@@Brandon_Vaz The main issue here is the power cable contact(bad soldering inside).First you have to unscrew all the external screws to open the keyboard from the back.Then open the case.Then you must unplug the white ribbon cable in the middle to separate the speakers from the other half.Inside you will see two circuit boards,first unscrew the bigone in order to unscrew the one that connects with the external power cable port (it's the small one) and pull out gently this board in order to reach the black small box(port) that takes in the external power cable.If you turn this upside you will notice that behind that small black port is a bad soldering contact that plays around.Then you must solder this bad contact (see the video) and the problem is fixed.Before you put back all the screws again you should carefully put the cable back and turn on the keyboard(upside down) but do not touch anything!!!Beware of electrical shock!!!.If you can not do this ask help from someone expert in electronics.If the monitor turns on then it is ok.Be carefull before doing anything and notice that the cable must not be connected to the keyboard when you're doing all these.It is a simple fix.Then pull the power cable out and screw this circuit board to it's place,connect the white ribbon cable to the speakers and put all the external screws back.

Hi, in the meantime, thanks for this really interesting video. My Yamaha psr-sq16 when I record tracks when I switch off the power it erases everything I have recorded. I know there must be a backup battery but I couldn't see it . I would be grateful if you could tell me if the problem is precisely the buffer battery, and in which area I can find it to be able to replace it. I should add that even the floppy drive that I think I can replace no longer works for me. Thank you so much. Sacilo
