    Excellent video on this tremolo...the most complicated bridge I have ever worked with. About 3 years ago I took one of mine apart, and sawed the arm coupling off with with a hacksaw, as the non original arm was sloppy and I decided to replace it with a push in OFR type. The hole in the baseplate worked fine with the OFR's diameter once that section of the block was removed. The other very odd thing about this bridge is that they are not all mounted with the same spacing for the posts....I have two. The Pacifica 921 I have is mounted at 80mm, the 1221 at 74mm and a floyd will drop right onto the 1221's posts and in the route....not so on the 921. If it's set at 80mm good luck finding a floyd that will fit in there. GE199T which has that flat knife edge for variable spacing is too big for the route.

    I'd love to say they are the same but I have never owned a guitar with the rm pro. However, due to the amount of guitars I have I can tell you that yamaha has a basic design that makes it so you can swap necks from 3 4 5 6 7 8 series rgz rgx and yg models so I'd be willing to guess any bridge that fits one guitar will fit another. I have a tremolo on one that has the ibanez stamp on it but it's make by takuchi in Japan so ibanez yamaha Jackson etc all used these trems in the 90s.

    Hi, great video ! I recently buy an RGZ 621 with the same tremolo system, but the last owner lost the trem-bar. Do you know any compatible alternative ? Thank you !

    They are pretty standard for Jackson, Ibanez lo pro and many other companies used the same term parts. 95% of all the guitars I've bought never came with the arm either so the struggle continues lol

    Is this 80 mm mount standard is 74mm hard to find a compatible without having put in rod dowel and re drilling the mounting points.

    Some of them are mounted at 80mm and others 74. Depends on the guitar.

    I can’t tell but it looks like there is a metal ferrule that grips the trem arm when it pops in, located under the threaded thumb screw nut. Mine seems to be missing that piece and the trem arm is loose and rattles around. Any ideas on how to find a replacement?

    Hi there -- I have Pacifica 1221, and I often upgrade trems with hardened steel fasteners. Would you happen to know the size of the block screws? It looks like an M3 to me, but I am hoping to know before I need to tear the trem down. Thanks!

    I should probably get a screw gauge one day so I'll know as well. Best I can tell you is the Japanese parts are fairly standard. However, if you know anything about yamaha guitars they love making the same guitar with 5 different trems. I have no idea why they did this other than to maybe feel out what worked long term and what the public liked the most. Best trem is the RM pro II. But the TRS pro is almost the same just without the locking features. I didn't understand it at first but the RM Pro II really is genius

    @chromaticmusic well, it costs very little to buy a fewM3 and M4 screws. Once I get around to tearing down the trem, I'll try to post what everything is.

    is it a double locking tremolo? how good is it staying in tune?

  • @chromaticmusic

    @chromaticmusic

    11 ай бұрын

    Yes, it's a double locking from the stand point of it locks the saddles down so they can't slip forward. I block all my tremolos for the most part because I like being able to detune without issues and I also really don't use the tremolo to perform. I do like having fine tuners so I'm cool with the tremolo style but block it

    @@chromaticmusic So it doesn't block strings at the saddle like Floyds?

    @rezakhan8290 it's no different than any Floyd rose as far as how it locks the strings, it just has some added features
