Did you check to see if the new replacement Dorman 76871 knob is removable from the shaft? If you have to replace the switch in the future, it would be nice to be able to use a small screwdriver in the slot on the knob (see numerous KZread videos) to release it from the shaft. I ask because I noticed reviews of this particular replacement knob/shaft that indicated it was not removable It appears to me that if this is the case, you'd end up destroying the knob by yanking it off requiring another new knob/shaft. I wonder if originally Ford had used two types of these knob/shafts in production: one for vehicles that do not require removal of the knob to replace the switch and another similar one that has a removable knob for vehicles that require the removal of the knob in order to replace the switch (dash bezel removal required). Maybe some aftermarket companies (e.g., Dorman) desided that since they appeared to be the same, they'd just use the non-remobable knob one in all applications????

Does clicking it to the right or left turn the cargo light on? My light is broke but i just want to make sure its not on internally and wasting my battery

Try rotating the knob as if dimming the lights while you are removing it. Hope this helps!
