Time to visit Suzhou again after 20 years! Exquisite...

Venice is Venice. Suzhou is Suzhou . Why does anyone always say Suzhou is the Venice of China! Venice is not Suzhou of Italy either. The history, beauty and uniqueness behind these two cities has their own identities.

Well, yes, your point is right but the reason they say it is The Venice of the East is because people from the Occident generally have no idea of China and Suzhou so saying it is Venice of the East, Orient or China gives them a idea what breed of destination it is. And plus, it both has canals even though they are vastly different.

Absolutely love visiting beautiful China. Your focus on the gardens & Suzhou are superb. My next visit will be Suzhou, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Guilin, Lijian & Fenghuang. I believe the real issue is that beautiful China is full of beauty both traditional & modern. 🇺🇸❤️🇨🇳

Suzhou is older than Venice which makes Chinese Water Cities the oldest in the world.

Venice of the east? Sounds like New York is Manila of the west.

Decent production, however it would’ve been better if an English speaking Chinese journalist delivered the content.

I agree with you, she does a good job and attracts a larger audience. After watching quite a few mini documentaries today, I find it interesting how most of the narrators/journalists/commentators don’t seem to be locals.
