Great video as always! I often think I've got my head around the Deus and then your videos give me something else to think about.

Ironically just sold the equinox last night and went on a club rally today wit my old trusty Deus and old 11inch coil. Put her in deep program and haven’t touched a setting since. Great day , great finds 🍻👍🏻

Another very informative video Gary. It can't be easy to keep coming up with videos that we all find interesting and helpful. I have a couple of fields that needs a going over with the Deep program, based on your video. There early field systems not full of Iron as usual with habitation sites, so signals aren't jumping out at you but when they do it's often quality artefacts. I feel a bit of XP deep programs coming on.

Gary, I wish you would try the 13x11" X35 coil on that quiet field!

Cheers for that Gary. Often found on the orx ive had to move to the deep program just to hear a bit of feedback after trying fast up in the high 90's.. interesting to see how the orx would do on that field

Great video! I did not know that the Deep program used the earlier filters. That's really great information.

Had my Deus for many years now, & my recent updating to version 5 was a great move, I haven't used the Deep setting much so far thinking it might affect smaller close surface finds, but I will be giving it a go now, like your vids Sir, keep them coming.

Gary, great lesson on the deep programme thanks. I use it on a few of my fields but I like the zoom to 3 function as the XY always puts me off. I also like the way you changed the tone im going to change mine to high as well and save it as a modified Deep programme.

hi gary, another great video, well i have been using the SONAR program, for about 1 year now, going over some old D2D done2death, permissions, ... my settings are.... SONAR, using the DEEP as my platform, only change i have made is.. REACTIVITY, 2.5 , SENS, 90, 92, using the HF ROUND COIL, & all my targets was between, 10"& 12" i have been over a 5 acre pasture site with the standard stock coils, ^ the 11" X35, but the 9" round HF in DEEP, out performed the lot, tried & tested , ATB & HH BUDDY.....👏👍😜🍻

Hi Gary! I've used deep program too, but with small modifications: disc -2.7(minus 2.7), sens 92-95, freq 12 (I've used black coil 11" x35), iron vol 3, reactivity 2-2.5, audio responce 5. But I think your settings good! I'll try to use it. Thank you!

Great video, Gary. I often switch to the Deep program to double check a signal if I get a deep/quiet one on my own settings.

Tough field that Gary, like I have said though it was a favourite of mine and others with lots of roman and hammered coins. Next time we are there we can give it a whole day on deep to see what else lurks below

When I started using the DEEP program my good finds went up. It's not as stable and I don't trust the VDI numbers because they bounce around, but that doesn't mean it's not a good target. Also one-way targets almost all came out to be good. If I start finding good targets, I try to switch to DEEP. Also I sometimes switch to a higher frequency (9" x35 coil).

I use the Deep program but switch to four tones is the medium pitch over 32, high pitch over 50. I also run disc at about -4.2 depending on the field. I'll keep sense on 92 and have reactivity either 2.5 or 3

hi gary i have been using the deus lite but have bought the remote and have been out they do work together but i was wondering do i have to pair the headphones and the remote and if so how thanks great vids by the way

Brilliant video as usual Gary, I have been following you since I bought the Deus Lite 3 years ago and tried so many different settings on 3 fast and deep 6, but my real problem is that im deaf in my left ear and as thats the headphones settings ear side I cant wear my hearing aid as it disrupts the audio that I hear. I have asked other friends on digs if they would set up 3 and 6 progs but they just say use the factory settings. Would you be willing to set up your progs on my remote if I sent it along with £20 for you, I would be ever so gratefull ..

If you lower the ground balance it will false signal when the coil hits the stubble. 👍

Hi Gary. I can't understand why you raise reactivity on such a quiet field when the coil can't get as low to the soil? I just can't see the logic? I have been using P5 gmaxx with reactivity 1 on quiet stubble and it's working excellent. I have switched to reactivity 3 and the targets are not picked up. Surely a quiet field with stubble needs lower reactivity if the iron content is low? ATB MMMD

Good shout MM , i switched to p5 as i was not having any joy on a patch which is very very quiet but has thrown up some quality medieval finds sporadically over the years , within ten minutes on gmax ping had a cracking signal and it was a Edward 1 jetton with the voided cross and shield other side .This left me scratching my head as i had smashed that are in so many different modes lol . Gmax p5 is a dark horse well underestimated .

Will there be an ubdate to ORX ?

I don't understand all the different programs Deus puts on their detectors for regular curb strip hunting. We don't have 1600's farm fields in my area!! If someone could do one video describing what HOT program, or DEEP, or FAST and their purpose. I don't know any detectorist that doesn't want to find those deep old coins!! But to understand their differences would be advantageous!! I'm still trying to set my machine up so that the deeper targets don't sound like the shallow ones. I am thinking 'audio response' is key to that!!

put the Audio response to 3 and you hear the shallow to deep range very good!

Hello. I have the Deus Lite. Version 5.21. Tell me, if I make 2 identical programs, the first based on Deus fast, and the second based on the 6 program depth, will they differ in the depth of detection? Both programs have exactly the same settings.

Да, они будут отличаться по глубине. Это определено тем, что 6-я программа имеет свои фильтра обработки. Глубокая будет глубже при прочих равных.

Had an ORX, just bought the Deus, tried the deep program, did not understand the lines, and could not see the VDI numbers, its not easy getting old.

@@treasurehunteruk8080 I still have my deus, wish I waited for the D2. I created a program mostly for US coins and mostly go by tones, then check the TDI numbers. I do not use the Deus much anymore, bought the Legend, the numbers are easier for my old eyes to see.

@@SuperJupiter33 Yes, I still have the deus 1, I love it. I also still have the legend but do not use it much, as I do not believe it is as good as the Deus. I just bought the Manicore and, like the Legend, it has readable numbers.

I noticed you never checked silencer. If it goes up, it cuts depth.

That would depend on target size, metal type and soil conditions, it just isn't a simple straight line on these background settings ;)

@@neilcleveland7522 Thanks but I have tested. Changes to some settings automatically changes silencer. It doesn't matter what settings you are using, if silencer goes up, depth is restricted somewhat. It's why I only use program 1 and adjust it wide open before starting (not talking beach). You get the best depth the Deus can get, that way. Obviously, each patch of dirt means I have to make changes.

@@hubsi5263 No mate. It depends on a few things you change as to where silencer ends up. Seeing silencer on 1 or more with reactivity at 2.5 before.

If you want to use the deep program, why are you increase reactivity? And we know that high reactivity = less depth.. 👌💪

Only on a test bed, in many situations the ground will mitt allow a slow reactivity you will hear false signals.

Да это лох какойто он увеличил скорость реагирования до 3 а это автоматически урезает глубину ! Плюс ходи по полю где стерня после пшеницы и не дает катушку приблизить к земле !!!! ходит и расказывает какое чистое поле
