General program worked best in my soil this last winter and spring. I realized deepHC falsed a lot on pockets of minerals when the ground was wet. That ground subtraction works awesome. Thanks for the videos Gary!

I have been using the general program on the playground cleanups this spring. it is a great program to be used anywhere. I was so busy making custom programs i did not look close enough at the general program. thanks again for sharing.

Greetings from across the pond. Every time I watch one of your videos, I always pick up on some of your suggestions, and it makes my metal detecting experience that much better! I’m going to try to use general program on the beach, keeping in mind what you just demonstrated with reactivity. 👍

Many thanks for creating this video! I tried out your settings with a few variations. Instead of 3 tones, I used 4 tones and adjusted the tone breaks specifically for the various American coin compositions. I also used 881 for the highest tone. Anyway, I tried the settings in one my favorite heavily hunted, iron loaded old elementary school grounds. I was amazed by how well this setup was just smashing deeper, high-conducting targets out of this environment. Plus setting 881 for the highest tone is music to my ears as well! I'm really looking forward to trying this setup in my other favorite "hunted out" sites. Thanks again!

Love the way raising the pitch on the third tone really helps in noisy ground. Tried it yesterday on a very noisy small section and (with reactivity increased to 4) wheedled out 2 rose farthings, an Edward farthing and a Charles I half groat. Thank you, great tips.

Hello, I am a former longtime Whites user, and 4 months ago bought the XPDeus 2...tool the plunge. Mainly it was your calm, concise and detailed videos that led me to the decision, and Calabash digger and some others. I lived in Europe 6 years and knew the French and European build quality...and are the relic kings of detectorists. It was a no brainer to get the new machine. After taking it to over 10 previously hunted sites I thought were drained...the XP found LOTS of coins and relics. Freaking unreal. I started off using the General program for a few weeks, and now mainly use the Fast program These new episodes that are covering each program....great idea ! This one is just as great. You guys are the pros...I know it. Thanks for putting out Quality!

Interesting to hear what you said about the sounds. I had a silver hammered coin yesterday on pea stubble and, being on the xy screen, I didnt check the numbers but I knew it was the best sound all day. Really crisp sound. On a new machine its vital to listen and learn to the sounds every target makes.

Hello Mate👋🏻 That's been quite impressive to me! I used a Fisher F-75 for Years and came across the XP DEUS 2 recently. It was like Rocket science and witchcraft in One 😂 However, since i watch your Videos, i've learned already a Lot about my XP DEUS and had already some practise to deepen that knowledge and getting more friendly with that Magic Stick 🤗👍🏻 Thank's a Lot ! 🍀

Hi Gary :) Nice conversing with you again . I met you up in New York a few years back at Pound the ground. Can I make a suggestion for you to possibly try. On videos like this when you make Settings changes. Why not have two Deus's there . One with the factory settings then the other with the changes you make. Then when you show a new change you can always go back and show the factory settings. Hope you liked the silver dollar and the lighted jewlers loop :)

I have a coin program based on General and it works very well.

Just working my way through your brilliant vids, due to get my Deus 2 in the next couple of days, but watching this, and you setting tone to 881, setting volumes etc, would I be right in saying that once the machine is powered off it will revert back to the defaults?

Just got my Deus II and Im so excited to test it out tomorrow on a ground we have hit hard with garret apex and legend, we have dug out many old spanish coins and relics and I think the Deus II will find more on that same site!, thanks for these instructional videos. So If Im correct Deep HC would work best in a soil that is not that wet, but General would work best in wet soil correct?

I have a problem with the grand balance on Deus II ...I use Grab and when I pump my grand is always less than 70, in some rare cases it is 74 - 75.. so at that number, Deus is completely restless and it is difficult to work with him..my question is do i have to pump or can i leave the starting number 87 ...Greetings from Belgrade Sinisa...

Deus Mono in 2/tone 17Khz, reactiviy 3 202/881 but that's just my personal choice.

I’m confused. Your friend said that the target was ringing up a 23, and you said that was a water halo effect number, but his machine was actually reading 32. So, is that still in the halo effect? How big of a range is this effect? Also, he was using Deep HC, but he didn’t say what reactivity and sensitivity settings he was using, but he did say he had adjusted it. I know the standard HC reactivity setting (2.0) is already a deeper setting than General’s (2.5) reactivity. So, when he switched to General, the target may have disappeared just because they weren’t adjusted the same.

It was showing 22 but the camera only caught the screen at the end of the sweep. You can notch out the halo on any program.

@@The-skillschool Was it really the effect of the halo or a deep target? I have done depth tests and at the detection limit, on some occasions, it shows the numbering 23. Did you hit the target? if so, what was it? Greetings and thanks for your videos.

The goal disappeared because the general program did not reach such a deep goal.

hi Gary what programm can help me in iron area,to perceive the iron as best as possible?

I have just got the Deus 2. I am currently water hunting freshwater swimming areas. Would the general program be good there or is there a better program for that type of hunting?

Hi Chris, yes I like to use the General program for fresh water hunting, we will have a video out very soon on that subject.

Used it yesterday I like it but a few changes also like lowering discrimination

How can we tell what version update is on our head phones ? I have 2 Deus 2's They each came with the ws6 puck. Then lAATER i bought 2 sets of the WSA II XL's I have been mainly using the wsa II's but how do i know what version of a update is on them ?

Hello Gary, thanks for the learning video again. I run into the following problem and don't trust the Deus II at the moment. I have been running with an XP detector, Gmaxx II, Deus 1 and ORX for many years and now for a few weeks with the Deus II. I've searched with it four times now, twice a whole day. where I have had an empty battery twice now in the 9 inch disk after 6 and a half hours the battery is empty. I have never had an empty battery with any other XP detector after a day of searching. With the old Deus 1 "which is now 6 years old" I still walk for 12 hours or more without any problems. *GENERAL* program with minor adjustment such as sens and reactivity. After 6 and a half hours the disk battery is empty. I hope you have an answer to this and whether this has to do with the Multi-Frequency. The Deus has been updated to the latest version.

I think the power drain problem may be you have all the volumes turned up. If you are using the WS6 for example, make sure the volumes are off for all the other audio, such as speaker, wired headphones and bone conductive.

Вышел на пресный пляж с эквиноксом 800 (катука 6") и деусом 2 (катушка 9") прошивка 0,71. Ноксом (парк 2, мульти) поднял обрывок цепочки. Деус 2 на проге пляж чувствителный не видит её в упор. Только на моно режиме в 45кГц показывает с вди 23-26., но настройки не ходовые по воде, разве по сухому... Вопрос. Как открыть эти сектора в проге пляж чувствительный? Метка снята, дискрим в минусе до упора чувствитеность соли на 9, шумодвы убраны, скорость ноль. Походу их пофискали програмно? Переименовать прогу надо в пляж кастрированный))) Пробовал вторую программу настраивать. Видит хуже немного чем в моно но глючит при поиске страшно, ложняки какраз в секторах 24-28. Стабильно начинает работать если скорость поднять до 1,5.., но тогда и цепочки мимо. Вот вам и деус 2((( Крупные цепочки с вди выше 30ти да, более мелкие - болт

JUst bought a remote on the 1.1 update had an excellent audio signal for a good target looked at remote shown 30 both ways. Dug it. It was coke. This on general std prog. It seems on this update the audio does not match the numbers. On deus 1cand orx coke sounds low and scratchy so you don't need to look at numbers. Deus two there seems an issue with the sound and vdi numbers similarly with iron. Bit perplexing help

Thanks for the video! My question pertains to if it’s raining and you’re detecting in the park under wet conditions. If the ground is pretty wet would you better off in General instead of Park mode? I wonder how much the wet grounds would contribute to the halo effect? Thanks mate 👍

Park mode in the rain with damp, wet, saturated ground vs General mode same conditions. Sound like I should make a video 😁 If I was a betting man I would say General wouldn’t be any better than Park mode. DHC is another story. Every circumstance is different I know. I never bothered with General mode. To me it was a wasted program. But, from your video it seems quite useful under certain circumstances 👍
