Because when struck by calamity there is no mantra, or Quranic and Biblical verses or any other religious incantation or spell, that is going to save us. We will be saved by knowledge of science and will to survive. During Covid 19, no mantra, no Quranic and Biblical verses or any other religious incantation or spell could save us, the vaccine was developed based on scientific knowledge not by praying to some imaginative deity. If an asteroid is going to hit us tomorrow, its scientific knowledge that will help us, no matter whatever we may personally believe in.

If people are reciting Mantras cz they feel a sense of peace, I can understand if they take the placebo and escape to some temporary relief. Thing is when somebody believes in something and wanted to debate over that, he/she ignores a lot of counter talks and always tries to prove their beliefs. The first person who's promoting the Gayatri Mantra is doing this, he is so much into his belief that he ignores the logics which you are providing. But, you are doing the same, you are so much into your modern intellectual thoughts that you mentioned that Astrology is pseudoscience. Mind my words, you have to learn a lot in this sector child. This science is so deep that you can't understand or measure it's possibility. I do not give you the full blame, actually astrologers have the major role to destroy this science. FYI, astrology is not a future predictive tool, it is a calculation where, how a human will react in a certain period of time when natural phenomenons are happening. If some astrologer can master the science, energy, and vibration of those constellations, he/she can definitely predict the actions of a native, because scientifically we humans also consist of 5 elements which can be manipulated by the cosmic elements. I believe in Astrology, but I don't believe in it blindly. I dare you to study astrology deeply and say that this is pseudoscience.
