Heard about a guy on my local news unaliving his brother and parents because they favor his brother over them a few years ago. It took a toll on his mental health. This is why you shouldn't play favorites when it comes to your kids.

Did Alex tell his parents the truth? Either way. Their pride and they lack humility is why they will suffer. As for Alex, no forgiveness. He was a favored son and still that wasn't enough for him, he needed to ruin Jake's relationship with his family and his reputation. He gets no sympathy.

Nope. Alex and the parents made their beds - they get to lie in them. I wouldn’t have even met with Alex, to be honest.

Independence from horrible people is freeing. Jake moved forward and didn't go back. He suffered too much to deal with those people in any way. Sometimes, you have to let go, just as others let you go. His brother wasn't sorry. It was an insult to try to use him after that deep of a betrayal.

I would have said I might but first he has to confess to his parents telling them all the lies. Once he’s confessed I would tell him I have decided not to fund him.

Strange,I would consider helping the parents but if this were my brother-the cancer of my family-I'd spit.

I would have kept the ties severed and tell my father what he told me "You need to leave" and then tell my mother "Its for the best" and tell my brother, "every dog has their day, yours is up, you traitor."

The part where the parent refused to apologize makes me think they knew OP was falsely accused.

Favoritism always does more harm then good. I'll bet the parents bragged to the teachers about their golden child Alex as will. Which could explain everything that happened to Jake at school. Where the teachers would belittle Jake. Seriously? Thats not right. What makes it worse is that the parents think that Jake stole from them. But not their golden child Alex. Wow unbelievable. Because how can teachers act the same way as his parents. That doesn't make any sense to me otherwise.

I would never even have met my twin at the downtown cafe'. Then my next move would be to block his phone and make sure he did not know where I was living. Something like this happened to me but it was not my brother, it was our two older sisters. I am tranz and they caught me wearing their clothes at aged fourteen, I got thrown out at fourteen. Thirty five years later after never having seen any of my family for that time, I got a call from my niece who had traced me over my very rare name. I met my brother again because he had not betrayed me, it was our two older sisters. I now meet with my brother and we are good friends but I NEVER see my sisters even though they keep hinting about money.
