The only thing I love more than woodworking is barbecue and my favorite way to cook it is on a kamado grill. After I got my XL Big Green Egg, I just had to build a stand worthy of it. Made from Sapele, this stand is beefy enough to take the substantial weight of a large ceramic grill and then some. The cloud lifts in the rails hint at Greene & Greene influence and take the humble BGE Table to a whole new level. I designed the table specifically for an XL Big Green Egg but you can certainly adapt it to any size or brand kamado you like. I also made sure the stand is compatible with the protective covers Big Green Egg makes for their own tables. How is the Osmo One Coat Only finish working one year later?
The circle cut out would make a great side table for drinkies!!

@goggles789 Adds another +2 defense when paired with the BGE sword.
What a great project! Lots of useful technique incorporated here and sweet extras that make this stand out. The gravy was replacing the handle and having your logo CNC’d on there. The tips, tricks and traps make it even better. You have the heart of a teacher! Keep building!
You should make an outdoor cofee table with the leftover circle
What an absolutely beautiful build !! Love that you took the time to add some elegance to the cross supports and the curved ends of the table top. Life is better with curves !! Well thought out and a perfect balance of art and utility.
Looks amazing! I have loved my big green egg for years. I built a table out of redwood and found a scrap cut of raw edge green granite to use for the top. I’ve loved it. Every BGE owner should build a table for it to nest in.
As a weekend woodworker and a BGE XL owner, I like everything about this video.
Love my xl. Gets used 3-4 times a week. Beautiful table Marc.
Great Video Marc..I’ve had a Big Green Egg for many years and have wanted to build a table for it... now I can. I really enjoy the channel and the guild. I’ve only been woodworking for a couple of years and I have learned so much from your teaching. Thank you so much for all you do for the woodworking community. Have a GREAT Weekend... Greg

Thanks Greg. Appreciate your support!
Wonderful project-------beautiful outcome!!!!!! thank you for sharing.
Sapele is a fantastic wood! One of my favorites, it cuts so well. And the ribbon stripes are gorgeous
Awesome project marc. Love the level of profesional you are at.
Great build and a very clean design. Very nice! I built mine a year ago out of Cedar. Its worn well and very sturdy.
Thank you Marc for all your videos, you have taught me so much over the past year and a half.
Hello, great video with lot of tips to learn wood working, I build last year my big green egg furniture and with the off cut, I build a tray, adding a cold bonded border to try the technic. It do a perfect match when cooking.
Glue up the leftover circle and make a big outdoor clock.
Love it, gonna have to give those plans a go!
Been following you for years now. Unfollowed a few years ago cause I thought back then it was a lot about "selling stuff" but well, we all have to make a living. I started following your videos again months ago and all I can say is: there are a lot of people doing woodworking on youtube you you are certainly the best one. The attention to details, the ideas, originality... And believe me, I've been watching a lot of people/things.
Amazing quality of work,as all of your projects,in one of the most beautiful species of wood !!!
Great build Marc. The round cut out would be a nice table top. Love the dog. Thank you for sharing and please stay healthy.
Beautiful work!,you should be on television seriously,Cheers from Toronto Canada!

No way!! Television would ruin his show with an overzealous producer. Marc's videos are great because he is the producer!
absolutely beautiful work
I have a Large Egg and my wife was generous enough to buy the Big Green Egg table with it. It's a very nice table also! Get their cover and the finish will last longer. Thanks for the upload :)
Love that wood. Perfect for this application.
Amazing work! So many useful techniques in just one video!
Very nice, one of the best BGE tables I’ve seen. You are very talented.
Stunning piece Mark!
"A pool that will probably be in the garbage in a week". Yep, all us parents know that's so true 😂. Preach it Mark!
That is an amazing piece of work you are a master.
Another great video mark. Thanks for the inspiration. Working on starting my own channel now.
Amazing, looks awesome!
Looks like a nice grill and table & That scrap circle would make a cool outdoor clock to go with the furniture!
Really enjoyed the build, Marc!
Wow great job Marc.
The leftover circle would make a great complimentary end table for the patio. Great build My Friend👍
That looks great! I'm pretty sure the offcuts want to be a side table - perfect to set down the finished product and a grown-up beverage when the grilling is done!
I will use this for my Webber Kettle 22". Thanks for the video
That turned out awesome! I'd like to build one for my BGE XL but my patio is too small. I would make a high-top table out of the circle cutout.
The off cuts from the top for the hole looked like a perfect top for a little matching folding (or not folding) table.
Amazing! You are, without blowing smoke up your tail side, a great role model that I and I’m sure many look up to with all your knowledge in this business!!! Thanks for taking the time to make the videos! PS - show this table in use, what’s for dinner??
Really a sturdy great work!
You should make a barbecue side table to your utensils for barbecuing. Looks awesome as always great job Marc
Hi Marc. I was inspired by this video to make a table for a friend for his mini kamado grill. Similar design but with a mid shelf. Unfortunately I can’t seem to be able to upload a photo. But thanks for all your help. Keep up the great work
Love it. Glad you swapped out that other smoker for the real Big Green Egg. I bought the large BGE for myself years ago and than bought my brother the Extra Large. He is a crazy BBQ man. I need the table :) Maybe he should make one for me since, you know, I bought him the Extra Large BGE!
Another idea for the left over circle ... a base for the Italian marble statue of your “sweet Italian man flesh” you will sculpt and put in your front yard. After appropriate placement of your logo of course.
I'm loving those clamps!
Mini egg table or beer table with the off cut or a serving table - so many options Mark
Thanks for such a nice and inspirational build .Could we see a jewellery box from them off cuts 👍👍
Plans purchased! I’m planing on getting a portable BBQ for our tiny yard and something like this would work great as a table for it, I will resize and NOT cut the hole ;). Thanks Marc!

Well done 👍
Good stuff! Those grills are great too
Super travail ça a l'air tellement facile quand c'est fait par un pro.
Nice Marc! May do this for my Kamado Joe.
Make a high top bar table with the off cut circle. Great looking project Marc.
Not sure what I'm more jealous of... The awesome stand or the Big Green Egg.
that living room is dope!
Nice looking table.
Holy shnikes, check out those guns at 16:00-end! Hehe lookin good Marc. You’re gonna make so many great memories for your family with this grill and table. Great video and explanations as always.
Excellent work! You should try the argentine meat , "asado", with a rich malbec mendocino. Thanks for your beautiful tutorial. Hug from Córdoba, Argentina!
I just wanted to say your awesome. I love all of your videos they are very clear and informative and easy to follow. You are a definite positive influence in my shop and I thank you. And p.s I challenge u to Mario cart on n64 anytime anyplace!

haha thanks Paul!
this looks like the acacia table! so beautiful
I have a folding metal table that I bet is darn close to the diameter of that circular cutoff. I mainly use it as supplemental prep space by my grill! Folds up like a TV tray. That could be a cool use for that wood.
Wow.. your tool very wonderful..😀
Another great video from the 🐐!
You should make a matching Resting/Prep Table if you do not use the smaller egg like the beginning shot
I would use the off cuts to make a matching circular table for the kids to snack off or to put a couple of potted herbs on for cooking (basil, rosemary, and oregano).
That cut out from the Green Egg would make a perfect little top for a garden side table
That’s a great build. I’ve been wanting to do something similar for my Kamado Joe. You mentioned only smoking with the Green Egg. That’s too bad because pizzas on these things come out fantastic!!! If you try it, make sure you get high-heat dough. Otherwise, doesn’t workout well.
Professionally made! Perfect. Bur you need all thinkable tools to build.
What a beautiful and sturdy table. If only I was this skilled lol. I own a BGE XL as well. I originally bought it with the table as a bundle. The BGE brand table. Worst mistake ever. Didn’t last at all. Within 3 months the bolts holding it tight loosened up and the table had so much when it was moved. Not to mention the wheels were way to small and not nimble at all. Thankfully my local Ace Hardware was able to warranty it out and I got a integgrated nest with side tables.
👍👍👍Thanks for a nice and interesting video.
That came out beautiful. I wish I had the skills and the tools to make something like that. I was wondering if you can make another table. Using construction grade lumber and screws LOL.
Hey Marc, I heard you mention that you would sometimes pre-finish some parts before assembly. If you were to do that while using domino joinery and using osmo or rubio monocoat do you just tape off the sections around the mortise being glued or how would you do that. Thanks!
What kind of paint do you recommendfor a those tables for outdoors
The cut out circle would make a great side table!
Hey Mark. Love your stuff. I wish to build an enclosure for my Weber two burner gas grill into a "station" to be mounted inside a deck railing bay. I want to use stainless roll flashing to clad over a 2x10 cut to 2x9 ish using 12" roll flashing. These will essentially be wings off the grill for plates etc. Will flashing told up? Thought I'd epoxy or 3M spray adhesive on the 9" side, then bend over the edges. Thoughts? Mental healthcare recommendations?
With the leftover I'd do a bistro height table that matches this build.
Looks great! I'm curious, why did you switch back miter saws from the Dewalt?
Nice build. Although I have a table for my BGE, and updated to a nicer table like this may be in my future
Hey. I want to built something similar with my weber kettle. Is there any tip for protecting the top timber from the heat of the kettle itself?
Very nice dude! Smoke it up.
I really like you subtle comments in the videos they always makes me laugh. Awesome build bdw
Use the left over pieces from the top to make a small round end table to go with the grill cart.
Building a similar table for my BGE but using white oak that has been air drying from a tree I had cut down. Do you have a recommendation for finish? Should I leave it bare or use a similar process that you did? I'm not sure about the amber color of the spar varnishes. Thanks!
love it! I had one that came with my big green egg. I have to make one for my Kamado Joe now. also, i thought you got rid of the kapex for a normal dewalt?
Where do I go to get my own spiral "uncut" bit?
You could use a router lift to raise and lower the egg for cooking at higher temperatures!
Haha you went back to the kapex, knew you couldn't resist it too long
l'm from iran.It's very good.Good luck.
The circle cut-off would make a nice side table to hold your beer. :)
Great project. You can’t have too many clamps.
Hi there! Wow beautiful work. I just purchased a used Large BGE. How how are you selling the tables?
Where can I purchase the "Sweet Italian Man Flesh" t-shirt? I love watching your videos. I always learn something new. Thank you for the time and effort you put into these.
AWESOME
I am curious as to why you only used the MDF templates to draw the lifts and not to pattern route the pieces as well. Heck of a nice build!
I made a table like this out of dimensional lumber and decking and used the same feet/nest thing to set egg on. Mine has been cooking screaming hot tons of times over the years and haven’t had any trouble with the bottom getting too hot. I’m curious now and want to see how hot it actually gets. My guess would be not very as the bottom is where cold air gets pulled in.
Didn’t know I wanted an egg and this table but now I know I want an egg and this table
Cut the drop in half and have two extensions that hinge up on the sides to extend the working area whilst keeping the original stored profile for the cover.
Marc, the slats on the left side of the egg dont "flap"? How do you keep them from bending inwards? Looks great
@woodwhisperer
4 жыл бұрын
If they flap, I did something wrong. :) There's not much material there and the tenons are deep enough to keep them secure.
Which dust collection attachment are you using for the M18 router? Is it working well?
@woodwhisperer
4 жыл бұрын
The one that came with it. Seems to work pretty well so far. Works better when a hose is connected. :)
