    Great video brother! One tip I saw in another video is to keep all the plastic shavings when you drill in a ziploc bag. That way it you have to fix a crack/hole, you have plastic that matches perfectly!

    I installed my YakPower system 3 years ago already... I use "" for my fish finder, "B" for my forward and aft YakPower green LED external light strips, "M" for my 10 Sunpie rock lights (turned for music I might add), "S" for my stern light, "2" is for dual 12v ports, dual USD lights and LED power display. Running a 36 lb. Rear mount salt water rated trolling motor, power control module for the trolling motor, 50 watt 1.1 aH solar panel on my milk crate box with a 54 aH Dakota LiPo battery... on a sunny day... I never run out of power and still have plenty of power for lights and trolling motor for night fishing. I bought a Big Fish 120 and she is an awesome yak… but I had to install a 4” inspection port to do all the wiring from… it was a chore for sure

    Nice job! One note not dissing, I noted you used shrink wrap on the round connectors from the light, I would also shrink wrap the SAE connectors too. Dielectric grease them then shrink wrap the connectors. Ask me how I know, they are not waterproof no amount of dielectric will water proof them, I also used the grease on the connectors your green lights plugged into outside the yak.. You will be thankful you did. Also as someone stated save your drill shavings for future repairs. But nice job.

    I think they should have had nutz on the back side of the round lights then no worries on stripping the threads in the plastic, and I would have cut out all the extra wire spliced it back together I would try and keep the weight down and that Velcro tape seems to not hold for me alcohol wipes doesn't matter lol anyway I enjoy watching you're show. Thanks for watching man!! I agree, I don’t like risking stripping the threads, but then you’d have to access the area by hand to get a nut on the back side. Great gear and install! Side note: A vessel operator should not have white light in any position that it can shine in his eyes. It ruins night vision. Red light is the preferred light to impact night vision the least. My cockpit button lights are under the seat, shining forward and are blue light instead of white. If I need more light and install them forward of me I'll add red. Your yak is looking killer. Thanks for the vids.

    First off great video! everything seem to go in very easily in the yak power system… Quick question did you find you needed to get any additional wire for the SAE connections? also, yours looks like a wireless option. How’s that been working for you? I recently picked up the wired version and I’m on the fence as to which one to go with now that I saw your video. Thanks again great content …liked and subscribed . Hey Bob! Thanks for watching! In the two years I’ve used it, zero issues using the wireless option. I recently had the control knocked into the water by my measuring board so I’m control-less. However, the Bluetooth functionality is quick and easy to use through the app. The control is $70 to replace, so I’ll likely just leave it as is for now. I didn’t need additional wiring. But adding on more would be a breeze if you need to extend them.

    Hello. I love your videos. I just got the same kayak and I have a question. When you plug your go pro into the USB to SAE plug, doesn’t water get into or affect the USB port itself? I know the plug is designed to be waterproof to your kayak, but I’m talking about the actual USB port on the end where the go pro gets plugged into. Does t that get wet or anything?

  • @BeardedDadFishing

    @BeardedDadFishing

    Appreciate that brother! Water can definitely get into that port. Your best bet is to use a healthy amount of dielectric grease on all connections, but especially that one. It will help prevent corrosion and shorts.
