Read my comment again. I know that they are deliberately being monotonous and drab which is what I find pretentious. The irony is that people with little intelligence and insight reduce everything to either "dumb" or "good". Consider whether you know what the writer means before making a comment that so wonderfully betrays you as a moral weakling who smacks of no back bone.
