Yamaha Electric Violin Comparison
Музыка
People ask us all the time how the Yamaha YEV compares to the SV250. In this video, we'll compare the YEV to the SV200 and the SV250. You'll hear all three instruments - including a demo of both pickups on the SV250!

Thank you for all the great comparison videos! My son has been playing violin for 8 years now and is very interested in purchasing an electric violin. These videos have been super helpful.
Nice playing Matt !!
If im ever get tired of my bansuri i want to practice the violin! Such a nice instrument! Looks so smooth with the bow movement, so quick and precise! Lovely playing! Very smoth transition, super clear and stable sounds as well! How old where you when you started?
When I clear my credit this is what I am going to celebrate with

I’m with you. 20% interest sucks.
"Sort of iconic"
Good video, thanks. However, for me the big question is -- do they come in a LEFT-HAND version?
ignoring price the teardrop has my heart
How would you compare using the YEV with a good DI, LR Baggs or ZOOM, compared to the active instruments?
In your opinion, which one sounds more close to the acoustic counterpart please?
I do so love that YEV4 violin !!! Send me one !!!
We got the cheaper one of those for my wife from you guys like 3 years ago. Great violin, and absolutely recommend it. Do you have any videos on violin pedalboard setup (for people that can't just buy a helix)? She has two octave pedals that both do great things for her, but she can't run them both at the same time or it sounds like a crappy keyboard. Is there a way to split the signal into each octave pedal, then merge it back together into the next pedal on the board? Or just any tips you have for violin pedalboards that are different from guitar/bass boards?

Tell me more about using two octave pedals... Do you have one right after the other?

@@ElectricViolinShop She's only had them a week or so, so she isn't set on any arrangement. We had rehearsal tonight and she only used the EHX POG. She tried using them one right after the other and there were some really interesting ways she used them to duplicate orchestra sounds, but the tone suffered a lot. For all that, maybe we'll just bring her board by the shop next week.

They home with Zyex strings.
HI, love your videos. I read in a forum that the black YEV 104 is a tad heavier and does not sound as good as the natural version. Did you find a difference in sound between the YEV 104 black and the natural ?

They come with Zyex Strings. www.electricviolinshop.com/zyex-composite-set.html
Such a shame..the SV250/5 sounds really good, but you cannot change the chinrest on it for whatever reason. You can do it for the other cheaper models, so I really wonder what they were thinking to be honest.

They make great instruments. Yes, there are a few head scratcher decisions here and there, including the integrated chin rest and the refusal to make the "Lindsey Box" commercially available. But on the whole, they're pretty sweet.
What do you mean by "passive" or "active" instruments?

Active instruments require a battery to use. Passive do not. You can use wired headphones with an active instrument. With a passive instrument you need an alternate setup by running through and amp or plug in first.

I just made something up. If you use a recognizable tune, it could trip the algorithm and get a copyright strike.

Yamaha makes good motorcycles, now owns Line 6. I’d like to hear those fiddles thru a Marshall Stack. LOL
