slipper clutch, or even a better suspension to these aforementioned bikes for the price they are sitting rn.

Funny how reviews kinda miss big points. So here goes:still a crappy seat, sloped forward, and you end up hitting the jewels to the tank. Do not bother with the comfort seat, still crap, and way to expensive for crap. Windscreen still crap, wind protection is a hit and miss on the tracer. Buffeting, and the windscreen mount to flimsy,if you install a tall screen,it will bend from the mouting. And you compare the bike with the big boys. Sorry, not just, yeah,it is cheaper but can t compare spec to spec to the big boys in the class. Nice screen, adaptive cruise is cool only for commuting or riding on bigger roads,i can live without it,most of us can. Same brakes as the gt,but linked now. Linked is nice. But the brakes, you say are good, well,i beg to differ. They are just enough, but not great. Semiactive still only dampening, and manual preload. But the suspension is bad. Can t really adjust preload with real measurements as the bike is not rolling, so if you do a semiactive suspension,do it all the way. Still only 2 settings? Difference is little between the 2 settings. No other adjustmens. So,i would gladly pay 17k euro for a tracer ,but with better brakes, suspension, and screen. It just feels they gave it some gizmoes, and increased the price by alot. So,i will gladly keep my tracer 9 gt, not upgrade to the +. Not worth it. To be honest, i would br better off getting a tracer 9 , when they give it the dash. Add qs and heated grips. Buy aftermarket sidecases and topcase, and do a full suspension upgrade ,with professional setting. That will get you a better bike😊

And these are design mistakes that should have been solved for the next generation, + model. And it got sooo expensive compared to 3 years ago... I will just pay 3k extra and get the tiger 1200 gt,then to buy the +.

radar is vastly overrated..... who wants to sit in traffic droning on behind whatever is in front....... cut through the pack and get out into clear road, never sit in traffic relying on tech that makes you part of the traffic jam. i had a KTM 1290S, i tried it, turned it off, its not the wunder tech its touted to be. EDIT: are you seriously relying on radar to stop you getting too close to whats in front????
