Xiaomi 4K laser projector on ALR PET Crystal screen
Ғылым және технология
Hi guys! As promised here is the video review of UST ALR PET Crystal screen that I purchased from a company named XY-screens. This Ambient light rejecting projection screen is actually design for ultra short throw laser projectors like the Xiaomi Milja 4k laser projector. With this new projection screen the picture quality during a daylight or with ambient lights is way better now. Enjoy :)
Update:
The same type of these projection screens for ultra short throw laser projectors is now available from popular online retailers. Now you are more protected as a buyer.

I just found out there's a xiaomi projector and your review is the best I've seen so far, never stop making reviews, it's like listening to an audio book or something. I like the way each review has a story.❤
I liked the dramatization of the research for a supplier from China, good acting. Thanks for the review.

Just commenting so hopefully the OP sees. As far as the damage to your screen couldn't you cut a square out of the sample material you purchased and use some sort of temporary adhesive to place over the imperfection?

It's not acting. Paying $800 to somebody half way around the world for a promise to ship you something is never stress free.
Great setup. Things have come a long way since my first big screen / surround sound setup in the 1980's. For the people that think it's too expensive, they haven't been involved in home theater very long. My first HDTV in 2001 was a 65" Mitsubishi that weighed 375 pounds and cost $4600... These projectors are great!
This is one of the best reviews I've ever watched. Thanks for taking the time you did to put all this together. I'm leaning towards just getting this exact projector and screen because of your review. Thanks again
Thank you for showing the 55 inch TV compared to screen. That was very helpful, as was the entire video. It looks amazing!

The Big Four (KPMG, Ernst & Young (EY), Deloitte and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC)) are the four biggest professional services networks in the world, offering audit, assurance services, taxation, management consulting, advisory, actuarial, corporate finance and legal services. They handle the vast majority of audits for public companies as well as many private companies. Until the late 20th century, the market was dominated by eight networks (Big 8) but this gradually reduced due to mergers and the 2002 collapse of one firm, leaving four networks dominating the market in the early 21st century.

If you hadnt pointed out that imperfection, i would never have noticed it. Think you made the right choice.
Two words come in my mind: perfect presentation. Interesting, well detailed and down to earth. You're a really nice guy. Thank you for this fantastic explanations.

OK, this is a gamechanger. I've always been put off projectors due to the poor contrast in lit conditions, unless using EXTREMELY expensive screens. Finally, the combination of 4K, short-throw, and excellent contrast has arrived. I think I know what my next upgrade is going to be...

Honestly really surprised a projector can look this good thanks to a decent screen. Even on camera it looks really impressive. I'd seriously consider this. I like the cleaner look of not having a wall mounted TV with wires or a TV sitting on the entertainment unit. Or the expense of having to run wires in the wall with a regular wall mounted TV.
great video on showing how to actually use the projector in proper way... when xiaomi introduce this 4k projector, i also think the biggest downside was the brightness compare to traditional tv, this nice fabric with the frame really make it much cooler and beautiful. nice!
Looks fantastic! The small imperfection however I would send the fabric back and get it perfect. Its a hassle but will be satisfying to fix it

Thanks for suggestion my friend I agree :) Anyway I brought my Mackie SRM 450 many years ago and I love them, they are amazing speakers with crystal clear and well balanced true sound. Not to mention they are insane loud. Also I have Logitech Z5500 almost brand new in the box(very hard to found these days) and nice stands for them ,but I still like the sound of my Mackie :) Maybe I will install my Z5500 these days beside my Mackie's just for fun :) For show off :D
Once you see the blemish, you can never un-see it. Since the screen is going to last longer than multiple projectors, I'd go ahead and pay shipping for the replacement.

I bought this screen from same supplier a year ago and paired it with an Epson 485w UST projector. The colour brightness is much higher on the epson and I would say my image looks slightly better. Total cost for me was $1000 USD. I would not spend more than this as 86" LED TVs from LG can be found for $2500 USD. Great review though, keep it up.

the Epson 485w UST projector is lamp projector, means, blacks are not as good, and more importantly, the life span of the lamp is only 3000 hours compared to 25000 hours for the laser one in this video.

cool! Actually to me it is better in daylight, as all tvs on the market are reflective. Thought maybe you would be able to find non reflective one as you found that screen. You can even see it on 7:44 and on - tv screen is more black in some places, but when it reflects table it is light gray and brutal contrast to the black, while projection screen just gradually gets darker gray - this for me is much more pleasant for viewing. Or even later when tv reflect white wall - it is same gray as the screen.
