Hey Otto Man, there's a whole heap of Live XTC Bootlegs here: archive.org/details/@dharmanovel?and%5B%5D=creator%3A%22xtc%22&sort=titleSorter I'd suggest starting with these: 1977 - November - 17 and 26 1978 - December - 8 1979 - July - 20 (Early Dave Gregory era, late for White Music songs, also showcases Dave's guitar parts more than most other boots.) 1980 - September - 7 (Black Sea tour.) 1981 - April - 17 (In-between Black Sea and English Settlement tours, but one of the best XTC shows.) 1982 - March - 7 (Not as good as March 8 due to some recording mishaps, [Real by Reel doesn't have Andy's guitar in it,] but still good.) 1982 - March - 8 (3 tapes; Rehearsal, Audience Mic [containing the first 3 tracks, counting the pre-concert music] and the Pre-FM tape.) Also, there's an XTC Discord Server, "Simpleton," if you feel like joining. It doesn't get a lot of activity, though. I don't feel like posting a direct link to it here, sorry: the last time someone did that at the Andy Partridge & XTC Facebook Page, we got a bunch of trolls bombarding the server.

Fantastic, what a great band. I actually met Andy, Dave and Colin walking down the street in NYC in 1989 and spoke with them briefly at a corner on Sixth Ave. They were in town to sing King for a Day on David Letterman's show.

Dear God, my senses are working overtime as they always do when I hear this amazing band. This is pop, so they say, but it's far more than that. There is no language in our lungs that can define the excellence of XTC. As refreshing as oranges and lemons, their passionate music could melt the guns of hostility in our lives and bring about world peace, while freeing us all of the ball and chain of musical mediocrity...... if only anyone had fucking listened!

Nice tribute Warren. XTC had everything you wanted from a band, the awesome melodies, chord progressions, lyrics, mood shifts, wry bitter-sweet sense of humour, the last goes on. Too good for the recyclable slurry of the music industry. I can't believe a sound like this, so advanced and light years ahead of their contemporaries was 45 years ago. Proud to be a forever & passionate fan.

Brilliant seminal English post-punk. I was lucky enough to see them a couple of times in this heyday era. They were not about looks, although Andy P tried; it was all about the writing and musicianship. Internationally influential stuff, and a type of Englishness to be proud of.

I’ve never seen this. I’ve been a fan of XTC since the mid-80’s. It is annoying, that shows like this, would run credits over the performance. Like “books are burning” on a British show, xtc at end, credits over, and they fade out on the song (audio on boxset, compared) If XTC would ever get in the Rock Hall, which they deserve, their induction would likely be faded too.
