This video has had so little views I do not think I'll be doing another one, it's a shame as it's fun to look at things other than sim racing but if nobody wants to see them there's no point!

Chigz tech reviews did a review of the Apollo P40 and I was blown away with the image quality for a 1080p el-cheapo projector. Having watched this I might have to check out other reviews on the Yaber.

I'm having mix opinions about these projectors and the quality of picture delivered , by the way thank you for this acurate comparison . On first place it seems to me the yaber ACE K1 look brighter and more colorful ,not taking into account the level of daylight at the moment this video footage was made, I noticed there was a difference of brightness in the room that could affect significantly the brightness of both projectors ,however I'm considering buying a ultimea projector

Hi,have ordered the yaber k2s now as hopefully the picture quality is as good as the k1 or better (150 more lumens) and I like the added functionality of the newer model.😊

Impressive performance from the yaber ace k1 simple modern projectors are getting better rapidly

Actually I would choose the Yaber for gaming over the Tv and project it on a decent 120+ inch canvas any time.

Thanks for your time and detailed review. Would you be able to show the pictures of both projectors side by side, instead of tv and projector? Thinking it would be easier to directly tell the difference? :)

Hi, would you say that the k1 is the best picture for its price point?

I'm very impressed with the picture quality of the Yaber, but when connected to my Roku Ultra , it will not accept 4k 60fps HDR signal as it states it supports. It will only support 1080p which I understand, but I was under the impression that the quality would look even better if it was fed a 4k signal and then it downsampled it to 1080p. Great review by the way, thanks. Edit: I can now conclude that for me, the Yaber is way better. Colors pop and it’s much brighter than the Ultimea. I decided to give the ultimea a try , but after trying both, even though the ultimea had no problem accept ing 4K60 HDR from the Roku, the Yaber still beat it in picture quality and brightness.

Do you know if it will recognize 4k with an Apple TV 4K or Chromcast 4k? I’m testing a cheaper projector 1080p native but it recognizes 4K with a PC and the image looks better.

I still wonder about the P40 since its only issue seemed to be the colour. If it was manually turned up, I believe this would solve the problem and deliver an even better pic than the Yaber!

Hi, Well, thanks for this review, I just got myself a P40 on Amazon for 199€ (so I guess, that's a no-brainer, at least for me). I received it today so I only tested it for a couple hours and so far I'm pretty happy with the result. I'm planning to get some decent actual projection screen because it's way brighter on this material than on a plain white wall. I wish you had tested it on it as well to see the overall gain we would get but anyway, maybe the people who can only spend a few bucks on a video projector won't purchase a screen on top of it... I'll do some calibration because I got the x-rite i1 and I already feel I'll get decent colors after that. The input latency could have been measured, that would have been nice, but I understand it requires some dedicated tool which isn't that easy to set up. Anyway, I'll have to search for some decent screen review at a good price now =) Cheers!

Thanks for the review! You mentioned you would test the latency / response times for gaming, but I can't find the outcomes. What was the latency / response time for each of these? Is one better for gaming than the other? Thanks! 😊

@@KarlGosling I wouldn't call using a youtube video as a reference point for gaming. Plus as i recall HDMI isn't the best at parallel data sharing. And then there is the problem of a possible HDMI splitter being the the loop of things. Inconclusive at best.

I didn't understand very well, how did you put together 2 bezel free kit kits! you say you overlapped it? one kit over the other? there is no junction in the middle of the kits? Can you help me? I have two free bezel kits, and I wouldn't want to screw up testing something that doesn't work! I thought about using the 3m magic tape, but it seems much better what you did

I basically balanced them one on top of the other (end to end) and then held them there using a tiny piece of string with a knot in the end puling them back towards the displays... it's not perfect but it works.

Karl, thanks for the answer, but I still don't get it! how did you join the bottom one with the top one? just overlay it? no glue? no sticker? when you talk about the string, would it be to attach it to the screen without using the original assemblers?

The 1080 BenQ I bought 5+ years ago is still a great Projector, used to play playstation games like uncharted and PSVR on it no issues. Now the kids just play Mario/ Mario kart type games on the 120inch screen split four ways and it works great.

Go above. Pay more for good brightness. I had apollo p40 nothing wrong with it good picture until my dad bring me Optoma to me and apollo look like a toy compared to more bright Optoma, so tried to pay more there is differences when you pay more in projectors specifically brightness. i hope this benefit you and good luck.

Very nice video! But one complain 😊:measuring input lag by frames in 30 fps is VERY INACCURATE, I guess Yaber is like 40-50 ms and Apollo like 70 ms what is still acceptable. Its very easy to measure input lag with laptop: connect laptop via hdmi to projector, play some stopwatch on it and record by phone both screens in the same time. When pause video in random moments then You see how much miliseconds projector is behind the laptop😅 Edit: I measured input lag of P40 by recording Your video with 60 fps and timewatch in front of screen, P40 is like 59 to 63 ms behind tv. so overall latency is max 70 ms for this model imao

@35:00 - the p40 is juddering really bad ( skip or repeat frames). The K1 is smooth like the tv.

Y brother in law has a cheap projector and he thinks it looks better than a TV but it's bloody awful. The picture is very washed out in it.

TV is sub 10ms not the projectors, they were around 60ms and 100ms.

The ultimea is down as low as 160$ if you can use the internet ,so of these two ultimea comes on top. Well this cheap only in Europe tho.

You need to put some graphics on the video to show which side is which projector. It was so confusing watching your video. DO note that not everyone understands fluent english, so not everyone can rely on your commentary throughout the video.

it is not worth it believe me. game is laging I cant aim and it didn't catch 4k signal. it collected dust for about 5 months

Maybe you can't aim because you suck at gaming!

Yaber latency input lag around 65ms . Compare with oled tv personally its terrible to gaming on yaber compare to my oled tv which has 0.8ms. Its better for movies yaber k1 its excellent and give the cinema immersion.

If only EVERYTHING was available for £1 an inch 😂

All these cheap Chinese projectors are very similar yes.

Yeah I could have told every one of you all this easily! The projector are not made for day time, they are made for dark room with no windows. I don't know why people thinks ohh there is a projector out there that can show beautiful pictures during the day light! Let's go get one! I'm over here thinking OMG when are people going to grow common sense?

There are loads of projectors that work in daylight.

oh yeah...this guy. I promise you...he has killed more projector sales with his side by side with a TV method. lmao. The brain cant unsee it. Its not even a reasonable method. Now, if youre getting into $2000 plus laser then ok, maybe. Its still unfair to the projector! ITs image is cast on a wall with nothing but a screen a Tv has all the guts and electronics right there to produce the image. lol PRojector has a much harder job

It's a REALISTIC demonstration of what you can expect to see performance wise from these projectors, viewers all need a reference point they are familiar with... a TV! Otherwise they all look great on camera and thats not an accurate representation, even comparing to other projectors is pointless unless you happen to have that exact one yourself and so have a reference point.

Bro tested 2 cheap projectors to a cheap tv 😅 nice. But when i took my 75" oled and compare this to the projectors for sure the picture looks like shit😂

You are right. The aim is to test the visualization and usability with a TV. You can not make comparisons on a high end oled TV with a 300 projector. For the price and quality of these projectors, they are really good.

Who has subtitles enabled on every video?? It’s 2023. Reading the comment I left a few months back I guess I could have worded things nicer. You put urself out there to help others and I should be more respectful. Although you may want to rethink how you deliver ALL the info to viewers. I am willing to bet I’m not the only one who doesn’t have subtitles enabled

Ultimea Apollo P40 Received yesterday.. am very disappointed. It's bright, but fuzzy despite the automatic, whining an unbearable high tone, a hair on the display and two pixel errors, rainbow effect on the edge, no audio setting, only 60 min timer, never goes out on its own, nested settings, red color is more orange-red which cannot be changed, straight lines on the display tremble and cause interference, HDR is a joke, measured eco mode does not save electricity... in the end, the design is more of a dust catcher.
