Yamaha R1 VS Lots Of Traffic On The Nordschleife! (30-4-23)
Ойын-сауық
(30-4-23) Was a busy day at the Nordschleife. After the whole track was closed for 2 hours it finally opened up again. So I went for some laps. But unfortunately not a pb attempt. But it was still fun to ride and learn more about the track!
SIDE NOTE: (The laptimer is that people can see that my video is NOT fast forwarded. Not for speed time recording*)
Will be back soon!
Bike: Yamaha R1 2021

It's actually easier than doing at 30kph. Motorcycles the faster they go, the more stable they are. Unless you hit something in front of you, over 200kph is almost impossible to crash out of a Motorcycle, it's incredibly stiff at those speed due to huge giroscopic effect.

oh, i see. but taking a hand off the bike mid corner going 200 to prove to strangers on the internet you arent speeding up the video is weird
The shots taken by the photographs look sick as hell

Maybe i'm overexaggerating but i think i'll tear up a bit if I ever have a photo like that lmao. Ripping past people on a track on a CBR is my dream, hopefully not long off, now.

People who have never ridden a motorcycle cannot comprehend just how insanely quick they are. This is a great example how fast this guy can go 250kmh even if there is only a short straight for him to go all out.
Well done, enough safety margin by still being superfast 👌 The only risk I personally would not have taken was the overtake in Adenau at 3:00 because it's a difficult turn with no visibility especially for car drivers who are not expert, I don't know how was your impression on the bike. But of course it's just my humble opinion, everything was properly done!

I def agree, I wouldn't have taken many of the overtakes anyway cause I'm not nearly as skilled. However that one was pretty risky either way!

This shows how much faster a litre sports bike is compared to your average car, even if that car is faster than average. Impressive driving!!

It helps when your p/w ratio is off the charts, plus you actually have to be a good rider. Driving isn't as hard by comparison.

Yup. I went from a 110hp 550lb bike to a s1000rr at over 200hp and like 450lb which is an absolutely insane difference. I wish there was a track like this nearby because it's pointless on the road. I can go to jail on any road without leaving 1st gear. Which is about 90mph. Still worth every penny.
You could install a small audio recorder or microphone above the rear tyre to limit wind noises, this would also place the microphone near the exhaust giving it a crisp sound. Note though, to set a small gain to avoid audio clipping because of the loud exhaust. Also direct the microphone towards the general direction of the exhaust. The audio can later be synced to the footage in post when either engaging first gear or by weirdly clapping your hands in public

Or just behind the wind screen, that would mean more sound from the intake as well. I have not tried it, maybe there is too much wind there. In my Superseven I usually use an external mic on the GoPro and put the mic in the passenger seat, no wind and a lot of engine sound.
@yourDecisi0n

@@alexbergsland The windscreen could be too noisy, but this highly depends on the windscreen and how airtight it is. I mean, even helmets are very noisy and our ears are far less sensible than most microphones. But I guess, it's often a hit-or-miss situation. Therefore the best thing you can do is to try things out

Best place for a mic is in the cargo compartment.
@yourDecisi0n
8 ай бұрын
@@future62 No, not really. This will dampen the sound, which therefore has a negative effect on the sound quality. Sound is best recorded directly into the microphone. So, even the direction of the microphone and distance to the sound source (not too far away, but also not too close to it) make a big enough difference to consider. The microphone should be place a few centimeters away from the source, even sometimes a bit further, because microphones are indeed very sensitive. It should be directed at the source and best be openly place. Furthermore, the microphone should have a furry microphone cover, in case there is still some wind picked up by the microphone. Normally, because the exhaust on bikes is so loud, some of the tips can be vaguely followed as the sound pickup is enough in many other places as well. So, the best thing is to try stuff out and see what works best for you. I would still advice against putting the microphone into the cargo compartment
One of the best videos on KZread of this track. Love everything about it!
crazy skills and motorbike man, much respect. Ride and be safe 😌
i love your style of ride. this video shows me what a pleasure is to ride a bike on nordschleife. thanks man
Ive been watching action sports videoes for 20 years, but this blows me away! You get a pure sense of being in "The Zone" I love it!

Clean run man and some cool shots that came from it aswell🤘🏼🤘🏼
Just got myself a 2020 MT10. I’m obsessed with the sound it makes 😅

Mental man, jesus, love the sound of the crossplane engines ❤
Absolutely amazing riding. The Misha of bikes 😊
You just got a new subscriber that is some great riding!
Excellent riding! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Incredibly impressive. I would be far too scared to ride this fast through traffic even if I had the skill. I've seen many ring videos where drivers don't even see large cars preparing to overtake let alone a motorcycle that has incredible acceleration capabilities.
Great lap footage--thank you!
Crazy fast, but safe. Kudos.
Slicing through those cagers like they're not moving. Bikes are awesome! 👍
Excellent video and amazing riding. Congrats
good rounds ,nice video ,wish you a safe ride on your bike! because ur not lacking skill :D great video :D
bike color scheme is very nice.. thumbs up great riding
Very fun video to watch!! Keep it up man, I love the sound your R1 makes it so good. Better mic on the go pro would be better but that's your choice ofcourse.
Good ride. Keeping a margin means you're alive to do it again 😎
very good drive !!!! i love the R1
Wild! So skilled.

I know they say the green hell is a car track, but damm I hope I can get around there on a bike one day. Nice ride mate!
This is such a beautiful bike and nice paint.
What a ride!!! Wow
Greetings from Florida. Sick ride stay safe.
Nice riding, looks like fun
Impressive. Great job.
Amazing ride man. I'm planning on getting a Ninja 400 as my first bike and I've seen plenty of videos that say a 600cc bike like the R6 is literally all the bike you will ever need. After watching this I 100% agree 😂😂 This bike is insane! I'd love to try but I could never ride like this. Stay safe!

You should watch the bike record vid. It's nutty. OP had a nice spirited ride with some margin for error and even that takes massive balls on this track, but the 7:10 vid is full send.
Legendary!!!
Did you speed on the last straight after the yellow? Because i wanted to see how fast the bike would be catching up and passing cars
Geiles Stoppie Foto. So brems ich die Kurve auch immer an :)))
Phew! that is some seriously committed riding. It must take a while to get confident that either the cars you're catching have seen you, or at least aren't going to make any sudden direction changes, all while remembering which way the track is going next. Stay safe, and keep the rubber side down

He establishes a relationship with each driver before passing them. Its a very sibtle thjng but you can tell if a driver is aware of you in a split second just bt the body language of their car and their head movements. The cars are signaling him to pass and even when they font signal their is a quick acknowledgement 🤙
Very nice riding!
Quality 👍👍

Deathwish would be doing this on public roads, its a closed circuit with traffic rules lol Motorcycle deaths on the nordschleife are about as common as on public roads. Probably less than some spots around the track, the Eifel is a small motorcycle paradise after all.
Cool video. I think it's crazy they allow cars and bikes together..
Great riding bud
Love the start ‘check the timer’ that’s what I’m like on my bike. All these car drivers in their so called fast machines accelerating with their heads pinned back into their chair and I’m already at 200km/hr when they’ve barely reached 120km/hr. I adjust phone to start timer) casually accelerate on. Bikes are a hole different universe 😂
crazy control very nice

Not the best day to go fast. It's like every is driving to the supermarket. Great video and R1= missile.

I can tell by your cautious overtaking that you are used to riding a lot on the streets. Always watching for cagers! Even on a racetrack :^)
this is sick
Cripes, don't think I've been as sweaty since the days of Ghostrider... that was a quick lap, bike made it look effortless.
imagine being in a car next to him and seeing his front wheel lifts up at 150 or more, crazy how much power this is
Nobody uses the whole track quite like a guy on a sport bike… incredible stuff
Those were the days. Remember thrashing my ZX10 around like this. Never on a track tho 😉😂
Very cool
You were gentle on them today!
insane
Impressive. I'm spoiled by the tracks in California, every place I rode flat out had wide open areas if you went off track. The barriers look OK for cars but I wouldn't want to slide into one.
