as a new laser owner, I really appreciate the videos that are aimed at a beginner level, and not aimed at the experts. Thanks

Thank you! I've watched some "How to" videos myself and found some of them they really didn't show me how to create the project. Glad you like the video!
Purchased a XTool D1 Pro and Air Assist and Honeycomb because of this video, Thanks.

Awesome video
What a GREAT video my friend! The only thing I wish, is probably the same wish you get from others is I have the 20 watt machine and I always search for the videos made with the 20 watt machines. Today, more and more people are upgrading to the 20 and 40 watt machines and are just like me, looking for the closer settings for our machines.

Thank you! I hear you with the newer laser modules. I try to keep up with the new tech while keeping in mind some users still retain and use the "older" equipment. We've truly seen an unprecedented leaps in laser power over the past 2 years. No promises, but I am in the early stages of working directly with XTool on creating content to bring you the latest offerings!
love your videos as I'm a beginner and when I'm experimenting I can look up for you to correct me. Thank you

Nice video and very complete. While other channels may be complete in their description and presentation they have one issue - they mostly talk TOO FAST, KZread doesn’t have a clock running so don’t know why. You presented the material at a speed at least I could follow without having to backup and replay. Thank you.
@thelaserchannel1

Thank you! And thank you for the feedback- it's great to hear the presentation speed is just right!
What are the speeds you recommend for the 40w laser d1pro? As many people here, I"m sure they are new like me. Great video. Can you do a video with clear acrylic? It seems so much different than the black. Thank you!
So no word on how long this took to cut out??
Sir, Did you make the magnets? Are they explained in a seperate video of yours? Thank You

I want to know if this machine cut gold mirror or any mirror color of acrylic 3mm? Thank you so much
@thelaserchannel1

Hi- A laser diode can only engrave the back side of an acrylic mirror. The acrylic mirrors use clear acrylic and laser diodes cannot cut. A Co2 laser can cut clear acrylics with ease.
Was this two tone acrylic? I noticed that the linked company and others sell two toned. Does a solid single tone shift colors this drastically when engraved? I hope so as the two tone is quite the jump in material cost. Thanks for the video. Cheers

The acrylic in the video is plain gloss black. The engraving shows as a nice almond white. I have engraved two-tone acrylics; gold and black. The top layer on two-tone is usually very thing to speed up the engraving process. Thanks for watching!
Tfs, I have a 1mm piece of acrylic what would the settings be?. all videos show 3mm, I have d1 pro 20w xtool. Thank you

Hi- I haven't cut 1mm acrylic. I would recommend starting at about 1/2 the power normally used for 3mm acrylic with low air assist flow. Thanks for watching!
After engraving & cutting the black acrylic do you wash off the dust or just leave it the way it is? Thanks
@thelaserchannel1
Жыл бұрын
Hi- it's a personal choice. I like to wash the acrylic first with warm soapy water. Any left over dust I clean with denatured alcohol. In the video I did not clean the acrylic to keep the video length short. Thank for watching!

@@thelaserchannel1 When I clean the dust on black acrylic the white seems duller, any fix for that?
@thelaserchannel1
Жыл бұрын
@@mikeledee8786 There's usually more dust on the engraved areas and clean can make the engraved areas look duller- maybe a cross hatching the engrave may keep it from dulling after cleaning. The other tip is to reduce the lines per inch. Engraving acrylic at a high LPI can result in less engraving appearance because the laser is re-melting the acrylic/acrylic dust and it may look smoother and not as engraved.

@@thelaserchannel1 I'll give those tips a try. 1 more question for you. What color acrylic sheets do you recommend for engraving to insert in the led base other than clear? Thanks for all your help.

What are setting for d1 pro ?
@thelaserchannel1
10 ай бұрын
Just use the same settings for the D1 Pro if you have the 10 watt laser module- if you have the 20 or higher laser module the power can be decreased by 1/2 or the speed increased by 2x! Thanks for watching!
Would this be possible engrave and cut clear acrylic?
@thelaserchannel1

Only engrave- the laser diode is not able to cut clear acrylic no matter how powerful the laser is. To cut clear acrylic a Co2 works perfectly!

@@thelaserchannel1 Appreciate the quick response. So with the diode laser, best to use black acrylic?
@thelaserchannel1

@@markpham-vivehnl6420 Correct- darker colors cut better with a diode laser (blue will not cut).
How thick was the acrylic?

Hi- I used 1/8 inch thick acrylic. Our diode lasers can only engrave/mark clear acrylic- it can't cut it. Thanks for watching!

@@thelaserchannel1 Just a clarification, diode lasers can only engrave/mark CLEAR acrylic, but it can cut black or coloured acrylic? Thanks.
@thelaserchannel1
11 ай бұрын
@@tristanw1982 Correct- a laser diode can only lightly mark clear acrylic with a masking agent- it can not cut clear acrylic. Laser diodes can cut and mark black acrylic. Colored acrylics are a little more tricky- some colors work well, some just ok and other colors like blue will not work at all. Best results are with cast acrylics- cast tends to cost a little more and works so much better than extruded. Extruded acrylics are not recommended! Thanks for watching!
