    @@XPTeamUSA I agree his videos are good, but his detecting is in the UK and not the same as gold jewelry hunting in parks here in the US. Aluminum has probably caused many people to give up detecting. This video really helps.

    Well done D. I have had the XP Deus for a couple of months now and really enjoy it. I to have had those junk days, but started to really push myself to hear what the unit is telling me. So junk factor has dropped. This video reinforces and is very helpful to the VDI and tone nuances. Deeper targets are a bit more challenging for sure as the ground soaks up coil energy. Really enjoyed this video.

    Dave, I have been watching Dues vids for a long time and aluminum junk and can slaw has been killing me. Rarely have I seen an instructional MDing vid that will help approve my Trash to Treasure ratio and wish there was more. I'm currently hunting an old homesite that is littered with old can slaw (rusty tin cans) that hit in the high 80s. The elongation of the signal is something I haven't noticed and will put this in practice. I thank you and my knees thank you

    You can also identify steel crown caps by watching the mineralization bar. If you see more than 2 bars it will be a steel crown cap. It will be about 80% effective. Be sure ground balance and watch for nearby iron in the ground, that will negate this tip.

    Hey, this video is great !! Question though, I am new to XP, just picked up a used Deus with the 11”LF coil. I am mainly hunting older coins/ jewelry inland. I am in Oklahoma with mild soil. I would start off with the 9" X35 coil. It has the frequencies you will mostly likely use 7, 11 and 17 plus it will go as high as 28 khz which will be perfect for trashy and iron infested sites.

    First of all, good tips so thanks for doing that. However as you had us pay attention to the elongated target noise, you kept talking over it and making it hard to hear. Your point is noted and appreciated, I just wish I could have heard the difference better.......especially on the gold ring. Nice find by the way. 👍

  • @XPTeamUSA

    @XPTeamUSA

    Жыл бұрын

    The video was made for park diggers. They pretty much are looking for old coins and rings. The old stuff is going to be deep so if your working off tones listen for the faint nice sounding targets. Set your reactivity to 2.5 or 3 but remember if your in a trashy area set it to 4. If you are uncertain on an iffy signal dig it and always dig the deep iffy ones. If you start to find trash deep in the ground move on. The grounds are probably full of fill soil. If you are digging in farm fields dig all repeatable signals. Most fields are pretty clean of modern trash. If you are on an old homestead and there is a lot of iron in the ground bump reactivity to 4 and dig the repeatable signals. Are you using the ws4 headset? Where to you keep the puck? Attached to the headset or on the stem mount?

    Brooches will sound really good and repeatable. They will not be scratchy sounding or have a broken broken signal when drawing your coil back. I was on a few roman fields last month when in the UK. I dug a few relics and even though they had an odd shape the signal was very good sounding.

    Yes. The higher the frequency the higher your VDI #'s . Usually 3-5 higher. You could use ID normal with the X35 coils then your VDI #'s will be consistent regardless of the frequency. ID normal is not available with the HF coils.

    It comes from the shape of the target. When you draw back your coil of the target the tone lingers longer than a crisp short tone as a coin , button, or ring.

    Lucky Americans! You only have to dig Dollars and modern jewelry. Here in Europe we have about 6000 years of history to dig, and the technic on the video dont works. All signals in the foil range have to be dig out. You never know what shape the object in the ground is. For example a Roman fibula has a complete other signal size than a coin.

  • @XPTeamUSA

    @XPTeamUSA

    Actual it does work in the UK. Tested myself. First is the target tone, next is familiarity of the grounds being hunted. Then you need to know your metal tones. Odd shape objects with a nice tone or a deep tone are always dug. You guys are the lucky ones as far as history. Here in the states we have a bit of history ourselves. Copper spear point (3-10,000 years old. Got a nice collection of them. You ever get over here I'll take you there.
