I LOOOOOVE these days, especially when Nina was in love with Phillip and then when it became mutual.
I never understood why Phillip was living with his fathers widow.

Mrs. Chancellor was so obsessed with her arch rival Jill and her and son Phillip even long after her ex-hubby died. Winning custody of his only heir, lil’ Phillip, was the greatest way to stick it to Jill.

Jill dropped him off at boarding school so she could have a dream life as John Abbott's wife and a Jabot executive. Her son resented her for that -- and Mrs. Chancellor used his resentment to drive a greater divide between mother and son.
