The Yamaha RX100 was the go-to bike for two-wheeler enthusiasts back in the 80’s and early-90s. Back then, the Yamaha RX100 not only set a benchmark for two-stroke motorcycles but also single-handedly changed people’s perspective towards motorcycling.
The Yamaha RX100 was launched in November 1985 and the company kept manufacturing it until March 1996. The government’s decision to pull the plug on all two-stroke motorcycles ended of the Yamaha RX100's reign in India. But the success story carries on even today
The RX100 was the result of Yamaha going back to the drawing room after the RD350 failed to light up the market. But even Yamaha couldn’t have anticipated the outcome of their radical approach, making the Yamaha RX100 the legend it is today. The best example of this is that enthusiasts are still willing to handover hefty amounts of money in order to own a well-maintained example of the RX100.
The Yamaha RX100 was powered by an air-cooled, 98cc, single-cylinder, two-stroke motor that produced 11PS @ 7500rpm. Power was sent to the rear wheel via a 4-speed gearbox. The company also claimed a 0-60kmph time of 7.5 seconds. Furthermore, the Yamaha RX100 was not only reliable but affordable as well, making it accessible to many. The performance and reliability factor made it a winner in the eyes of enthusiasts. In fact, the Yamaha RX100 became one of India’s best-selling two-stroke machines, until it was replaced with the RX-G.
The part that makes us spring with joy are the rumours of Yamaha reviving the RX100, but with a four-stroke engine instead. However, our excitement levels have dimmed down as there has been no official confirmation from Yamaha as of yet. So, till we get a solid confirmation on its comeback, we can only wait and anticipate that the RX100 will once again revolutionise the Indian two-wheeler commuter segment. TVS Victor now competes with Yamaha RX

2:18 disagree on that, Many RX 135's with catalytic converter exhaust gives around 40-45kmpl when ridden sensible! Well 50kmpl is possible with pure stock RX 135 with RDD cdi and proper ignition timing, a guy on forum had also achieved it long back. RX 135 is a silent rocket 😌!

Exactly bro. Even my RX135 4speed bike with 5speed block, head, cdi and 4speed carb giving me 40 plus... its all about tuning the bike properly... if i get RDD CDI then i am sure my bike will be giving around 50 KMPL.... please let me know if anybody have RDD 90/100 kit or RDD CDI for sale.... Thank you.

@@darshanhiremath8008 yeah i am aware of that i have bought already one kit for my friend and using for last few months... the kit is doing well well till now. but along with it i wanna give a try RDD 90/100 Lighting kit or RDD CDI as well. as i have read alot about the RDD CDI. Please let me know if you have any RDD kit for sale... Thank you.

@@ankitkumar-eb7hn Go ahead to RDDreams Facebook page, there you will get Ron who is the maker of RDD cdi have a chat with him and order it. I guess he stopped making 90/100 kit. He only makes RDD cdi on demand.

There is no increase/decrease in mileage if you change to stock or expansion chamber. It's just in the minds of the people. A good rx with chamber will get you atleast 28-30. You get a chamber and you get the cylinder ported then you'll see the decrease in mileage.

@@SpeedyLio I've got two ported 5 speeds one ported 4 speed (drag race bike) , a stock 4 speed and a 89 rx 100. I've tried a couple of chambers , two from Indonesia too and i have a sur and a locally made chamber too. My stock 4 speed has a krp exhaust chamber gives a mileage of 30 with/without stock exhaust. It all depends on the ports and carb. If you need a good chamber I'd suggest you go for KRP, Stw racing or sur anyday.
