I’m 3 months in since conversion. And so far, it charges better than stock. It was a fun install! I would highly recommend.

Tc bros. Tyler you guys need to make a video of how to set up the (tdc) on this pma using a top dead center piston stop. The instructions are helpful wit the wiring and set up of the pma and the rectifier regulator but would really be appreciated if you guys could make a hands on step by step on how to make sure that you have top dead center and where to make your timing marks on the pma. I'M SURE YOU GUYS WILL BE THE FIRST TOO MAKE A VIDEO ON THIS SUBJECT AND PEOPLE WOULD DEFINITELY LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE FOR HELPING US OUT.

great job commenting and demonstrating! Is there a "W" terminal available to connect electronic tachometer?

2 jaw puller will easily remove rotor , just take up the tension and give it a good rap with decent hammer , rotor should just pop off . Advantage of old regulator is it allows extra charge if you need for spot lights etc , brushes were just a part of owning / riding the Yam . I wore out many motors back in the 80s , best engine to work on and easy to maintain ,just watch the timing and clean air filters regularly .

can i run headlight and tail light with the pma on capacitor? and what is difference between points ignition and cam timed ignition?

Off topic, try half Valvoline regular motorcycle oil and half Valvoline synthetic motorcycle oil. Better clutch feel along with smoother shifting. I buy it at the local Walmart, and replace it when the shifting starts to feel a little worse- way before 7,500 miles.

Does your rota have timing marks that the XS will use, or do you just paint lines on like the others? The general biker will get stuck swapping it all over, removing all his existing electrics and trying to find a place for the regulator rectifier to go. As you know most XS's have safety relays that get a feed from the alternator (the yellow wire on most), how will your PMA let the safety relay know the bike is running to prevent you from activating the starter accidently? I see in your instructions you mounted the reg/rec with ease on a chop but what about a standard bike? As for the timing marks your pdf answered that question, no timing marks.

Did this to my 650 after the brushes wore down to the point that it would charge when leaning the bike one way and not the other haha...the brushed lost contact when it was leaning in one direction

This is not designed fitment for an XS 650.

Might be a dumb question but would this kit also work on the xs 750? Preferably the 1978 xs 750 e

You will need to run a cam timed ignition such as pamco, boyer, or even stock points setup.
