I can't say enough good things about these videos. I've been on the phone with online parts stores and several trips to the Yamaha dealership and everything I needed was right here. So much frustration washed away. thank you so much john talley. Maybe toss me a video of the front differential break down and rebuild on the grizzly

WARNING! Important things not mentioned: Don’t put greasy fingers on sheaves or belt, don’t run engine without oil, oil the one way clutch when installing, keep pressure on the inner plate so that the rollers don’t fall out of place and get deformed, put grease on splined washer to make sure it stay on the splines, use medium strength lock tight on the fasteners, if a nut has a punched section keeping it from spinning off, then make sure you drill it out or bend it out enough that the punched section doesn’t damage the threads when backing it off.

Great video but 2 things: You need to hold the cam plate in against the rollers or you risk the chance of them flopping out of the channels. Many have made the mistake of not getting the washer/spacer centered over the splines on the primary shaft and consequently ruined their cam plate or fixed sheave because it wasn't tightened down all the way.

Thx John and Partzilla, I bought a clapped out 400 kodiak and alot of these procedures are the same. The clutch was metal on metal and the rear diff was just absolutely the worst jumble of mud and needle bearing pieces. The left hand threaded nut was cross threaded on and I had to Dremel of the nut. Now I have about four good threads on the shaft so I might jb weld that sucker Back on at half torque.

Hi John, Thanks for all the insightful videos. I'm going to install an EPI clutch kit to my 2019 700 Grizzly reps se. The larger 27" tires really seem to make it feel sluggish. I see you removed the primary and wet clutch nuts with an impact gun. I've been warned against using an impact to avoid possibly damaging (spinning) the crank bearing. Is this a valid concern? Once again thanks these instructional videos are invaluable. John

Everything looks exactly the same on a 2006, except the nut holding the wet clutch IS NOT LEFT HAND THREAD. my mistake for assuming, wish he would have said not all models and years have a left hand thread wet clutch nut, extremely expensive mistake stripping that, $3000.00 later for entire new crank shaft assembly and a shop to crack open up the crank case and replace. SMH.

So is this the part that engages the engine brake, when slowing down. Because my grizzly doesn’t have a ton of torque like it used to take off and no engine break at all when slowing down.

Very professional video, but not sure this is what I need to do based on the prognoses: while plowing snow, the wheeler starts slipping after about 20 minutes of pushing. RPM rise without engaging the driveline. I can wait until the next morning and, it runs fine. What should I do to test the clutch?

Hi, you mention an upgrade kit for the 2007-2015 grizzly 700. can you put that in a separate parts list what is required to do just the upgrade. I assume you don't need a new wet clutch but only the clutch housing, bearing, nut, one way, ring seal.. is that correct? and can you list the partnumbers. Also i see that the clutch weights *18 un the blow out have different partnumber when i compare the 2007 700 with the 2016 700 has there been any change to those? are they lighter maybe? I hope you can help me with my questions.
