Do you think the leakdown test was inaccurate due to the vvt system not having oil pressure?

Very cool, learned a new thing or two about my car and it's engine watching this. Did you ever find out why the cylinder was misfiring in the older engine?

Honestly cannot remember, but it had a ton of piston ring leak down on several cylinders. Thankyou for watching and good luck with your Nissan!

@@hoodratsgarage77 I see and thank you! My last big job was replacing the timing chains, tensioners, and guides in my 2006 Pathy. It was time after 160k and the 'supercharger' whine turned into a metallic grinding sound. Cheers!

I grew up in Nampa and used to race at Glen Morgan raceway just out of Star. I just finished up swapping the 4.0 I'm my 2006 pathfinder with a 2018 4.0 from LKQ, I only changed the oil pressure sensor due to budget and used new gaskets i did not swap vvt solenoids. I'm getting a P0031 heater control circuit bank 1 P0075 intake valve control solenoid circuit bank 1 P0335 powertrain crank shaft position sensor A circuit. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey there! Glen Morgan looks like a blast, hope my 2-year-old races karts there some day! When I did the swap, I found it important to swap all of the sensors, the long blocks are the same throughout many years but many of the sensors from your original engine will bolt right up. As for the p0031 there is a good chance your donor engine took a good beating in shipping and that o2 sensor or its wiring is damaged. Our customer's engine was shipped, and most components were damaged in shipping (supplier stated that all parts had to be swapped over anyways, such as valve covers, manifolds etc. I am in no way a Nissan specialist, but with the p0335 I did see that they offer several different crank sensors for the VQ40DE and that one ranges from 2007-2015. That being said if you didn't swap sensors there is a chance you have the wrong one (the 2018 in trying to communicate to your 2006 ECU.) As for the P0075, in my video, you will see that I swap intake runners, fuel rails and intakes over, this is all due to the fact that throughout the years they had different variations, and you need the exact system for your 2006 on the 2018 engine. Any good Nissan parts dealer will be able to get you the part numbers for each component on your engine. From there you can verify if it is the part that is on the engine in your car now, if not you know what you need to do. Best of luck! -Nick

Your VVT and CKP codes could be related, I'd start just by changing the CKP sensor and cleaning your VVT solenoid, if that doesnt work maybe try swapping them but if that doesnt work its possible the cam phasers in the new engine aren't up to snuff. Is the engine running ok despite the codes?

I am about to pull my engine on my 2011 and not sure of the best way to lift it. Did you just wrap a bunch of chain around the lower intake? Looks like you did. Please let me know asap because this seems like the way.

I'm pretty sure we used longer bolts ran through the chains, into where the lower intake bolts to the cylinder head.

@@hoodratsgarage77 I took a screenshot but it looks like you just wrapped the chain around the whole lower intake. I don't think you bolted it to the intake.

Most shops around here charge an average of $100-180/hour, book time for this job is around 15-18 hours...so that gives you a ball park of the labor cost. Customer supplied the engine, but I believe it cost around $1800-$2600 shipped. Then you need things like new gaskets, thermostat, spark plugs, engine oil, etc. Honestly...the repair was probably more than the vehicle was worth, but the customer knew that going into it and decided that was what they wanted to do.
