I have Xiaomi Pro 1st gen with 13s battery and I have these weird noises at about 34-36 kmh, if I exceed it, the weird noise will disappear. Also is good to have engine braking at minimum current (I have 8A at max).I replaced the mosfets for maybe 10 times just because of strong braking or braking with full battery. Also is good to have another fuse (for example I use car fuses), so if you burn two mosfets, it will go to short circuit and trust me - you really dont want to replace fuse in original battery. About real currents (measured right from battery): 27A at max - mosfets burned after 80 km and 350W Pro engine gets really hot after 3 km ride. 22A - my current sport mode (13S 54V full charge), did not burn mosfets yet, really powerfull, 42kmh and engine gets hot after about 10km, so it is usable 18A - my current D mode, 37kmh, engine never got really hot Maybe it will help someone

@@VRMinde Hi, i have been wanting to do the mod you did in this video but because i want to make sure my pro2 last a really really long time since i live around hilly terrain. But before i do this, i have a few questions and maybe suggestions. Firstly, i think that the pro2 motherboard might have better components on it. So maybe it is a better 500W motor match? Secondly. Is it true that the scooter will act mostly as with a 350W motor if i was to install a 500W motor but i leave all other firmware settings as default for my xiaomi pro2? The weight would be slightly different i think, but in general is what i am asking. My goal is to make sure my motor will never break, since i use it quite a lot where i live. I ran mine for about 243km the last 30 days until a mosfet broke upon breaking downhill with full battery. There need to be an even better way for these scooter controllers to last. I CAN resolder mosfets, but the question is.... Do i/we really wanna?! I already added extra pressure and extra thermal paste to allow for better mosfet cooling. It seem to have worked well so far. But this is still not a solution that will last 🤔

@@CYellowan hi, as you see yourself, first weakest part is the ecu. So you need to choose and fit the right controller. Afterwards you need to see how hot your motor gets. If you need a fast reliable scooter - there are factory-made solutions that will end up cheaper then changing almost all parts on m365 pro 2 :) If you are ok with speed of about 40km/h - your 350w motor should last (unless you climb hills on full power all the time). Now this 500w is not even original monorim, it is a knock off and I don’t know how long it will last. I am testing it now with expensive aftermarket controller that can go up to 4kw… will see how that goes :) One sure way to prolong life of m365 controller is disconnect any ebraking and mount double disc brakes instead.

@@VRMinde got a pro2, want to ride it uphill, rita and external battery is the best way? also about vibrations, i think its the resonance the motor gets, it depends of a lot of factors, tyres, weight, others, fill the bar with foam or other filler, that can solve partially the problem and the plastic trim over the fork need to be checked, cleaned, some plastics trimmed, helped me on pro2, the tyre does the most noise, but it's not the only factor.

@@lion555ify two motors is a good way for going uphill, but yes, you need at least 12s pack for sure. Rita is plug and play+you can see all battery data in app/on dashboard. You can take out the stock pack and just use a 12s, but you will have to disable bms data and you will not see charge level etc on dash/apps

Finally!! A real scooter mod channel that doesn't try to discourage you from upgrading your scooter.

Hello, I was wondering if I buy the Rita adapter from Denis yurev and I add a 12s 44,4v and the stock battery. Is there any issue with adding a 350w or 500w to it ? Do I have to do something specific to the software

You will have to set the max voltage in the firmware and also desired power for your motor (despite if it is stock or 350 or 500w)

Did you run the battery pack in parrell so keeping the 36v or did you seties doubling the voltage I also got a replacement controller and the speedo was waaaayyyy out. Reinforce the shunts and replace the large capacitor

I ran it with 12s pack. In another video I tried it with aftermarket controller and the 14s pack - mich better!

I’m looking to add two 36v 500w motors to my hover-1 alpha that I’m customizing. It’s my first build and I’m a bit nervous. Can I run two motors at 36v on the stock battery and just upgrade it with a pack? Or should I upgrade everything and get 48-60v and run dual 48v-60v 500-1000w ? So many choices. Obviously I’ll have to upgrade the controllers and modify a bit but it’s mostly bolt on and go. Any thoughts?

Normally, upgrading with dual motors and changing voltage up dramatically will require to change basically everything and is more expensive than buying a ready-made scooter :) But it is always possible... depends how much time you want to spend on this :D It looks "easy" but tiny little details eat up the most time. Adding second motor (and ecu) at 36v is potentially easier way, you will feel a boost of power of course, but as you say you will need to add capacity of the pack as well. No one can tell you what to do mate, it is your decision :)

500W and 12 battery combination looks really a huge boost. I wonder is it legal this kind of modification and what would be life span of xiomi itself. Anyways don't teach the younger ones and great content as always! Cheers! :)

It is legal if you limit the speed to 20 or 25 depending on the country. I don’t think it is a big issue in your homeland. When I will get a controller replacement I will try to limit the current and hope that it will last longer than 1min this time 😂 getting a scooter built for higher speed is probably a cheaper, safer and more reliable way to go. Hello Mate, great video as always, sorry to hear about your controller, if your able to get hold of the V3 stock controller that will do you just good, no need to change mosfets on that,since I last commented on your previous video clip on your Dual motor video clip, I have now gone 13s3p 14.4ah internal alongside my 13s4p 20ah external battery ,Rita adapter for BMS emulation great with the 500w monorim motor, I have no issues and have pushed some good speeds so far and have done alot miles on the same controller, 900+ miles so far, I havent changed my firmware for along while as i'm currently comfortable with the firmware I created

Great to hear that v3 is lasting mate! I can’t find them to buy and they are also quite expensive! Tried 2 aftermarket controllers, something got damaged again :) don’t want to even open them and check one more time. Working now on 14s5p and 500w (knockoff) Monorim motor. 2.2kw today, 52km/h :) motor getting a bit on the warm side if I push it hard. Probably will stick to a single motor setup for now. Gonna make myself another battery, maybe 16s, will see. Thanks for watching and commenting bro!

The extension cords are the same color, or at least two of them 🙄 it goes yellow/green/blue (the extensions). Try gently. If you get it wrong it will either spin the wrong way/won’t spin/make weird noise :)

Ive got my monorim motor it rides a bit swoother i dont think you need the pro dash i done it with hack its going about 31km now but the wheel hits back of mud guard.its ok when i pull it up a bit.ive ordered a 48v batery 100ah will that work on stock controler.???

Been there got a stack of burnt out controllers. Frustrating and fun at the same time. 👍

I used only external. If you want to connect both 12s and 10s at the same time you need Rita device. Mine is laying around with a burnt fuse 😂

Was this test with stock controller? Iv got the 48v pack and a v3 controller and I’m looking to get the 500w hub but if it won’t reach 30mph I will just invest into something else

stock controller and 12s battery pack (it would be a "44V pack"). I reach 50km/h (31mph) at about 1500W. So if your 13s pack is fully charged you will have ~54V. You will need about 30 amps at that voltage to get 1500W.

Hey mate.. great and very helpful comparison. I have new 365PRO and my battery overheats while I m driving back to home from work. I drive almost 10km uphill. It s small but constatnt incline and I have 100kg :) . Battery temp reach 53,54 degrees and Scooter turns off. Do u think that I will resolve this problem if I add larger battery something like Monorim B2 battery 48v 14.4ah? What do you think?

If your battery is overheating it means you are drawing more current than the battery can give/was built to give. This is actually surprising to me as normally ECU is the first part to overheat on the M365. I will assume you flashed custom firmware with many watts on it :) If you add a 48V battery, you will get the same watts with drawing less current, it should definitely help with the battery overheat issue. But you have to lower those amps then :D And most likely ECU will start overheating as the next thing .

I assume you are not on stock firmware? What battery pack are you using? You could send more amps/power to the motor. And you might want to be careful with regen braking - set it from none to low to avoid controller damage

I have m365 with 2nd gen 500w pro motor from aliexpress. With just the stock 10s battery it reaches 40kmh on a full charge. 35kmh is possible down to 30% battery charge

You can put the 350w motor just straight replacement, but you won’t feel any difference. What you need is different battery to get more speed/acceleraton and then different firmware flashed

Pro 2 has a good motor, I do not think you will notice much of a difference. It will work, but I doubt you will get much extra performance 🙄

i got my xiaomi pro 2 custom with a 52v 25amps controller and an 52v battery with a stock 36v 300w motor and top speed of 45kmh.but my motor takes up to heat fast and it burns out..Will a monorim 500w motor will better for me or it will heat even worst than the stock one?

It should be able to take more punishment. But 52V X 25amps = 1300W. You should not expect a 300W or even a 500W motor to be able to run all those wats for long without getting warm :)

@branimir bankov Was claiming 2 weeks ago, that m365 pro does 42km/h +. I personally do not believe it :D I think 32km/h is a decent speed for a 10s (36v) battery pack. You can try adding more amps on the firmware and hope it will go a bit faster. The next thing to get more speed is a higher voltage battery pack. I think you can use a 13s (48v) pack with the stock controller if you are careful and do not overheat it too much. Eventually, you will burn the controller. Then you go for the more powerful controller, and then - motor, after it - two motors :D

If you want to feel more anything - replace the battery first. The torq difference will be negligible unless you climb hills all day long :) I would still go with a battery upgrade though

What error code is it beeping? The problem is that your battery pack is not "communicating" with the controller. There is a github that describes the programming and the hardware behind, so you can make a custom BMS to work with the stock controller. But if you have 0 coding or electronics experience - it will be hard to understand. Next two options: 1 purchasing Rita - that will do the trick, or 2. just replace the controller to an aftermarket one.

Range is the same voltage, more capacity (mah). Speed is more voltage, despite the capacity. Depends what is “bigger” - if it is only capacity - stock controller will work. If it is more voltage than 12s pack - you will have to at least modify the controller. 12s (max 50.4v fully charged) you can still use the stock controller

@@cesarpingaronjr2914 from 30 to 45 is not “a bit” it is a lot to add :) you will definitely need a higher voltage battery, at least 14s/48v, meaning a new controller as well. Be sure to have good brakes and do not forget F=m*v^2 :) (force equals mass multiplied by speed squared, or in other words - speed adds a lot to when there is an impact)

@@cesarpingaronjr2914 I can’t advice you a specific controller. To reach speeds of 50km/h you will need at least 1000w 🙄 so think of 14s (48v) battery pack and 20-25a controller. Motor might survive for a while, but at the end you will replace it as well. Overall it is cheaper to buy a faster scooter than to upgrade the one you have, just saying :)

Hi mate, I doubt you will see a diference between the pro 2 stock motor and the 500w aftermarket one. The more wats - the more heat. At some point your motor will burn if you give it too much power for too long. I ran 2200w on a 500w motor, but for short bursts only

yes, you can, I am not sure how much effect you will get though. I tried stock VS fake Monorim 500w one and there was not a lot riding difference at all

Hi, you are probably experiencing the difference but not feeling it :) the difference is the motor is heating up less than the stock one. You won’t feel the power difference just from swapping the motor mate. Set your CFW for more amps if you expect more speed, but overall you need a bigger battery pack to load this motor enough 🙄

Hi mate: - If you use it with stock everything nothing bad will happen to your controller or battery or anything - if you not changing firmware it will stay at the same speed. Higher voltage battery won’t work without changing firmware - if you use larger capacity but same voltage battery ot will have more range

No “immediate” damage, but you have to change the voltage settings in the firmware of course. Watch out for how many amps you gona push and for how long. If you gonna go max throttle for 5mins non-stop, you can overheat and burn the controller

I have this motor coming on delivery. It's a 10x125inch wheel. Is this adequate for the m365 as I only realised the size afterwards? I dobt suppose anyone would know?

i do not know anything about Ducati scooter mate, but in theory everything is possible :)

Probably you overload the controller by hitting the break lever and eventually if you do that kers will kick in.

Hi, you can easily add more batteries of the same voltage connecting them in parallel. It is a bit more tricky if you have a different voltage pack.

If you only use 12s pack but do not need to use your stock pack - you don’t need any Rita. BTW Rita is rated for 30amps input, a bit more and fuse will burn

You cannot connect two different voltage batteries together neither in series nor parallel. Unless you use the "Rita" device (e-scooters.embedden.com/)

Hmmm, you can try pushing the power (amps) up, but the controller will eventually burn. Speed comes easiest from higher voltage 🙄 I got this going at 50kmh with a 14s (52V) battery pack

Hi mate, It does not matter if it was “pro” or any other version because to reach 70+ you will need a completely different battery pack (probably 72V) as well as a controller. And second: I would not drive 70km/h on a scooter like this with 10” tires and shitty brakes. I have my ebike for speeds like this :)

Answer is always “it depends”. The motor can take more than 500w for a short period of time, probably you can run it for couple minutes at 2kw 🙄 2000w/36V = 55.6Amps. If you try that - the stock battery will not provide it and very likely die :) When it is stock, bottle necks go in this sequence: controller, battery, motor. You have an improved controller so probably your bottle-neck will be the stock battery pack now. I am not sure it likes more than 15-20 amps.. I do not even remember if 20 is already too much 🙄

I normally use BT on BMS to set it up once. If it comes pre-setup or you can connect in any other way it is not really that needed... You won't be able to run the original and 52v batteries together unless you use something like Rita adapter e-scooters.embedden.com/shop/accessories/rita-adapter-for-xiaomi/@@ianwhittingham709

speed is so low :( But acceleration not bad. 350w motor can 42 km/h at 42v(36) Speed 40-50 comfortable and this is the maximum possible speed without losing control. Better wheels is pneumatic cst 2.25 and 3.0

This motor is rated for 48V, so fully charged 54.6. I think I can run this motor even on 58V, then it will go fast. Honestly, I don’t need more than 35km/h on my scooter :) But we will see how it goes on 14s battery and with a 4kw controller. Got my controller yesterday, will begin building soon!

@@rocketrhys2676 I have tested it now for 5mins. 35amps gave me 42km/h on gps. Will continue testing, the only problem is the rain. It’s forecasted until Monday. Hopefully I can film and edit by the end of next week

Most likely yes :) I think there is an app Xiaoflasher that should do it (paid version), but I am not 100% sure. Another option is to solder some pins on the controller and use the STlink programmer to flash the controller. Check the app first, after search on youtube how to flash m365 with Stlink

It should just work man, I am not sure how much torq will you notice. I would first go with bigger voltage battery (but then you will need to change firmware/controller)

@@Motorizedstuff you won’t get more acceleration mate with 500w motor or it will be a very small difference. Amps are controlled by controller, voltage depends on battery. Power=volts x amps. Your controller most likely is limiting max amps. So you could get higher voltage battery, but if you don’t know what you are doing - you can burn the controller easy :)

What do you mean 12s ? Is it speed battery?

it refers to the battery construction. Batteries are not "36V" or "48V", because the battery voltage changes as you charge - discharge it. 36V is a 10s battery pack, meaning it has 10 cells connected in Series. 1cell voltage is 3.1-4.2V and "on 50% charge" is 3.6V.

The controller died! The same happened to me with the monorim 500w during braking. So you have to do some adjustments in firmware to avoid this. I placed again the stock 250 w motor and a mi 365 pro controller and things are far better now

On M365 I have tried RWD, FWD and 2WD. They all handle a bit different, but I would not be bothered too much about that.

@@ninjaarcades7356 it does handle a bit better as it is easier to lift the front wheel for jumps and curb drops. If you have a lot of power on your scooter start is also better with rwd m. Also if you install the disc brake in front - the braking is so much more efficient. I did not notice any difference on carves/turns or just riding on a straight line though

I wish I would have seen this video befor my upgrade :)) ..Or I have seen it but I did not read the comments also... I Think I just burned my controller :) ..and I was so happy with the 35km /h. :) I upgraded the controller to monorim 48v and also battery to 48v (13s3p). I kept the original 250W (36V) motor. Accelerations was nice , speed enough for me, but it happen exactly like in your case ....at a moment display went off and will not power on again. I disconnected the battery , display turned on , but after few meters (I can feel it put power definitely ) display turn of and scooter stops abruptly. I wish I would not activate regen brake :) ... also I use minirobot app for settings and remove speed limit ...Guys, do you think there is a chance to repair my controller ? is it burned if it can deliver power / curent for few meters ? :) Should I buy another controller monorim , or better a bike controller that definitely can handle 500W as is rated ? this monorim is super tiny !!! I dubt can handle 20A as is written on it (48Vx 20A = ~ 1000W ..confusing ) . My bike controller that can handle 25A is 4 time bigger ... maybe is a better idea to buy a real controller (bike one) but then I have to install it outside .... and then maybe I have to upgrade also the motor to 500W :))) ... so only the frame remains ... as one guy said here...better buy from beginning a powerful scooter:)))) . actually I was pretty happy that with only 200 eur I upgraded my scooter to be zippier and faster.... only if I would know to deactivate regen brake :)) ...

Happens with upgrades :) lessons learnt :) You most likely can repair the controller, depending what burned. But to be honest I failed so many times trying to repair/identify what was defected…

My m365 pro is a year old, removed speed limiter an hour ago and I'm getting 30-32km/h on gps on stock battery and engine. Peak power is 700-800w and 300-450w constant. Not really more then with stock firmware. With stock firmware it would do between 250-400w constant depending on road conditions. Can definitely tell the controller gets warmer and motor to. I don't really use the thing alot and searching for cheap options to let it do 40-45km/h.

The stock motor can do 40-45 on pro. Controller can also survive, especially if you disable regen braking. The bottle neck is battery pack. Of course your controller will heat up even more, motor might burn one day as well…

@@VRMinde tried custom self modded firmware and got red blinking. Now reflashed preset firmware. Working again, but charges to 41.0v instead of 41.4v. Can you make a firmware with disabled speed limiter and 41.8v ? Regen is very strong on hard. I'd prefer medium, under load voltage drops down to about 37-38v in the beginning and with regen it goes to about 41v. I've seen a external battery pack ( 25ah 36v ) on a website from Poland. But then you're on the charger for 24 hours which is not ideal with stock charger.

@@VRMinde I have loaded a modified firmware on it this afternoon again. Pulls harder, but preffer stock settings with unlocked speed of 32. Less power usage ( now about 700-800 peak, 400 constant max ). During a load @ Full charge, the battery voltage dips down to 36-37v which is not ideal.

@@daand12 that is a big voltage sack. I just wanted to reply yesterday that ESC should not control how much your pack charges. It should be done by bms in my thinking at least 🙄 so should not depend on the firmware

@@VRMinde I think it's actually the BMS that does control max charge voltage, because i have a 4A 42V charger from AliExpress and seems not even charge to 4.2V per cell. More like 4.13~4.15V maximum. That cheap €16 charger actually charging the battery pack really fast. Should be done charging in 3 to 3.5 hours. Charging at 4.1A actual current. Stock charger is over 8 hours. I will drive from 100% to 0% this weekend with the firmware mod and then charge back up. Done 6.9KM today and had 70% left right after a stop. That voltage sack ( 37.5V when full @ 20A ). Mine contain EVE ICR cells and not LG or Samsung SDI. imgur.com/kwi5aiz Personally i think you can charge the normal M365 in 1.5 hours with this 4A charger

Hi, That’s weird 🙄 54.5Vx65A=3.5kw 😳 at 2kw I reach 50km/h on my m365. But I used the aftermarket 500w motor and ECU with field weakening. I am confident the 350w motor should run faster. There is something limiting your rpms or voltage. Firmware? There is definitely the “hard limit of 35km/h” in firmware. Is it even possible to really remove it? Any chance you can try another ECU? Not the stock one?

@@xtracker904 you said you had max amps at 65A? Power is measured by watts. P=UxI where P is power (W), U voltage (V), I current (A). Even if you keep 25A on a fully charged 13s it is more than 1300W. That is enough to go faster than 35km/h. One or another way your controller is limiting the speed, I think. I can’t now think of anything else mate

I tried all possible firmware mate, until my controller has burned (this was the 4th one). And all of my firmwares are power based. Maybe I am “special”, but with my 85kg body weight (probably 90 with clothes) I can never reach more than 31 with the stock battery and 36 with the 12s, measured on gps and on the 10” tires :)

I'm not sure what is the point to have 5 km/h extra for all these risks of burn or extra modifications... With a pro 2 and tweak the firmware, you can reach 35 km/h... No need 500w motor, battery change, no risk for the controller. Am I wrong?

It is always worth getting a scooter designed for it :) but fun to experiment. The max speed depends on the riders size a lot as well. 50-60kg riders ride 32-33km/h on stock m365 as well. I am not sure Inwould get to 35 on the pro either.

no your right I get 34kph on my pro 2 with firmware mod. The Pro 2 has an updated controller so its ok but other models an uprated controller is really required.

@@1974RLuke pro 2 also has more powerful motor than 250w. Today I fixed the controller and sent 25amps on it, max speed was 35km/h with the 12s pack. Same can be achieved with 250w motor. I think this 500W motor will only start to shine with something like 14s and some decent controller 🙄 will try that as well

@@themajasticcreature I think the controller can handle quite a lot and you can monitor it’s state by observing the temperature. I burned all controllers while braking 🙄 disconnect recovery braking and use physical brakes, and then make some extra cooling for the controller and observe temperatures in the app when you ride. This could be the way to figure it out.

Seip keista kad tuos mosfetus rekomenduoja keisti gi jie ir taip 100v (cia ant pro v2.1) Na nors jo tie ibrf ant w galingesni , dbr esu idejas boost paka, gaunasi 12s vaziuojant 43 isuka 💁 istikruju rimtai svarstau daugiau itampa didint, tik zinoma mosfetus atkirsti nuo valdimo .. na ir galbut keist mosfetus su kondiku .

If you bought more battery u will reach more speed that buy a 500w motor!

Oh, I am aware of this mate, I was just curious to see what it takes to bring this motor back to life and share with others how it works on a stock pack. I have a 14s pack and I do have a spot welder + some spare 16s bms as well, so I will give it a go, I just need more time for all that work :)

@@marine1718 I have not tried such a beast pack anywhere yet :) won’t try it yet I assume. Good news is that the motor is spinning alrready. Just need yo tidy up everything and will do first test ride
