Jeanne Cooper is and was the Grand Dame of YandR and soaps in general. RIP Jeanne, we love and miss you ! Have watched the show since 1977.

Ironic How Jeanne Cooper said she called the writers and asked not to go upstairs anymore because she can't come down any older. (56:11) Then her last scene she is going up the stairs. I do so miss Katherine.

Y&R will ALWAYS BE #1 in Soap Opera for me. Wow this made me really miss Jeanne Cooper. I miss her like she was a true friend that I knew throughout my life, but that is the beauty of these amazing actors who make The Young and the Restless the twisted and captivating daytime drama that has kept me tuned in for over 30 years now.

It's assassinated all the Cast! "I've been watching it ever since 1979... So many times I've wished i was the writer! 😆 then have what i thought- come to life. I loved john abbott and was always making him a hero (of sorts) . been watching from the 1st day it came on. Love it!! My mother thought paul would never find lauren buried in california or some far off city. The only time i ever laughed at mom. (It was NOT funny to her!) Thanks guys. Mom's gone now and I'm 80 yrs. Old myself but still loving Y&R!!

i Love Y&R! been a fan 4 many yrs. Luv Mrs Chancelor the Matriach. miss her so much. what an actress! Victor & Niki a couple 4 ever! they beat out # of marriages of Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton. Thank You Y&R actors ! Your devotion and commitment is so heartfelt! I watch in honor of my mom. There were times visiting her and you should never visit her during her shows because she was so fixed in watching that we were not important as Y&R was in her life at the hours that it was on. I made a commitment that I wouldn’t do that to my loved ones. I am a thankful I can watch the show later on when no one is bothering me. I can turn it off and watch later but my mom couldn’t do that. 😂 Thank you all for years of service . As we all know this is life in the making . Love you all!

And Carol, there is a framed picture of Kristoff St John on the sat of Devon's apartment. It sits on the counter of the bar area.

One of my father’s favorite TV shows was “Rat Patrol.” One of the actors on the show was Hans Gundergast. In the 80’s my dad was shocked to see that my mom was watching a soap with Hans Gudegast in it...he had changed his name to Eric Braeden. 😉

Thank you Y & R for the ability to take me to a place to escape for 45mins where I don't have to think about the real world and real problems. Boy are you guys funny on stage thanks for the laugh.

Somebody asked "Who is Maria Bell ?" She is married to Bill Bell Jr son of YandR creators. I think she's involved in writing the show if not the head writer at the time of the panel discussion.

She was head writer at the time this was filmed, which was after she was fired. She lasted long enough though to write the 10,000th episode, and she did a good job.

Ive been watching this show for years a long time

I love what Jeanne Cooper says around 42:45 because I will tune in an hour a day just to escape from my reality and relax and enjoy what is happening with my favorite characters on Y&R.

This is a great interview, I am an aspiring actor and I am very glad that I get to hear how behind the scenes are,

Peter Bergman is a class act all the way around I met him in the early 80s when he played Cliff on All My Children. He did a personal appearance at my school in Buffalo NY. Peter could not have been more fun or more gracious person. And he is great about keeping in touch with fans who contact him.

It was in 2006. The writer at the time, Lynn Marie Latham, was hated by pretty much everyone (actors, directors, AUDIENCE! etc), and she took the show in the craziest direction. But one of the more famous storyline's was about Brad's past and his mother hiding art from the Nazis and on and on, it was RIDICULOUS. And everyone hated it, which is why Melody said they weren't to mention it and Josh said he wasn't insulting anyone's work. I guess they had a blast shooting some of the scenes though!

Enjoyed them all. Still do.😉🤔😇😟😊😀😄

Great to see these people having so much fun together, hilarious! :DI hate to spoil the atmosphere here but I have to say, honestly, I'm glad if Maria Arena Bell is leaving the show as a writer! I mean, the things she and her co-writers have been writing lately are horrible! The thing between Victor and Sharon and, I mean, it's crazy stuff, yack! I love V&N together and I miss the old Y&R!

Peter's comment about continuity is why they are having such problems on Y&R. Obviously shows why Jeanne was such an icon.

I love what EB says around 18 min marker, because that is exactly what I think about soaps, I like when I can relate to a character or when something happens to that character, I want to see where they end up. I love Y&R!

I have always loved the show. I remember watching it when I was around 13 I’m now 54. Jeanine Cooper was the first person I saw acting she was absolutely brilliant. Then a bit later on I saw Eric Braeden my god what a fine actor so believable I wouldn’t cross him in a fit 😀 such a great talent. Melody Thomas Scott another great actress the needy acholic 😀 just brilliant. I could go on actually I will. Kimberley Brown (Sheila) just absolutely fantastic as an actress so scary and believable in her evil plots. Michelle Stafford another fine actress her character is such a believable conniving bitch she does great every time. Peter Bergman a fine actor in every storyline he’s just Jack and that is what I have always liked about him. So many fine actors on the show I love this show and I’m glad now in Australia it’s back on free to air tv. Thanks to the young and restless. I’ve enjoyed being entertained by you. xx

I loved the 10,000 episode, Sharon finally getting what she deserved and Victor and Nikki reuniting! Plus the truth about Tucker and he finally gets cut off from Devon, I thought it was a great episode and I loved how each family was around each other. THat was cool too.

This was filmed about a month after MAB was fired. Must’ve felt pretty sad to go, but she had to go because a lot of people were fed up with her writing. At least she got to write the 10,000th episode, and she did a good job.

My one question to the cast: Who is one actor/character, departed or still or still with, you wish could return.

I’ve been a fan since 1955 & I’ve enjoyed the episode where Nickie Victor first married when a maid wAs trying to kill Nickie before the ceremony was to take place. But I can’t remember who the maid was & why did she want to kill Nickie! Everyone was so young back then & it was fun seeing them again now.. Is Y& R still taping the show each day or did they shut the cameras off for an indeterminate time because of the Pandemic and as a result showing the old episodes to keep us fans happy! I for one really enjoy watching them & the characters troublesome times they a go through! Also I applaud them for doing this in order to help people from getting this invisible horrible corona 19 virus! I will continue to pray🙏 for everyone to stay safe ! I pray to God that if it’s His Will that this will soon be under control & the doctors will discover a vaccine that will stop this once & for all mankind! We all know that Jesus is our only Hope & Healor !

The “maid” was Eve Howard, recently escaped from a mental facility. She wanted Nicki out of the way for she hoped she could reprise her love affair with Victor, which he ended when he fell in love with Nikki.

Is Jeanne tipsy? I have watched the show for over 40 years. I think the fact that they have kept so many of the original actors is the key to why this show has been and will continue to be number one. The reason that young and restless is so populat is because of the cast which has been their forever.The moment you start bringing more new people in to the show then more then the original cast it will become less interesting. The reason am 56 and I’ve been watching forever as my mom did. We love knowing their background which has remain forever. To bring a few new people at a time is okay but at some point they will be the old cast for future generations. Also the original cast can’t last forever they will pass on.

I've just read that Victoria Rowell(Drucilla)complained of racism from Melody who took an Afro haircut and dance to mock her and from Michelle Stafford who spat on her and said Victoria is a freak nobody doesnt like her here and that Peter said that Victoria was a mentally disturbed womanand pushed her physically! Victoria engaged for having more African American Actors in the show .

For as long as soaps mainly Americans soaps been on they still haven't covered a lot of topics.never understood why gay men supported Y&R they did a crap job on the gay storylines killed the Noah being gay story.You look at soaps like EASTENDERS not to long ago had a gay wedding Hollyoaks has 8 gay characters on their show the leading male is a gay character I've seen storylines from both soap I had never seen from soaps like Y&R.
