Ғылым және технология

The Yamaha R-N1000A is a 2CH Network AV receiver rated at 100 watts/ch and has two features most stereo receivers don’t: bass management and HDMI ARC support. With MusicCast built in, all of your network streaming needs are covered. Our full bench test report showcases its performance to determine if it lives up to their prestigious Top-Art performance. I discuss the results of these tests and compare the R-N1000A to Yamaha's older AS-801 Integrated Amplifier as well as the recently tested Arcam A25 Integrated Amplifier.

I’m stuck deciding between the a-s801 and the r-n800. I have huge towers paradigm studio 100 v2’s and on my Yamaha Aventage they didn’t sound good until I bi-amped them and set the ypao room correction. I’m worried my speakers won’t work with the a-s801 and my room which is farely small. What do you think?

I have been on a 40 ish year audio journey. Ive landed at Yamaha A-S2200 Integrated and even bought a Yamaha C-D2100 SACD capable source. Ive always enjoyed listening to vinyl so have a VPI TT with a new Dynavector Te Kaitora REA MC ripping through Harbeth 30.1 with a first time acoustically treated room. I also have an IFI IDSD dac/stream that i dont really use. Anyways rambling on but thiese gorgeous looking Yami’s are fantastic. The build quality is top notch.

Love my R-N803D! Yamaha have really delivered on good sound and usability. MusicCast is brilliant. Will probably upgrade in a year or two. Let’s not forget that many KZread channels are pushing Class D amps and A/B is under pressure right now. This is not the way to go n my opinion.

Thank you so much for this awesome review. Thanks to all the information you provided I'm getting the Yamaha R n1000a because of your bench test. I'm returning a Rotel S14 because it can't power my Kef R7 as this speakers dip down to 3.2 ohms and the Rotel gets the hot icon after playing music for 6 minutes at 80% volume. I'm hopping the yamaha R n1000a doesn't do that as its rated at 2 ohms. I will let you know how it pairs with my R7s in a couple of weeks.

I still have my JBL studio 580's and a Harman Kardon amp in a spare room for the girlfriend. She wanted down there because she said she was going to use it while working out. The only one who has used the speakers for working out is myself. When I took them down 2 flights of stairs and hooked it all up. Lol

I have been thinking about upgrading from my AS 801 to this but not sure there are any real advantages for me at this time. I use an optical cable with my TV and doesn't that give me everything HDMI would except for having to use the extra remote? YPAO might be nice. Don't you lose that if you use the pure direct mode? I use a Schitt Mani 2 phono preamp so I don't know if any improvements to the Yamaha's preamp matters. I guess the only other thing that might matter is if the dac is much improved. If I got a sub, then the 1000's bass management would make a significant difference.

The 1000 also has a few higher quality parts in it than your 801. It also uses a stiffer chassis and better grounding. If that means anything to you. I’m sure it would be an improvement, however likely not a huge difference. I would definitely be upgrading if it’s in the budget lol!

The 2000a has a larger (toroidal) transformer, more filter capacitance and higher quality parts throughout. It has a more robust chassis and better vibration control. It’s in another class altogether. I understand your confusion as the power and distortion ratings on Yamaha equipment are nearly the same from the A-S501 all the way up to the 5000 series.

I’m pretty sure that the R-N800a is a more apt comparison to the 803. The 1000a is in a new category midway between the 801/803 and the A-S1200/2000a

I’ve owned the 803 and currently own the 2000. I would describe the 803 as more “tube like” in sound where the 2000 is “cleaner”. I’m sure that the current owner of the 803 loves it.

Dsp A1 was too good. If they modernized it I don't think anything would be able to touch yamaha.

It has an FM tuner. The back panel clearly has an antenna connection. It has DAB/DAB+ in Europe
