Don't know other country. But it's pretty common in China as long as you don't block other drivers. Because it's a parking lot not regular roads. it's much safer in case of any unpredictable situation.

The China cars that went to Thailand, RHD and manufactured there, got all the clever self driving and self parking thingy taken out. Some of them the China versions have the radar panel in the front wing of the car and the top, but it's all missing from the ones in Thailand.

Impressive. It parks faster than the park assist on my Hyundai Ioniq 5. Except that it took forever to get to the final parking spot, it seems that the car skipped a lot of potential parking spaces. Or do you choose a parking space yourself? I would say that automatic parking is still first gen tech, but this one is rather well executed.

Don't know for sure, but I think it was looking (or set to) a parking spot with a charger for the e-vehicle. The spots it passed were just ordinary parking spots, while the level where he finally parked had e-chargers.

It’s kind of like a robot cleaner. You have to park it yourself first and the car will gather the surrounding information and generate a map of this parking lot.

We are thinking too much in old ways, modern parking Systems don't need people to have a Place for their car. A modern Place would charge automatically the car and have Storage for more Cars in a small place. We don't need smarter Cars there, we need smarter Systems to Park the car.

I'm skeptical this actually works in the general scenario for any parking garage. This is one of the most complicated garages. Even a human unfamiliar with the layout would be confused! Not even most State of the Art LLMs are not smart enough yet to figure out how to navigate that garage. Most likely this is a premapped demonstration to navigate the garage to the desired parking space. The parking in the space probably works in the general case since most other cars have that capability as well.

I mean I'm pretty sure this particular carpark shown in this video was previously laser-mapped professionally by the mall owners, and probably with 5G repeaters mounted onto walls around the carpark to augment the vehicle's positional accuracy (after all satellite GPS doesn't work underground).

1) people are waiting for new models, especially on model y. 2) although Tesla recently dropped prices, the model 3 and model y inventory price are actually higher than the previous months. 3) The same model is 5k - 10k cheaper in China. Why would I pay more buying an American product in US? Tesla knows all these facts about simply chooses to ignore all of them because of Elon’s ego.

The Chinese car manufacturers are receiving many billions of dollars in subsidies by the Chinese communist party/government to even sell their cars at a loss in order to compete with other automakers and disrupt the market. Yet they are still plagued with quality control issues and Chinese EVs are still somewhat prone to catch on fire. Makes one wonder if they can overcome these issues undoubtedly caused in part by the rampant corruption and overtake a large part of the market. Also I’m pretty sure BYD ((previously) BMW copycat) has overtaken VW as the market leader in china.
