The only thing I love more than woodworking is barbecue and my favorite way to cook it is on a kamado grill. After I got my XL Big Green Egg, I just had to build a stand worthy of it. Made from Sapele, this stand is beefy enough to take the substantial weight of a large ceramic grill and then some. The cloud lifts in the rails hint at Greene & Greene influence and take the humble BGE Table to a whole new level. I designed the table specifically for an XL Big Green Egg but you can certainly adapt it to any size or brand kamado you like. I also made sure the stand is compatible with the protective covers Big Green Egg makes for their own tables. If you want to make your own XL Big Green Egg Table, check out our plan and templates. thewoodwhisperer.com/store

Looks amazing! I have loved my big green egg for years. I built a table out of redwood and found a scrap cut of raw edge green granite to use for the top. I’ve loved it. Every BGE owner should build a table for it to nest in.

What a beautiful and sturdy table. If only I was this skilled lol. I own a BGE XL as well. I originally bought it with the table as a bundle. The BGE brand table. Worst mistake ever. Didn’t last at all. Within 3 months the bolts holding it tight loosened up and the table had so much when it was moved. Not to mention the wheels were way to small and not nimble at all. Thankfully my local Ace Hardware was able to warranty it out and I got a integgrated nest with side tables.

Hey Mark. Love your stuff. I wish to build an enclosure for my Weber two burner gas grill into a "station" to be mounted inside a deck railing bay. I want to use stainless roll flashing to clad over a 2x10 cut to 2x9 ish using 12" roll flashing. These will essentially be wings off the grill for plates etc. Will flashing told up? Thought I'd epoxy or 3M spray adhesive on the 9" side, then bend over the edges. Thoughts? Mental healthcare recommendations?

I made a table like this out of dimensional lumber and decking and used the same feet/nest thing to set egg on. Mine has been cooking screaming hot tons of times over the years and haven’t had any trouble with the bottom getting too hot. I’m curious now and want to see how hot it actually gets. My guess would be not very as the bottom is where cold air gets pulled in.
