    What's unbelievable about this instrument is how much more huge it sounds in person, in front of it.

    Pity I was born poor. if I'd have been rich, i'd have bought all these classic synths I drooled about in magazines. Great demo. Thank you for sharing.''Hey Buddy?, can you share a dime?.''

    This video helped influence me to buy an SK30. Such a great demonstration of what this synth stringer can do. I've had mine for almost 2 weeks but I'm finding all the sounds and tricks displayed in this video as I go along. Thank you for sharing

    Really enjoy about 11:00 on where the Monosynth comes in and especially~12:00 with Monosynth/Organ combined. Sounds so much like Emmerson Lake & Palmer. I'm currently resurrecting one of these, can't wait to get it back together!

    @@glenesis very slow.. I've replaced 3 slider pots for the monosynth, traced down a cracked solder joint, replaced the monosynth's LFO Chip with a new one (very expensive lil guy!) and now I'm down to a distortion problem at the mixed output. Solo outs are clean, but the ensemble effect in mixed out has distortion somewhere.. might be a bad cap. I work a lot of hours and its hard to put time into it lately. But it has come a LONG WAY since I first got it!

    @@Synthetech I'm glad to hear that it's coming along! It going to be totally worthwhile. This thing is FAT! I mean there's a richness in it I've never heard in a synth before.

    You know what? Many Japanese synths of this vintage sound too clean. I own a 2 manual SK50D and somehow it does not seem to sound as good as the SK30 in your video. I think that the low audio quality and distortion actually make it sound less well behaved and therefore much more organic. So the ultimate SK tip is probably to dirty it up a bit! The SK 30 also has the advantage that you can layer all the sections together, for instance the mono an poly synth. On the SK50D these are tied to different keyboards, which is a bit of a bummer.

    Exactly! There is something in the combination of the effects, the room acoustics and the low fi recording which adds a bit of special magic. Normally this instrument sounds a bit too well behaved.

    Yes it is a beast! My apologies for the bad recording, the output was distorted due to recording it directly from camera's microphone. I'm working on getting a better setup to record for the videos.

    Damn, Nadir, I just played all your tracks on Soundcloud and it again confirms how talented you are. I never dreamed they could prog so hard in Bahrain. :-). In the 90ties an 2000's I owned a prog rock lalel called L'abraDor Records. I would have sent you a contract! By the way: Weren't we in contact before by email? If we where I cannot remember connencting you to this great SK30 demo video, to which I keep returning time and time again. Great Stuff! I see you now own a CS70M. I'll sureley have a watch / listen to that video as well. It can only be jummy! :-)

    Wow, there's an albums worth of ideas here just noodling. Great prog vibes and some synergy sounding stuff in there too. I was thinking about getting an SK20 as I lack a string machine, but it's bigger brother is looking very enticing as well.

    @@nadersharif A beautiful SK30 just arrived in the mail today! I think it's got an issue with the organ tremolo, and the top four drawbars don't seem to do anything, but other than that it works and sounds great! I'll fix those issues once I'm done having my fun for today.

    Do you know how these compare to the Korg Polysix?

  • @nadersharif

    @nadersharif

    3 жыл бұрын

    This is completely different than korg polysix. Polysix is a 6 voice polyphonic synth capable of sharing the voices for one sound at a time. The SK30 has 4 sections organ/strings/poly/mono and you can combine all 4 sections together.
