I also had an extra Signal LInk USB here for my FT 897ND. I put it on the X108G as these two radios take the same 6 pin data plug..... Works Great DE Greg WA3GM

Nice job Eric! I am using the Kx3 with the WSJT-X with rig control on my little Dell Latitude 2120. Also looking to try it on my FT817nd. With the rig control capability, no signalink needed. Hope to see a lot more guys working the digital modes while portable. I really enjoy these two rigs and FT8 is another mode to go after contacts. Been doing PSK31 portable for a while using Fldigi. 73 and thanks for helping the world!

I have used the KX3 which is fun rig, but was afraid to have to service it from Europe, so I sold it and made cash. Not the same price range then the 108, KX3 is definitely better for sure (and has also 6m). 73, Chris ha7wx

I just ordered the connect systems version of this radio from CS - which is on sale over the Turkey day weekend !! I Can’t wait to get started with it and I’m thinking / hoping that with firmware updates this might again be a great radio to explore both digital modes and QRP. I’m wondering if I can get the SM1000 from Rowtel to work with it (allowing me to to freeDV without a PC)

Is there a "DarK Mode" for HRD and DM780? The White backgrounds of these apps as shown causes too much eye strain and operator fatigue IMHO.

Where did you find the pre-made cables for the accessory interface?

I could get the radio to TX but the audio would not go thru even showing the correct sound card any ideas ?

I'm curious if the same connections could be used with RemoteHams so you could run the rig remotely?

Question have FTDX-1200 to singalink to computer. Computer win10 and it doesn't show any comports. I am stumped. Trying to run FLdigi. In system sound Input - line 2 ...usb audio codec Out put speakers 2- usb audio codec. In the sound control panel I see no comports.

Thinking about using the 108G for RTTY, PSK31 and WSPR. I may get a cable made for me (8-pin). But, usually in those modes the radio is set for "DIG". The X108G doesn't have that option. Do you leave it in AM? Thanks!

Eric, I have had a hard time with the drivers for the X108G. It is not showing on my computer. I downloaded the files, and tried to get it to work following your directions with HRD. The computer is not seeing the X108G. I'm running windows 10. Do you have any suggestions. I'm trying to get on digital for the first time. wouldn't work with my pi either...

Did you finally get it working on Windows 10? Mine only works with Windows 7

I have it connected via homemade cable and it downloads and decodes yet it does not seem to transmit at all. It says it is but my signal goes nowhere if anyone has any ideas?

Thank you so much for this Video. I have a 108G and there are so many aborted attempts at using it for HRD and other software. I can now run digital on my little rig with my aspire one. My big stumbling block is that i cant make the RAR file work. I downloaded it but have no idea how to uncompress it or what ever i have to do.Thank you.

On the RAR File you have to unzip it with winzip and then click on the executable file to download the driver. As soon as I did this all was good DE WA3GM

Easy answer: it's 1 kg and highly portable. Not to mention it has a better receiver than the 817, more indicators on 1 screen at a glance, and 20W not 5W. Makes the difference in SSB. And, if it was not enough, it now has the SWR graph. Disclaimer: i am the last one to buy Chinese stuff, but, i gave the 108 a try, has a bit bassy audio on LSB, but it is still good for communication. I'll sell mine to get the latest with the graph, while portable every gramm counts. Sure, not a KX from Elecraft (have tried one), but not the same price range. they have stopped production and I am seeing them for sale at $300, mine is fantasic! runs great in digital mode AND works right with 20 watts

Do NOT buy this radio if you want to do PSK or any other digi modes on a windows 10 64bit machine! It will NOT work, there are NO working drivers for the micro usb CAT port!!!!!!!!!

Eric do you have maybe a old windows 10 version? They changed the driver recognizen somehow in newer updated windows 10 machines. I can not get it to work.

Actually that's not true. Simply using a Virtual Com Port Driver I got it working on Windows 10.
