The pic is Korean, but the joke is Japanese iirc. The joke is that fire extinguisher and musical instrument are both called "gakki" in Japanese. So it's a visual pun hehe. And also specifically why you see many fire extinguisher saxophone memes online lmao Edit: reading knowyourmeme's page on this meme has since corrected me, scratch all this folks, it's Korean!

This, to me, is the definitive 90s / Early 2000s sound. It brings to mind such imagery like a pale/yellowing train station, or a rain-soaked street at midnight reflecting the neon signage of a local night club. It almost has a majesty to itself that doesn't necessarily imply cleanliness or perfection, but rather, true freedom and solidarity. So, so special.

To my internet friends here: Speaking as someone who lived as a teen in the 90s - That ethereal place you go to in your mind and all those feelings you have imagining what once was, what could have been, or what could be when you listen to this music - I can personally tell you: it was that and it was wonderful. Wish you could have been there with me too at the time but I’m glad this playlist can transport us back there together. That reality still lives in this music and I’m happy it has brought us here together.

I discovered Jungle in 2018. I then explored more of Electornic music. I discovered, Hardcore, Breakcore, Power Noise, Frenchcore, and more! Jungle made me discover how unique Electronic can truly be. Jungle is like the party that you go to and you never want to leave. Its just filled with badass bliss.

It was a magical time. A time of opening ones mind. One thing YT is good for, to allow the old ones to go back to those times and feel excited about what was happening, but also to allow the generations of today experience what people of the era were experiencing. I also find it great that a new generation is embracing the sound and continuing the wonderful sound of Jungle/DnB!

It's so funny the way i found DnB of this type. I LOVED when modern music had some snippets of these types of beats but i didn't know why or what it was, i just thought it was cool drums i could hear sometimes. And then i started to get DnB mixes recommended on KZread and everything changed. A whole new world opened up to me. THIS is my genre. This is the sound i've been longing for, i can listen to this forever. I listened to a lot of Trip Hop back in the days and that genre is influenced by DnB so it all makes sense now. I'm 30 so better late than ever i guess, it's like i'm a teenager again, with these fresh new tunes in my lil ears.

I remember loving these kinds of tracks from Grand Tourismo, commercials, and other assorted mixes, but never knowing really what they were. And then one day an older brother of a friend of mine was playing 808 State - Pacific State, and while not exactly jungle or DNB, it got me hooked on these vibes.
