Nice work...try starting a ht lead off with a self tapping screw....milliputt or jb weld works well with tanks

Just a thought put a self tappin=g screw with a rubber o ring in the hole then putty on top .

Thanks Paul. I did try that the first time but the metal is to thin to tighten the screw. Hopefully this will last if not I'll try the jb weld stuff cheers for the comment buddy 👍

When starting mine after a few weeks (or even months) I press the starter for 1-2 secs then release. I can hear the fuel pump ticking then stop. Initially the ticking is fast. Keep doing this as it allows the pump to pressurise the supply to the carbs without constantly cranking the engine. It normally starts after 3-4 cycles and it doesn't hammer the battery.

Hi John. I believe many paint thinners leave oily residues, wich will be bad for the chanses that the putty will stick to the tank for very long if it is the case. Maybe use some alcohol next time? Best of luck (with everything)!

Hi Kurbits. I didn't realise that l use that stuff as panel wipe before and sometimes the paint would go bad. Now I know why. 👍 cheers mate.. Look after yourself buddy. 👍
