These phones have the same physical hardware as other xaiomi phones that are not "siblings". This is why these Android one models are so different even though they are part of the same family

Man, Xiaomi could have pulled off one of their best phones with the a2. Slap SD card support on that, headphone jack and better battery and you got a super good phone. It's like they put all the specs on random and used the random components on each of these two models.

Having a jack makes the phone instantly thicker. I guess that's why they left it out, just to follow the main stream developments. Missing the SD card is a shame.

A2 lite does record 4k but not with stock software. You need to install OpenCamera to utilize it.

Thank you, nice review. Can you please tell me if A2 Lite has a Gorilla Glass protection ? Also, as far as I can see, on front side, A2 has an ambient light sensor, a proximity sensor and a camera. A1 had a problem - the proximity sensor was far from speaker and - depending where you keep the phone during call - it can fail to engage lock screen. Questions: where is the proximity sensor on A2 ? Near speaker or far right ?

my sister has the 8 plus and mi a2 performs better really on portraits mi a2 kills 8 plus , mi a2 lite well my dad has it and its decent cam for sure but i ll sugest to get a mi a2 battery is great sreen too everything just works and the performance is just damn so good u gonna get shocked by mi a2 is really that good , ur not gonna expect really to be this good, hope this helps , stay safe u and ur wife 🙌

Anyone know how well the mi a2 lite works on metropcs? There's some reports the phone doesn't receive incoming calls and people are unable to activate on that network.

@@Ricky-ms4fu I hear ya. It's very well built and I'm liking it so far. But the bands of 2,4,5 may not be good enough without band 12 for you. 2&4 are pretty strong in Austin, where I am from. If you had a unlocked Verizon phone to test, they usually have 2&4 without 12, that could help you decide if that's enough band support before ordering an A2.

T-Mobile and Metro PCS is the same company like many other businesses, they all the same. . you will have no issues. Just pop the card in, restart and you will be up running. Additionally, just to make sure, you can call the company to send out a signal to the phone, and that also help to make sure that it is connected.

Thanks for the review! I wish you could have reviewed the selfie camera because I believe it would have determine which phone is best for taking photos!

Also I can just open the developer opinions on a phone that has Android 7.0 and up and turn on force apps to eternal memory. That's how I can put a SD card up what a phone will hold and have all the rom I need. I can download any app from the playstore and move it to my SD card no matter how big the app is and I can update the app on my SD card.

I got the miA2 liteand I used to have the miA1, I can tell you that the A1 it has much better camera than the lite.. I think the other specs are the same! If you want something with great autonomy go for the miA2 lite and if you want better camera and processor go for the miA2

I like small phones but the Mi A2 has the white on the front and the screen doesnt take up all the front, which I prefer. 😕eeek

I know I'm a little late to the party, but I just ordered the MI a2 lite because it has a better battery then the MI a2 does. Plus a SD slot and a headphone jack comes in handy any day of the week.

I literally stuck between the Mi A2 and the Mi 8 lite...they both seem very similar, just don't know....lol

Everton Correia yeah but the size its huge. So huge that becomes a problem... All the other ftrs r better. Colours, cams, type c etc... But its a joke to carry a tablet instead of phone or phablet. None of them deserves a $. No amoled screen, no nfc medium range cameras -no way to use it as ur basic phone. Just as our friend from the review said.

@@exoticmoods1650 That may be your preference, but it's very similar to other (very popular) XL or Plus phones. Looking at the gsm arena or other size comparing sites, it's VERY similar to the Pixel 2 XL in size.

Nah, I'll stick with the Lite version. I know it has a older processor, but that and the camera (and micro-usb) are the only downsides. The Lite's screen is brighter and the phone is compact which is good for small hands. Also the non-lite has 4-5 hour screen on time which is awful while the Lite has around 8 hour screen on time. The non-lite doesn't have micro SD card support and no headphone jack.

I prefer a2 lite. Because the a2 lite has headphone jack and the sd card slot with the sim slot and a2 doesn't so umm and a2 lite is more thinner and has a good look and fits in any hands easily😎😎😎.. I HAVE THIS😂😂

Listen people, Mi A2 Lite: Casual user. MI A2: Power User. Get the Mi A2 Lite for media and light gaming (or high-end games on the lowest possible graphics). Also good for calling/texting. Get the Mi A2 if you love gaming and need high performance for your needs. Like the Lite, good for media and texting/calling. Sadly the Mi A2 has some disadvantages compared to the Lite but there are also many advantages to the Lite too.

He really didn't go into the big difference in cameras on the MiA2 vs the Lite. They are MUCH better on the MiA2. Esp the FF camera. So about $40 difference. for better cpu and Cameras. Ok at the very end he did mention this I just noticed.
