    What a GREAT video my friend! The only thing I wish, is probably the same wish you get from others is I have the 20 watt machine and I always search for the videos made with the 20 watt machines. Today, more and more people are upgrading to the 20 and 40 watt machines and are just like me, looking for the closer settings for our machines.

    Thank you! I hear you with the newer laser modules. I try to keep up with the new tech while keeping in mind some users still retain and use the "older" equipment. We've truly seen an unprecedented leaps in laser power over the past 2 years. No promises, but I am in the early stages of working directly with XTool on creating content to bring you the latest offerings!

    Nice video and very complete. While other channels may be complete in their description and presentation they have one issue - they mostly talk TOO FAST, KZread doesn’t have a clock running so don’t know why. You presented the material at a speed at least I could follow without having to backup and replay. Thank you.

    Hi- A laser diode can only engrave the back side of an acrylic mirror. The acrylic mirrors use clear acrylic and laser diodes cannot cut. A Co2 laser can cut clear acrylics with ease.

    Was this two tone acrylic? I noticed that the linked company and others sell two toned. Does a solid single tone shift colors this drastically when engraved? I hope so as the two tone is quite the jump in material cost. Thanks for the video. Cheers

    The acrylic in the video is plain gloss black. The engraving shows as a nice almond white. I have engraved two-tone acrylics; gold and black. The top layer on two-tone is usually very thing to speed up the engraving process. Thanks for watching!

  • @thelaserchannel1

    @thelaserchannel1

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi- it's a personal choice. I like to wash the acrylic first with warm soapy water. Any left over dust I clean with denatured alcohol. In the video I did not clean the acrylic to keep the video length short. Thank for watching!

    @@thelaserchannel1 When I clean the dust on black acrylic the white seems duller, any fix for that?

  • @thelaserchannel1

    @thelaserchannel1

    Жыл бұрын

    @@mikeledee8786 There's usually more dust on the engraved areas and clean can make the engraved areas look duller- maybe a cross hatching the engrave may keep it from dulling after cleaning. The other tip is to reduce the lines per inch. Engraving acrylic at a high LPI can result in less engraving appearance because the laser is re-melting the acrylic/acrylic dust and it may look smoother and not as engraved.

  • @thelaserchannel1

    @thelaserchannel1

    11 ай бұрын

    @@tristanw1982 Correct- a laser diode can only lightly mark clear acrylic with a masking agent- it can not cut clear acrylic. Laser diodes can cut and mark black acrylic. Colored acrylics are a little more tricky- some colors work well, some just ok and other colors like blue will not work at all. Best results are with cast acrylics- cast tends to cost a little more and works so much better than extruded. Extruded acrylics are not recommended! Thanks for watching!
