That led is definitely bright. Heard about Cyclops on a VStrom forum. Just bought a new SV650 and the stock H4 sucks. Will be ordering one this week. They make full led replacement lights that were $500-$700. They're nuts. Cagers will pull out on you even in daylight, so you might as well let them really know you're coming.

It doesn't seem like the 7000 is much brighter than the 3800. But that could be because it's just on KZread. I'm in Canada so they 7000 will cost me around $130, the 3800 will be about $100. Still trying to decide

You don't have to cut the boot. Boil a pot of water and then take the water to the bike and soak the boot for 5 minutes. Then it will slip right over those plastic keys.

I'm thinking about doing this. But is it too bright for oncoming traffic? Do you get people high beaming you to turn yours off?

I keep the headlight fairing of mine. There was one time my lowbeam went out on the highway and it was at 11pm. Thankfully i kept extra bulbs in my toolbag

It's always smart to keep a spare with you! I had problems with my headlight when I first got my XT and had to learn the importance of spares pretty early on. Thanks for dropping by! ~NoOne

queation.... in reguards to the relief cuts in the rubber boot..... do you think the cuts are small enough to keep dust amd moisture ou of bulb area? I am considerimg cleaning boot , drying it well and the then upon reimstall smearing silicone over cuts. should I do this or do you think its not necessary?

  • @NoOnesWatching0_0

I think the cuts were pretty small, especially with how thick the rubber is and how small I made the cuts. Of course, running more preventatives is better than nothing, so if you have the time and willingness to do it, more power to ya! Thanks for dropping by Clarence, ~NoOne

The spacer changes the bulbs position in the headlight housing. By shifting the the bulb further back, it hits the reflecting elements in a different way. The end result is a lowbeam throw that is less likely to blind oncoming traffic, but illuminates tighter on the pavement.

Thanks for the reply. 57 is doable, I'm a fan of the more natural 4300-5000 range. 4300 k has better lumen output as well most of the time! Just for future reference. Love the bike, man. I've been missing my 2006 XT225 I sold last year and am looking to pick up a couple 250s for my brother and i to teach him to ride for his first bike (and go on a few trips once the snow melts). Mods are all tasteful and functional. Love the bike and chanel. Keep it up.

I put one of those on my DRZ but if I were to do it again I would spend a little more and get the complete JNS headlight.
