Hi. I have an 18 R1. If you put the mode in power setting ( the 2nd from left) you can change the power when off the throttle and don't have to stop. It may be the same on yours.

Shall have a look into that 👍 thankfully not a massive issue now BSD performance have smoothed out the throttle

Great video yet again mate was a nice change to see a bike dyno to compare how they do things to a car dyno with the arms and brackets they used so he was able to get the computer right upto him while being on the bike

Another great vid. I really do like the look and sound of the R1's and if i didnt like my Panigale V4 so much, I'd have one in my garage! Got the T800 UpMap on my Ducati......this does make me wonder if a bespoke map could make it even better 🤔

Thank you 😎👍 The V4 panigale is still one I need to ride, had a go on the older V2 and it was a lovely thing 👌 Certainly worth drop BSD performance a message, there were a few Ducatis down there on the day

Not in the same ball park, but I had the same issue on my 750 track bike. I took it to be remapped because of the “snatchy” throttle feeling when you initially roll on. I had no confidence rolling on the throttle mid corner (maximum lean angle) as I felt that it was going to launch me to the moon. It made a huge difference as you found. The issue is the bikes are made to run lean low down in the rpm range for emission reasons, but it wreaks havoc with the rideability. The problem is magnified if you change the exhaust, and even a filter to some degree.

I can imagine on track it’s even more crucial as you mention, especially being leant over and having to be extremely careful with throttle input! I wish I had of had the same work done on my RC8R as that was awful round town!

Thanks 😎👍 It does sound naughty like a twin and often confused but she’s an inline 4 - it’s the cross plan crank firing order that gives it the savage sound 😈

If the emission restrictions are as bad as the 2CR model it’s 10000% worth it, night and day difference 😎 Loving the calipers, got a proper comparison against the Brembo’s in a Fireblade review coming soon to the channel 😬 Thanks and glad you enjoyed the video 👌

I am getting my 2024 Yamaha MT09 remapped by these guys soon which has an Akrapovic carbon exhaust fitted and i literally cannot wait. Mark and Andy are spoken highly of know their stuff and are known as motorcycle guru's. I had my first service with my dealer at Flitwick Motorcycles and a guy called Saul i have been dealing with at Flitwick is taking my bike up to BSD performance to Mark and Andy in his van for me and bringing it back so im more than greatful to him and cannot wait to get my bike back 😁👍🏻

Yeah i could hear the joy in your voice when you was riding your R1 when BSD worked their magic on it ha ha fair play. I have been told by Mark in an email yesterday they can do it next month but it should defo be worth the wait. I also has a 2021 Z9 and 2021 MT10 both great bikes but this new MT09 feels so good and seems slightly more powerful even though its the same torque and BHP so when BSD remaps it god knows just how much better its going to be but even stock its insane bike an so fun and smooth to ride 😁👍🏻

Hey there. Really liking your channel. Came to it to research the RC8R. Like you, I watched the R1M launch and really fell in love with the bike but never got one. Always wanted one since. I have a couple of questions if you’re willing to entertain them. -How would you compare the Characteristics of the engines between the RC8 and the R1M? In particular the torque. Will the R1M give you the same pull if you’re too high up in the gears like the RC8 did? -Is the R1M more comfortable to ride? -Has the R1M got a superior cornering feel? Cheers mate !

Hi, welcome to the channel and glad your enjoying the content 😬👍 In a nut shell I would never replace the R1M with another RC8R as overall it’s the far superior bike for me! That said I would still love an RC8R along side it as there really is something special about them 😎 The R1M engine is far more exciting as the RC8R can feel a little rough by comparison, the power delivery especially in the lower RPM on the rc8 is really rough and doesn’t want to ever be below 2,500rpm (common for a lot of v-twins) and the gearbox is also a little clunky.. The RC8R torque, especially with the club race kit is unbelievable from 3,000 - 7,000rpm but due to the lack of electronic assists you can really only experience the full grunt when your in 4th gear and above but the pay off is you don’t get that wild top end compared to the R1. When we did our Nurburgring trip where I was on the RC8R and my friend on a 2016 R1 it was unreal how much more top end he had than me! RC8R is one of the most comfortable sports bikes I’ve ever owned but is suited to people above 6 foot tall, the R1M for road use is not a comfortable ride for long distance but switching out the standard clip’s as detailed in an earlier video has made a massive difference 👌 The R1 feels much more precise in the handling department, the feedback, electronics and top end power make it one very fast bike with only the brakes letting it down in comparison to the RC8R out the factory. Thankfully HEL performance saves the day with there master cylinder/ front calipers 😎

Hi mate I've got the 23 base (60th anniversary) does the link pipe with the akra sound to offensive? I have the end can debating a link pipe to hear the cross plan but don't want it to offensive and would like to do odd track day

It sounds incredible, I don’t think the video really does it justice 😎 It is pretty anti-social though and would be very surprised if it was under 105db (loudest you’ll get for most Uk tracks) if I eventually got onto a Uk circuit I’ll put a catalyst back in, No limits track day advised Porto had no limits so would be fine 👍

The newer ones are supposedly much better it was the 2015 - 2017 model (2CR) which was the worst of the bunch! Certainly worth getting a test ride though as brand new you wouldn’t want to remap and loose the warranty from Yamaha

Sounds nice,, could this be done to my bike?.rsv1000 first generation.. or would i just use a different chip in the e.c .u?.,its had some sort of chip put in it, as i found a chip when i got the bike in wadge of paperwork, its had a airbox upgrade to airbox kit from aprilia performance from griff up at Tamworth, and a yoshima RS3-INS-K on it,, with denso irriduim plugs on it that i got the garage to put on, and makes it go better as well as start better. I took the baffle out the exhaust as it was lumpy coming off the revs and kangarooing around, but it still does a bit, but not as much..the chip i found in my pack is marked up RP58..as far as i can the RP58, is the stock chip..ps you were lucky with the weather, we had sun ,then bang chucking it down. Yukkk🤣

I’m not sure what other models they map to be honest Paul but certainly worth giving them a bell to see what options are available 😎 I’m a big fan of the early RSV’s, had two now and they really are massively under rated for how good they are for the cost 👌

@stoneautomotive cool will look into it, was thinking of doing it later when time n money are available,,be interesting to see what they could do and see what they could get out of it,, only other bike I got dynoed was a 1998 ducati 400ss,, very rare bike, had a k,&n filter and scorpion exhaust that would set car alarms off as I rode by lol , didn't make much hp ,, only about ,45 or so,, lovely bike but was heavy unfortunately, still miss it though, mind u I set mrs car alarm off other day starting the millie up, good job the neighbours are cool. Lol.bless em.

The exact reason I had my 2cr mapped, the fuelling was atrocious! 4th gear 60mph was awful either on or off! You just need to get a bellypan fitted to hide the hole the Cat left 👍
