Hi everyone, Thank you all, I'm glad you enjoy my playing. I must say God He himself made this simple and beautiful instrument. I only picked it and played it. God bless you all. -Leaflute

You are too modest, Sir. It's like Michelangelo said: The sculpture is already complete within the marble block, before I start my work. It is already there, I just have to chisel away the superfluous material. But, it took a Michelangelo to do that, just like it takes a leaflute to play the leaf like you do. Blessings from Norway.

So glad to hear you play on the leaf. Brought back so many great memories. My Godfather played the leaf many times for me growing up. This tune remained me of the ones he used to play.

It's simple enough in theory; if you've ever whistled with a piece of grass, it's the same thing with a leaf. Then, you vary the tension on the leaf to make it vibrate at different pitches as you blow on it. Making noise is one thing, but producing pure notes like this (AND harmonizing with onself pretty much flawlessly) is a lot harder

Just goes to show what 'man' could do in the Early Days (before there were 'man-made' instruments) using what God gave them. I expect there are many more things we were given to use, for good, that we have not 'discovered' as yet, too ! Leaflute has a 'talent' and I hope it is passed on for always.

It was too awesome. I know this can be done because I have seen it. I just can't believe the people that like to get on here and be hurtful to intelligent people. May God Bless you anyway. My mother used to sing this song and I imagined I could hear her singing it. If you can't do this, then don't trash it. You would have to be tone deaf not to appreciate it and the difficulty of it.

watch his throat just above his collar while the video is playing. It will show you he is inhaleing and exhaleing. Also, for the doubters, the leaf can be stretched and the position of the lips and tongue changed to produced different notes. Same thing happens in a flute, piccolo, trumpet, etc! Yes, I am a musician, and the song he played is one that I memorized long ago and he's doing a perfect job of it!

Pretty amazing 'instrument'. Just shows how creative people are inside. What an 'Intelligent Design' we are. Choice of what to do with that intelligence is, many times, a problem for some. You have chosen Wisely. Thank You for the entertainment. You are of great value to the world.

I am not so skeptical, because in 1985 I was traveling through Curitiba, Brazil: while I sat on a park bench in that city, a man sat down near me, reached up and pulled off a leaf from a tree, and began playing the most beautiful melodies, similarly! One of the most amazing and novel experiences I've encountered, so I can believe this!

I can assure all of you that this is real and certainly no fake, as some insist! I have seen such music played in Brazil (but not so well). In this case, this tremendously talented, yet humble, gentleman dubbed over part of his playing with his own harmony. Don't be so skeptical, folks; just relax and enjoy it! If a man can do this with a leaf, just imagine what God could do with a man (yielded to Him)!

First time hearing this Song. Glory TO God \0/ Soft as the voice of an angel Breathing a lesson unheard Hope with a gentle persuasion Whispers a comforting word Wait, till the darkness is over Wait, till the tempest is done Hope, for the sunshine tomorrow After the darkness is gone Whispering hope (whispering hope, whispering hope) Oh how welcome Thy voice (oh how welcome Thy voice) Making my heart (making my heart, making my heart) In its sorrow rejoice If in the dusk of the twilight Dimmed be the region afar Will not the deepening darkness Brighten the glittering star? Then, when the night is upon us Why should the heart sink away? When the dark midnight is over Watch for the breaking of day Whispering hope (whispering hope, whispering hope) Oh how welcome Thy voice (oh how welcome Thy voice) Making my heart (making my heart, making my heart) In its sorrow rejoice (By Jim Reeves August 20, 1923 - July 31, 1964)
