💑 About Hercules Candy
Hercules Candy has been on Steve’s side of the family since 1910(ish). When he took over in the 70’s, he anticipated after 10 years of hard work, he could move the business out of the basement and into a real storefront. Unfortunately, it took until 2018 for that to happen, but hey at least it happened! Steve and Terry own the shop, Craig (the social media manager) is their son, Cara (wrapper and shipper extraordinaire who is poised to take over the shop one day) is their daughter and Leah (who doesn’t love being on camera and is very elusive) is their oldest daughter. Karen has been working for Hercules Candy since the twins (Craig and Cara) were about 6 months old and everybody else is a new recruit. Don’t forget to subscribe and hit the 🔔 for more videos!

AND...I just realized to day, my macadamia tree is going to recover! It dried out too much or something and lost all its leaves. I live in Washington State, I have it in a pot indoors, and I'm always poking myself with the pointy, long, holly-like leaves.

Fun facts, Macadamia nuts are native to Australia. They were discovered in North Queensland near the town of Bauple. They were originally called Bauple nuts. They are the most expensive nut in the world, but many Australians, like me grow one or two in their yard. I have a large one in my front yard. Macadamia ice cream is the bomb, and chocolate coated Macadamia's have been a popular chocolate snack in Australia for many, many years. If you ever come to Australia, you're welcome to pick up and eat as many from my tree as you want.

They were talking about Macademia nut cookies and how good they taste and I would agree with that. So, I was thinking, why not make the cookie dough minus the white chocolate and the macademia nuts, bake it and then break it up into pieces then combine the cookie pieces with macadamia nuts and top with with white chocolate to make bark but maybe don't use so much white chocolate leaving the cookie pieces and nuts exposed or even adding some milk chocolate on at the end because white chocolate can be a little overpowering. When Steve was talking about the macadamia nut cookies it reminded me just how good they taste and if you could replicate that in a bark, WOW it would be so good!

@@HerculesCandy Yes, they are grown in Hawaii and have been for quite some time now. In fact, the first Macadamia Nut Trees were transplanted in Hawaii, from Australia, back in the 1800s. While most Americans know them as being a nut from Hawaii, they remain an Australian nut, simply grown in Hawaii, of course. It's no different to Pecan Nuts grown in Australia.

Nice chocolate clusters. Maybe try crushing the macadamia nuts a tad bit?

I love Macadamia nuts (my 2nd fav after Cashews). I love dark chocolate and somewhat tolerate milk, I don't like white chocolate at all. The problem with dark chocolate is the % of cocoa solids is so variable that many consider it 'dark' if it's over 45% but my fav is around 80% (I prefer choc not so sweet). Since I live in Australia (home of the Macadamia nut) I can't order anything from Hercules so will have to make it myself someday.

I completely agree, although I thoroughly enjoy dark chocolate as low as the 70% cacao level...
