Its weird how Ryu does the Izuna drop to ppl from 2 feet in the air and still manages to kill or break their neck. but the fact that he did this to Yaiba at several feet, I'm surprised his bones and machine parts weren't damaged for Miss Monday to bring him back to life. Tho I was happy that Ryu was able to defeat Yaiba

***** did you watch the same fight as me ryu was having extreme difficulty with yaiba first fight ryu was having trouble handling yaibas improv instinctual style hell when it over sure ryu but he was down on one knee showing it was a difficult fight only Genshin has done this too ryu yaiba is the second to have done it proving Yaibas skill level. and this one ryu was forced to use true dragon sword and true inferno bit usually left for god like opponents or other super ninjas yaiba joined the pantheon. pretty much anyone saying yaiba is nothing is wrong.

GnosisZX Ryu didn't have trouble fighting Yaiba at all lol What does being on his knees have to do with anything? He murdered Yaiba pretty easily first fight, because he's smarter than Yaiba and knew he would think Ryu would down but he wasn't. Yaiba is a fucking pussy, he talks so much shit and gets his ass kicked in every fight. He's nothing, especially compared to Ryu. The fucking spider ninjas from NG2 would kick his ass.

***** take a gander at the scene when ryu was one one knee it means he struggled and hard in animes and games that is what it means. stop being a fanboy and analyze the scenes hell in the second fight yaiba pretty much beat him by literally punching out his strongest ninpo had yaiba wanted too he could have killed ryu there and then but opted to make him suffer and ryu as his words say was resigned to his death why he told yaiba to take the notebook he knew his fate was on yaibas hands. Lets not fortge the FACT ryu used the true dragon sword againts Yaiba something usually reserved for god like fiends that should tell how strong yaiba is

It's got ryu in it, he's still a badass and a boss fight. i'd say it qualifies, he was a boss fight when you were playing as him, all those enemies you were fighting were simply playing the game.

Yaiba is, for lack of a better explanation, a poor attempt at cloning the spirit of blood dragon, the far cry stand alone game that was made literally for the sake of making something in the vein of a b-rated, stupid 80's action flick. Many devs saw the success of blood dragon, which was an instant hit because it didn't take itself seriously, and mis-interpreted that success as "humor" when in reality, it was the creators being given free reign to make a stupid but fun product. However they still hit the right notes in certain areas, combat appears to be very flashy, entertaining, and who doesn't want a ninja vs zombies game? I mean really?

To be fair, yaiba isn't actually being presented as a likable, bearable character. He's being presented to us as an angry, drunk, unskilled lout who's greatest moment in life was when he was killed by ryu hayabusa. so if you came into this game expecting him to be likable....well....

Pff, I find the fact that this guy is needlessly unlikable refreshing! i can enjoy playing as a character I can't relate to because it keeps me asking "why?" it draws me in, and I have to wonder what makes this guy such a douche to begin with.

Ryu is tough one combo nearly took all of yaibas lifebar and that on normal I can only imagine Ryu in harder difficulties. Ryu also has fire and lightning attacks which affect yaibas cybernetics and flesh. He was well designed

Very good hack&slash game, very underrated, try it. I beated him normal, hard and nightmare and now will come HELL !

I don't understand why this game is getting so many bad reviews, this game is a spin off, with a different main character and some awesome combat, it's not the "End of the Ninja Gaiden series" that I have heard so many people say.

I understand that this game is supposed to be a spin off, but the concept behind Yaiba's character was poorly thought out. Instead of making him just as engaging as Ryu in the series, we're playing as a new character with a cheap back story and a serious lack of detail in game play mechanics. Not to mention that he fights with a broken sword. The cybernetic arm was cool but charging into battle with a brokensword. REALLY!

After seeing the fine craftsmanship that is NG and NG2 combat, this looks like an absolute joke.

You just had to kill Genshin

Ryu's moves seem to be styled along the first ninja gaiden (except for the dragon) if they had run the same damage system he would have died during the first 2 combos Yaiba used. Team ninja kept the whole "you die a lot" thing when you're the main character.

Ryu killed Yaiba twice. It's very clear who is stronger. Also, 6:09, Yaiba is hitting Ryu a lot, but the moment Ryu hits him there is a lot more impact, illustrating how painful it is for Yaiba in comparison. All because he can stand up to him in gameplay doesn't matter, there's many enemy ninjas who can stand up to Ryu in his own games in gameplay but when it comes to story Ryu is always the stronger one.

I'm mad I even played this game..

Man Hayabusa has been in 3 shitty games in a row.... how the mighty have fallen... =(

Alfred winchister To be completely honest I bought the game, I tried it out and enjoyed it it ran me 7 dollars cash and I felt it was well worth it. I honestly wish they would add Yaiba to the DOA cast as well.

What in the hell...were they thinking when they were making this? The humor in this is -not- funny whatsoever and Yaiba himself? I would not play as a warrior brought back from the did that's STILL talking shit to a supreme Fiend Killer.

Only badass part was the prologue cutscene and this fight scene rest was garbage....games really need to stop making trailer badass but the real deal shitty....reminds me of ashrams wrath the very first trailer was badass n gory but the final product was some weird cyborg most cutscene mix up...turned out decent but could’ve been better

Not even close… ryu has more development it’s amazing how developers can develop a character so well that barely talks… he’s badass, quiet, a hero, he respects his enemies even if they kill him, he is not one of the people you’d wanna fuck with he’s kicked many many asses including gods as well
