Yamaha BB434 bass - review and demo!

Музыка

Hi there!
I decided to record a short review of my bass , Yamaha BB434. If some of you are considering buying one of those basses, hopefully this will help.
Personally I think this is a really great bass - it is definitely different that typical "Fender type" bass. It is classical BB series, some say already legendary.
I find it's sound a really good out of the box! A quality is even better , great craftsmanship and ...wow it looks beautifully! Such a badass bass :-) Just try to plug it into an good amp and turn the volume up!
In this video - only raw signal sound samples.
Thanks for watching!

Thanks for giving us a real world demo. Just normal everyday styles that everyday players want to hear in reviews. Excellent! Nice sounding bass I’m getting one of these delivered next week. I had the BB734 but It was a bad one, it had defects (surprised at Yamaha) and the actives were not for me. It got sent back.

Yamaha taking the classic Fender PJ pickup configuration and literally running with it (and for the price, AWFULLY tough to beat given the consistently high quality of their builds). I'd say they've pretty much put their stamp on the bass world with their widely-renowned BB series. Might have to give this one a spin myself next time I go shopping for a new bass. Definitely favors the rosewood fretboard from the looks of it...

@@jatza07 Yes, it allows you to drop the E string down to D and back to E instantly by flipping a lever. Billy Sheehan basses have them.

I have this in teal blue... there is no way this is a begginers bass, its way more of what you pay for, underated bass... I have a 1991 fender jazz bass and there is no way Fender can reach this kind of quality and price... the best bass hands down.. plus with the PJ Setup ypu get the best from both worlds.

Edward Ramirez It was years ago, but those of us who could not afford a Stradivarius got the Yamaha. Side by side they looked the same but I guess the Strat was like a boutique compared to a Mid-range. It was a great trumpet and I could never outplay the horn, if you know what I mean. The quality was top notch and it sounded as good as any of us could make it sound. Hope this helps! Have fun!

Got one of these about 2.5 weeks ago to start learning bass on (previously only played guitar). My god, the thing plays itself. Comfy as heck, great tone - nice and fat, not at all clanky. Can't believe it was only $500 - the build quality feels like it could sell for twice that, easily.

I don't see any information on this anywhere (and in the video it certainly doesn't look like it) but I'd like to get some confirmation on it if anyone knows. Does the neck have a gloss finish? I'd hate to get one of these only to find out that the neck has a gloss finish and gets sticky.

This is better than Fender American Performer. 6 bolt neck, PJ Alnico 5 pickups, string thru body design, 5 piece neck, graph tec nut. If Fender was going to offer such bass with these characteristics it would cost maybe double the price of American Performer. The Yamaha beats the American. That's it.

Of course it's no where as good as a Fender, while being in actuality much better, it doesn't have the fender name, so when you pose with it, you aren't a Poser with a capitol P.
