I really want to see a Yamaha superstore: basses and pianos, aisle 3; boat motors and jetskis, aisle 5; chainsaws an dirt bikes, aisle 1.

Sounds like a very good idea, for us the customers. But not for the company & management since it might take a lot of study, planning & cost.

Don't forget trumpets violins and gas stoves.
I have the younger brother BB734-A since release and all I have to say is that I never tried better balanced and tonally pleasing bass for the price point. I can only imagine how nice the BBP35 is!

I have the BB734 too. Totally love everything about it. Same pickups as this one, active passive option, low battery indicator, vol, pan, tone and 3 band eq........woooohooooo
Have the 4 string BBP34 version. It's absolutely awesome- neck is super stable and and the whole thing resonates beautifully.
I've been eyeing this bass for awhile now, thanks for covering it!
Alex did the perfect course down the bass!! Very Nice!!!
Welcome Alex! Great grooves on a great sounding bass!🎉
Welcome Alex! Great playing mate, loved it
I've been eyeballing these for over a year now. I didn't love the previous color choices but this burst is gorgeous!
Alex has a unique groove. Awesome player and knows people want to hear that low B

Welcome Alex! I love the looks of the new bass; beautiful color.
Alex is a monster musician. Immensely talented. Definitely learned a lot from his videos.
what a great pleasure to see Alex, great!!!
excellent job, alex. well done. hope to see you again here.
It's Alex, super funky and groovy guy! What a stunning playing. Liked it!
Finally some attention for these great BBP35 basses. I really love mine. It sounds and feels great.
I have the passive BB-G 5. Had it since 98. it has served me well.
omg.. this BB sounds amazing!! I need one!
A new version of the discontinued Yamaha BB2025X - an amazing bass. Great job, great bass, great video! Glad to see this back on the market!
I adore my BB735a! I love its huge, warm sound and effortless playability. I can only imagine how cool this BBP35 is!
I own a BBP34 strung with pyramid gold flats . Such a good bass. I am happy that you make this review.👌👌
Great review of the BBP. Can't wait for that color to be available here in the US.
I haven't tried a BB for myself yet, but one of the stand-out features I see from them in videos is their exceptional P bass tones. A lot of PJ basses can't perfectly nail the classic single split coil sound even with the neck pickup soloed, but BB basses seem to not only do it perfectly, but they even add something pleasant on top of the already classic P bass tone. I think that I might be able to replace my four-string Player P bass with this five-string BBP without missing a thing from my old Fender!
Seeing Alex on this channel was a real pleasant surprise.
I agree about the P/J combo. I never have found one I really liked, I just put up with it. I'm happy to see this is a passive type. I'm going to the Yamaha site to see if they have it with just the P type pickup. Alex is a fine player, welcome!
picked up a bbp34 this year and +1 to all your comments, it's just a joy to play
I've loved my BB735a. Not quite as high-level as the BBP, but a super awesome bass.

3:36 Good job, Alex. While watching this video, that scene made me make a bass face. Looking forward to more of your demo for BassTheWorld.
basso fenomenale. grande alex!
Cheers to the new guy! 👊
After trying it for several days (friend has the 4 string version of it) the small details of it is flawless. However, compared to my other BB’s the pickups are a bit sterile for my taste. I have a BB1200 and a BB1024x btw. I know a pickup change could solve the ‘problem’ but I am missing the well known BB bark from these new line.
Alex knows how make that bass sing, great video!
excellent video, many congratulations... by chance does anyone know of an effect or pedal that emulates the sound of the double bass?
Good job Alex
Awesome. The BB line are my favorite and I own two of them. Not the pro versions though. The more affordable 400 and 700 are awesome in their own right and probably best value at their price point at this time.
I have the bb435, it's also passive with a similiar neck. It's the best bass I've ever played and it's better made than my german basses which costs more than twice the money. Well done, Yamaha!
Great pro tones from a handsome bass
WOW NICE BASS PLAYED VERY WELL
Grande Alex!
Beautiful sounding bass! Can you demo a nice Warwick and an MTD bass?
Alex making us Italians proud! Amazing player
Have Alex back, please! I may need to 'borrow' a few things that he did. Great player with such a cool groove. That bass was awesome, too!
Once my beloved BB425 was stolen...long history short, i convinced the guy who received all my stolen gear (or maybe was the thieft, IDK)in their own house as an undercover buyer, to finish the deal in the park nearby, next an undercover police team take him away and then i went to the police station to do the paperwork. Finally i take the bass and the majority of the stole stuff with me. These Yamahas are THAT good to make such crazy things like this. Cheers.
Welcome Alex at BassTheWorld 🙂 This Yamaha bass is really great. But the BP35 is not new or did they change something recently? I got my BBP35 three years ago in May 2018.

Great passive 5-string bass. Nice price, too.
My dream bass.
I own two of the BB235 series & they're absolute workhorses! Only downside is trying to record with them lol
Ein weiteres Detail an dem Saitensteg is der angepasste Reiter der H-Saite der anders als die vier höheren gearbeitet ist um einen perfekten Winkel zu geben für den Anschlag der Saite.
Very nice
This color rules!
Is each pick-up silent ( ie: no hum ) when engaged separately ? Thx for the review.
One thing I don't understand about the BB Yamaha line. On the BB435 model the bridge has an "offset" low B, touted as a feature, to improve the 5th string tension/scale. The lower 235 doesn't have this same bridge. So, this is an upgrade for the 435 over the 235. Logically, the offset B on the bridge makes sense to me as performance enhancing. What doesn't make sense to me is, if this is an innovation or improvement, why don't the 735's and Pro Series (higher end models) have the same innovation? Why only the middle 435 model?
@innocentoctave
Жыл бұрын
That's a good question. Looking at the two basses, both use the same diagonal through-body stringing holes, and both terminate those holes in a straight line at the same point of the body. Logically, if the offset bridge offers any advantage, it should be on all models, except perhaps the cheapest. There are possibilities. 1. The offset bridge may have been introduced on a mid-price model only, just to test player reactions. If the response was negative, there would be little incentive to introduce the bridge to the rest of the range. Innovations don't always work in practice. Players might find no real advantage. 2. Perhaps they found, as I do, that it's butt ugly. On a fully pro instrument, details matter. 3. It may just have been a gimmick - a way of offering something at that price point to justify the extra cost without cannibalising the features of the more expensive models. Mid-range models sometimes suffer from the perception that they are neither good value nor pro.
You didn’t mention the scale length. Presumably it’s 34” but with a name like BBP35 there’s lots of room for confusion. Some would also consider a 35” scale to be a “Pro” level upgrade for a 5’r.
Sounds like my BB415 bass.. each pickup is loud and the 2 compliment each other well..
Do the fender precision American professional Sii 5 string please!
Please try one of those legator wraith basses lml
You must be the first person to see these in real life, in this moonlight blue colour. Totally love this bass, and you are clearly very privileged......love it :-)
change that pickup with EMG and then, perfect 🤌.
You forgot to mention the convertible bridge saddles;)
I want one
I like the old BB series like the 3000 & 5000. But that bass has a nice sound and balance. I wish yamaha would bring back the 24 fret version and the Fretless models. To me, they were the best ones. But this baby has a sweetness to it. 😌🎶👍🏾 (plus I like the finish)

@@reynhart66 OMG! How could I forget about the 1600! And yes; what a bass! I was told the old BB series were Japanese builds. They were great basses. I want a use BB 5000 fret AND Fretless model, but they’re expensive. I have a red TRBX 304 and for the money it’s a great bass. But I love those old BB series.
SWR Mo bass demo please
I had a BB 1025X. It was a beautiful bass and well built in theory. But the tone in a mix wasn’t as good as you’d think. I couldn’t put my finger on it. Also had a big dead spot too.
WOOOOOWWWW
I own 12 Yamaha basses and have been playing Yamaha for 40 years. I swear by them.
You should make a video about the new bc rich
Thinking about making the leap• Tired of carrying two basses 😊
That bass playing reminds me of Elaine from Seinfeld dancing 😂
Gregor, Is this bass commercially available from Yamaha? I can find BBP35 basses, but not in the color you demoed. Love that bass and the color.

😎😎😎🤘🤘🤘
Mmmmmmmmmmmm. Brrrroadbass. I love how Yamaha keep that 20mm spacing at the bridge on their 5's and 6's. Wish others did. 18mm? pffft, no thanks Fenderer, I can't slap that. Too small. Thanks Gregor! Thanks Alex! Oh, Alex THANKX for DIGGING right in, there. Too many "delicate flower fingers" out there. So we don't hear the instrument - just the amp.
I didn't see much difference from the bp35 or 735a
👍👍👍👌
I notice these are considerably cheaper than the previous top of the line BB bass- the BB2025. Having played both I think there is a step down in quality which is obviously reflected in the price. I personally feel that the BB735 offers better value with a good quality fit and finish. Yamaha basses are always quality and represent value but I think this one doesn't offer a substantial upgrade to the BB735 to justify being almost twice the price.
@twerpeater

I got my BBP34 at a sale. I have to say that the build quality is flawless - it's obviously a different bass to the BB2024 but hard to see how they could have built this thing any better for what it is. Maybe it's not worth the extra over the 735 if you were paying the full asking price.
@andreasvet4461
Жыл бұрын
@@twerpeater Yeah, I think you're right. Yamaha build quality is just superb even at the lower end of the ranges- and yeah the 2025 is a different beast. I take your point about the BB735 too- I feel similarly about the 2025 Vs 1025- I have both and if I hadn't gotten the 2025 on sale I would have just stayed with the 1025. It's that quality through the range again. Essentially you can't go wrong with Yamaha.
Don't wanna giwe up on the wintage wibe. Love German accents 😅
I love the looks on this, but the sound is a bit to bright and punch for me. Sounds a bit more like a jazz bass than I like. Maybe a pickup swap....
Yamaha are the best PJ pickups bass guitar in the world
Imagine getting someone that really knows how to play bass...
If Yamaha gave a stuff about left handed people I might be interested.
When you first look at the bass your eyes go straight to that silly white pickguard, It needs a black pickguard to complement the blue body.
I love Yamaha basses, and specially the BB series. However this video misses the point: what is new with this BBP35 model? The BBP35 itself has been around for 6 years now, nothing new about that. Now Yamaha introduces new models, and this video doesn't mention a single word whats new about it. Specs and everything seems to be 100% the same as the regular BBP35, so can you explain what makes this a new model?
@basstheworldofficial

They don't make BBs like they used to.
Beautiful Instrument ... except the pickguard!!! The shape ... the color ... and why at all! Without the bass would be perfect! Just my personal opinion!
Is it worth $1,900 and can it hold its value? Long-term investment maybe 🤔

@@CNick75 I get what you're saying. Some are and the some skyrocket in value over time. Just a perspective.
Com on... Yamaha. These heavy old tuners in this price range? and theres 5 of them!. Once again huge neck dive? Hipshot ultralite! Get them, use them on every bass, make us happy. Lets forget about these heavy tuners! Save allmost half a kilo) Old cheap bridge No wheel to adjust the truss rod - it must be a worlwide standart a long time ago. I think its just a model to these who believe in marketing and want to donate there money to Yamaha. The BB 735 at least gives you some preamp options. rather then that - Typical heavy 5 str. PJ Fender-ish bass. Typical PJ sound - nothing more.
Yamaha, let's make them for lefties again !!!!
Ey warum spielt nicht dein vater? (Frank Itt) Hätte besser gepasst
Like the sound just not a fan of the looks
Next !! To much neck dive ! Skip it !
