You deserve the best! Liked and subscribed. Such detail, attention with the video creation, care with the review and comparison. Really underrated video for its quality. As a Brazilian, I'm really proud of Hugo (we have two Hugo legends in Brazil, Calderano and Hoyama) and I'm really glad that I found your video earlier. I consider myself as a good beginner/bad intermediate player, and was about to buy IceCream AZX. But after watching this video and seeing how fast the AZX is, I'm going with the Calderano HAL and Omega VII Pro (BH)/Omega VII Tour (FH). What's your thought? Thanks a lot!!

Hi, thanks for the Sub! I think that setup with the Hugo blade will be great for you, but that all depends on your style. The Xiom AZX requires a bit of good technique to control. The Hugo HAL blade is great, although I feel like it lacks a little bit of dwell time and it’s a little fast. Although, the Xiom icecream AZX(i), is a dream. The Azxi offers amazing control and a really good defense game. You will make more shots on the table, although some complain it’s a bit slow. I’m still not sure why I switched away from the AZXi, but it is still my favorite blade to date.

Switched from liushiwen zlf to Hugo sal two days ago liking it so far . For beginners I think it's good to use all wood blade before any composite blade to train your feelings with the ball and different techniques then step up to composite blade I went from all wood > carbon(mainly zlf both inner(innerforce, apolonia,) and outer(,nuytinic Cedric) by different brand) > all wood > zlf (cus there are more feeling and dwell and you can control how much strength u wanted to use) > sal (pretty much the same but with a little speed boost and it makes all the difference tbh) Good vid tho

Great video, thanks! I own XIOM HAL for some months already and find it a great blade if you are looking for larger strokes, more "frank" and straightforward so to say... great speed on mid distance, and further, and amazing control on the short game. Really amazing. The noticeably increased dwell time compared to viscaria, maze performance, Korbel, etc, for instance, allows you for larger strokes, and its relative flexibility gives you a sort of whip effect, blasting speed if you go for it, and at the same time very slow racquet on the short game if you need it so. It has a really big sweet spot so it forgives many non-accurate and out-of-timing strikes. In any case, it´s recommended for use with hard rubbers. I use it with Fastarc G1 on both sides for a safer throw arc and also since my level can´t handle more speed. I´ve read somewhere Hugo uses Omega 7 Tour. The other incredible aspect it has is the feeling of the impact of the ball. You do get very clear feedback whether you´ve hit it in the center or maybe a little off. So that "unconscious" automatic system of precision improvement of striking technique can continue along as good (or perhaps even better?) than with an all-wood blade (which I´ve played for a long time), at least in my experience. From what I´ve read and tried myself, Carbon blades, to the detriment of looking for speed and bigger sweet spot generally dumps this feedback feeling. For sure there are some carbon blades I haven't tried that have a good feeling as well? I wouldn't know. So, I think HAL is also really good for players who are still developing their techniques, as I am. Its Building quality is outstanding, and weight and balance feel just great. Hope it helps! Have a good training!!

You forget to mention that the azxi is an alc-zlc blade also. I was about to purchase that blade but went for a butterfly innerforce harimoto alc instead. Getting it within a day or two if I don't like it I'm gonna switch for the azxi and go for s spin. Using nittaku fastarc G-1 on.fh and butterfly 05fx on BH. Might try out some other rubbers soon also. Kinda curious on the new tibhar fx-d instead of 05fx and might try our rasanter 47 on FH.

@@dfy So i bought the blade 2 days ago after testing it for roughly 2 hours in the tt shop. I tested it with Fastarc G-1 (2mm) on both sides because that's what i play on my primorac blade. Although very expensive, it was amazing, i just had to buy it! I was worried, that the blade would be too fast and hard to control and therefore be bad for my further developement. But it feels just as controlled as my primorac (which is a very controlled 5ply wood) in the short game and serve recieve but at the same time is much faster in the attacking shots but still very precise. I also like the feedback of the blade as it still got an all wood feeling due to the carbon being on the core. I think it also helps that the outer wood layer, Limba, is the same as my previous blade. Let's see after a few more training sessions, but i don't think i will regret my decision. Thanks for the recommendation! Edit: I also got to test BTY Innerforce ALC to compare it to the AZXi. The innerforce felt very nice as well, very controlled but it is much slower as the AXZi. At the same time, azxi had just as much control and felt much better to play with.
