Catching fish in extreme tidal conditions is never easy. And in that respect, they don't come any more difficult than fishing the River Mersey at Liverpool, where even on a small tide, the water screams through. So techniques have had to be adapted to take account of the run. Jensen II skipper Tony Parry has come up with the perfect trace, while small boat angler Phill Williams has provided the super grip leads, which between them are able to bring a more assured result. This combination however is not only for the Mersey. It could be used anywhere where fierce tidal conditions in shallow water need to be tamed.
