I miss the 80s

I remember when I first played this level and just feeling *all* the hype. I don't think many games make me feel as badass as Yakuza does. And I was actually very happy to see Yoneda constantly coming after you. During the cutscene when Kiryu just punches him out like a bitch, I was like "is that it? really?" but little did I know that he'd make for a pretty entertaining miniboss to get you ready for the real nemesis of the game.

@@kiryokazooma I was gonna say I suck at metal gear then I saw that you said rising and I gotta say I don’t think it’s quite as good because unlike in Yakuza Raiden isn’t really a human anymore he’s a cyborg but Kiryu is more human because he’s weaker than Raiden is I guess it’s kind like when stories do the whole “the world is ending. oh no” because it’s hard to imagine a whole world The point I’m trying to make is that Rising is cool but it’s missing the more personal touch that Yakuza has

Same here. 0 was my first Yakuza game, but the combat hooked me in immediately, and I ended up loving the characters and story

This is THE moment where Yakuza 0 clicked. This is where this relatively boring crime drama quickly turned into one of my favorite games of all time. This is the moment that made me fall in love with the Yakuza series.

yeah, pretty hard to do so when at this point in the game you have like 2 fight styles and 2 attacks at the most

This video is a solid proof of how much actual depth this game's combat really has. And it only demonstrates 2 of the 8 styles in the game. Great vid man!

@@kailee87 There's 4 per character. The basic three of each is unlocked during the normal course of the game. The fourth style is basically a bonus, the ultimate style of each character

Yakuza's combat isn't deep by ANY stretch of the imagination. And I've played them all. It's just a simplified ps2 era WWE combat system. The AI is also too primitive to put up any real fight, except stun locking you to death, having ridiculous HP, or doing stupid damage. 98% of any cool thing you do's a QTE. A shitty company like SEGA keeps remaking the same game, with low tier PS2 era combat, & newbie fanboys be like: that's deep.

@@ZombiAstral This is still better than Batman Arkham or Mad Max. There aren't really any innovative games in this genre. But I'd say Yakuza Kiwami was actually decent and did require some skills and creativity to beat some of the enemies though some of the bosses, especially Jingu, were really cheap.

This feeling of excitement to beat up thugs, the way those dojima punks have threatening dialogues, their intimidating aura, and the way Kiryu shouts "Koii" to shot up my adrenaline... is never found in kiwami games or any other games. That's why Yakuza 0 is so great.

Let’s not forget how the OST just sets the intensity out through the roof! Yakuza 0 is just pure hype all around. I’m glad I started with this game and not Kiwami. As of now, I’m playing through 4 and so far, none of the other games have given me the same hype factor as 0 did (not that the others are bad by any means, except for 3 on just being average at best). 0 is such a special game and I will replay it over and over.

@@galaxy_kitten95 I'm getting ready to play Yakuza 3 soon and yeah, even though I loved Kiwami 2 and Kiwami, Yakuza 0 will always be a special game where I can go back and replay it without ever getting tired of it. Hell, I replayed it not too long ago since I'm working for the platinum and I never once got bored. I was still hyped as hell and even though I literally beat it only about 2 months before I replayed it, I was still having a blast. There's just something about Yakuza 0 that the next two games (and probably the rest in the series) can't replicate.

This has to be the most powerful and badass long Battle in the game! It’s incredible how badass the battle makes you feel in the face of an army of Dojima members, and how this is the crux that sets everything in motion, for events to come.

Ibreally love the window jump scene because as soon as kiryu breaks the window, theres half a second where it looks like he stopped in time. Even if he isnt. Like reality is still trying to process the absolute balls the man has.

Yoo fr enjoy this system where you don't have to think or conserve some sort of energy you just do brainless quick high damage combat

Pretty sure half of those views are just me re-watching this, superb work making such an awesome fight scene look even better with lots of various heat moves and weapon uses

This mission has been one of my best gaming experiences ever. I remember being so amazed by this.

Kiryu: im a civilian now. It was at this moment Kuze knew he fucked up

Bought this game in the ps sale a few days back, never played a yakuza game but once i reached this part in the game i thought it was crazy but badass lol great intro for me to the yakuza games, and i get to go ultra instinct too which is awesome

It saddens me greatly that I can't find anyone on KZread that plays as well as you do and has a full walkthrough of the english version of this game...

I remember playing this game for the first time and once I got to this part late at night, I knew I was gonna fall in love with this series. Just finished Kiwami 2 and as expected, Yakuza is my favorite game series and Yakuza 0 is still my favorite so far.

somehow this is the scariest part in the game for me: barely any upgrades, small health bar, quick time events, punk-ass yoneda and possibly the most difficult boss in the game. yes, even shibusawa was easier for me than kuze's first fight.

This was the greatest opening chapter to any game I've played in a LOOOOONG time. Just started the game over the weekend, and it is AWESOME. Reminds me so much of what Shenmue was going for, back in the dreamcast days. Even has the same kind of virtua fighter fighting mechanic.

same, it was so difficult to me for some reason (until i realised you could kill the big sofa guy with one hit)

Was proud of myself by making it through the first room, then that QTE came up and I died immediatelu

Kiryu is one of my favorite video game protagonists. this is just simply BADASS

I wish I could play this for the first time again. It was such an amazing game full of content and a great story. The combat is so satisfying and fun, even if most of it is fighting the random low ranking enemies.

Anyone else gonna acknowledge how Kiryu straight up finessed Kuze into kicking him out?

I hate how non Yakuza fans think the game is janky, but I love seeing pros like you do footsies and such, like in fighting games. So satisfying. I love how mindless button mashing will get you wasted in this game.

Yoneda is like Duncan MacLeod, a Higlander.. But instead of cutting his head, you have to kick him out trough a window.

This battle and the theme song just goes so HARD. This made me IMMEDIATELY sold on the Yaluza franchise right after Kiryu went berserk after the Donita Family. I became a crazy Yakuza games' fan and the rest is history.

Maybe there was an open dumpster below. That would mean Kiryu was just taking out the trash.

My favorite thing about this I think is the beginning. Because Kuze has no idea how much he done fucked up messing with Kiryu. Considering his whole career as a yakuza literally goes down the crapper starting right here

mfs talk about kuze everywhere when Yoneda doesn't leave you alone the entire battle and then kills one of your best friends later on the game

No wonder Kuze was his aniki, Yoneda even had the same motivation as him during the whole battle; you can keep beating his ass all you want, but as long he’s alive, he still wants more

This is where I got hooked to the series.

Nothing more satisfing than see Yoneda getting beat againg and again!

This sequence is where I fully got on the ride of Yakuza 0 and never let go. So damn cool.

Yoneda's lines are changed when fighting? I mean the scenes where he attacks Kiryu from behind - in the original he would scream something like "zarea!" but it's just "Haa!" and it sounds like he has less sounds overall.

Game has become more fun since I try to play it like you.

Kiryu during the whole fight:"Bring it you fucks!"

How is it that I have 2 playthroughs worth of hours on this game and I'm STILL witnessing fresh new heat actions I've never seen before?
