XXL Angreacum Orchids Moving Day | Winter Spring Growth Comparison 🫠

#angraecum #orchids #growth
TRADITION VIDEO! I am moving my large Angraecum orchids on to the patio, into the Deep South where there is a hedge that helps with the humidity lacking in my climate in S'ern Spain. Watch me as I thread the long aerial roots back into the hedge and talk about how my Angraecum Orchids did over the winter of 2023 to spring 2024. This is always a bit nerve wracking and I always wonder, will this be the year that I have to trim the aerial roots of my Angraecum Orchids? Watch the video and find out as well as another surprise that my Angreacum Crestwood 'Tomorrow Star' has in store for us! 🙌🏼 #orchideen #orquideas #orchidcare #tips #tricks #roots #plants #madagascar #tipsandtricks

    🌸🥷🏼 Director Jose San 🙌🏼🤸🏼‍♀️🥰💐 hola amigo mio! I hope that you are already enjoying a beautiful Saturday 🫶🏼 Back to nature indeed! It was nice to go outside this morning and lift their blanket 🥰 today, checking the weather forecast, I am considering moving the shelf to the East side. It is nice an toasty there in the mornings and Stan the Man needs a towel just to stop him from burning. Still dealing with another night of 14ºC, so I am a little hesitant, but I want to clean up the rest of the hedge on the west side 😆 Other than that, it is a beautiful day on the patio and I appreciate you joining me for a little bit through this video! Wishing you a wonderful rest of your afternoon and evening, amigo mio!! Agradezco todo lo que haces por mi 🫶🏼❤️🌸

    I hear that! After my recent stay at the hospital, and now all the appointments, Dr visits, therapist in and out has left me with little time to take care of my mini's. Needless to say I've lost several now and it breaks my heart as many were from my cousin before he passed. Hang in there though... You never know.

I am feeling a lot different just by the sunshine, even though the wind is still a bit chilly, but seeing that sun rise higher and higher in the sky, I feel as though I have grown an inch. FFF 😍🙌🏼🤸🏼‍♀️🥰💐 good evening, meine liebe Freundin!! I am so glad to get this process done, finished, finito!! I still have to wait for the East side though. My body just isn't coping 😪you know what? I don't know where King was this time around. He wasn't with me at all.... I was so focussed on what I was doing, I did not even notice he wasn't around and well, now that you mention it, surprise, surprise (thankfully though, because I nearly dropped the Crestwood because a gust of wind came and caught me off guard!) Both King and Baloo did come out and have a sniff around when I was done, though, I saw that! I had to educate them with a sharp NO, just so that they don't think the space behind the shelf is there for them to mess about in. 🤨 told them, 'you can look, but do not touch!' Thank you so so much for watching, amiga mia 🫶🏼 I hope your Saturday was nothing short of beautiful and I wish you a relaxing rest of your evening 🫶🏼❤️🌸

They would get destroyed, but it would be interesting to see it happen. Nicely done Orchid Master. I know how difficult it was for you, hearing your voice makes my day especially after potting all day. Your orchids are just great, puts me to shame. Found out just how tough orchids are, 16 days in a box lost then found. The Catt full of scales, badly wilted but not dead. A vanda in the same box lost all aireal roots, couple of leaves, 2 viable roots. Their not pretty but I won't give up on them. Steady as she goes, thanks Nina.

    🌸🥷🏼 Bob San 😍🙌🏼🤸🏼‍♀️🥰💐 good morning, good Sir, from a sunny S'ern Spain! I am sooooo tempted to move the shelf to the east side today because the sun is nice and toasty there in the mornings now, and I really want to finish that part of the hedge where the shelf currently is 😅 Still have a low night ahead and the shade is a bit chilly, so once the sun is gone from the East side, it is not all that warm there. But, getting there!! Soon, very soon!! 🙌🏼🤸🏼‍♀️ I so appreciate your comment, 🌸🥷🏼 thank you so much for being so kind, so encouraging and supportive in so many ways. The friendship is priceless 🫶🏼 from recent pics I have seen, I think you have a root 'problem' 😍🫣😅 amazing! They are gorgeous, so... let's have a root off and you will win that hands down (I only have my Chao Praya to brag about when it comes to amazing root growth😆) I am clutching my pearls as I read your comment about your new arrivals! 16 DAYS??!!! Whhhaaattt??? 🙆🏼‍♀️ you must have been frantic during that time period and then now you have to nurse them ... oh wow! That is the worst feeling ever, when there is nothing you can do but hope that either the box is found, and then that the orchids are still alive and well, its disappointing all around, but there is a sense of relief that there is still something that can hopefully recover.... mixed emotions all around 😪 to have scale on an orchid, even after 16 days in a box, makes me think that there was something lurking in that orchid when she left the seller. Oh my, 🌸🥷🏼 if anyone can do it, you can and I am here for the updates on their recovery because then we can 🤸🏼‍♀️🤸🏼‍♀️ around the patio together! Thank YOU for everything and for watching! Hi Eelke 😍💐 the Crestwood does my head and my back in!! So, I take my time and stop, step back and start again. It took approx. 30 minutes to get that one into the hedge, but now I am always ready to cut the roots to make my life easier. I do not want to drop the orchid just because I want to see how long the roots can eventually get. My ego vs common sense and when it comes to an orchid of this size and weight, common sense prevails (which is rare! 😂) happy to have them off my back, literally! The space behind me feels empty ... I can breathe easy and not have that guilty conscience for the coming months, which is nice 😊 thank you so much for watching, Eelke, and for your kind comment! well, at least you can just leave the Angs for 6 months or so and let them grow, it seems to be working for them since they are still giving you blooms. My little Crestwood "3-Spur" is still a fraction of the size of yours (leaf length) and I don't know if that is typical for this mutation or what. It has two keikis of its own (one started last year, one this spring), so I would think that it is "mature", but who knows

    Don Miguel 🥰💐 good evening, jefe! 😆 I was glad to get this out of the way! The Crestwood almost slipped out of my hands from a gust of wind... close call there 🙆🏼‍♀️ they have my wooly blanket tonight 🤣 now, to get the west shelf moved, and then oh boy does the grow space need a makeover? Its going to be a busy couple of weeks because I also have to prepare for my summer guest. BUT, get the chiddos outside first! 🙌🏼🤸🏼‍♀️ I just google images of the 3 Spur and on instagram there is one in bloom that appears to be half the size of mine and it is in bloom. The leaves on the pic do look shorter because there is a hand in the pic that helps with the size comparison. 2 keikis!! Well, it is liking something of what you are doing, so... it should be just a question of time, no? 🤞🏼 I shall now make myself some hot chocolate, and watch the final holes of round 2. I was thinking about getting some back in the day when I was building this collection, but I don't like the thought of stressing orchids out when it gets really hot here, add my dry climate, I thought it best to not put any through that after researching the ones I wanted. I wish I could have had a crystal ball that I would loose employment because of the pandemic, then I would not have purchased certain orchids that need warmth and high light during the winter. Hola, Nina, General question: will a batch of fertilized water deteriorate, with TDS and pH numbers, over time? I make a "batch" that will last me a month? Should I expect those numbers to remain, fairly, stable during that period, of time? (Sorry for the simplicity of the question. I'm a newbie at this, and you are my fount of knowledge.

  • @NinjaOrchids

    @NinjaOrchids

    3 ай бұрын

    Hi Bruce 😍💐 while preparing batches makes our lives easier, I would advise to not prepare batches to store beyond one week, if using a synthetic water soluble fertilizer and no more than 24 hrs or 48 hrs for organic fertilizers, during the summer or winter, respectively. While we can work with the pH if there are environmental influences that may alter the pH over time, it is not 100% guaranteed that the mix will still do what it is supposed to if stored much longer (based on which kind you are using). If you want to use up any batches that you have prepared already, please always test with the pH meter and TDS meter prior to giving it to the orchids. Just to be on the safe side. If you see your container bulging, then there is a problem with the batch and I would highly recommend to open it very carefully so as to not have some kind of force coming out of the bottle due to possible gas build up. Also, store the batches out of any form of sun, in a cool, dark and dry place. I make mine fresh every time I need some, and I still make sure that the pH and TDS are what they need to be, even though I feel as though I have a good enough feel for my quantities. It is easy to get complacent in this hobby and then out of nowhere mistakes can happen. I hope this helps, even though it may not be what you wanted to hear 🫶🏼 thank you so much for trusting me with your questions, and know that your feedback is greatly appreciated, as is your support!! I hope that you are having a wonderful Saturday, Bruce 🫶🏼❤️🌸

    🙌🏼 if you don't mind, would you let me know how your batch behaves? Just to get some understanding. Always learning, Bruce.... my grandma always said, a day that passes without you having learned anything, is a waste of a day. I do not want to disappoint her 😉🥰
