我是過去的香港人而成功在十多年前獲得新加坡公民資格。每一個被孝慮移民的國家都有其優點和缺點。在這里，我不願評論那個國家好或不好。不同年纪的人有不同需求。我初初來到新加坡是覺得新加坡天氣很热，但慢慢接受了。香港人為什麽移民？相信同多次香港的移民潮跟政治和社會稳定有密切的關係。我也有親友移民加拿大和澳洲，最後也離開當地。若果要找一個國家跟香港生活習惯不一樣的地方，這為甚麽要移民呢？很多香港人不太了解新加坡民生，政治和她的好處，人云亦云地說她的壞處。其實新加坡政府對人民很貼心的。你安份守己又何必恐懼受法律的制裁。很多東西隨時間改變的。新加坡政府是聽民意的。新加坡也有反對黨在國會當議員。香港人應該改變自己的看法。不是你是否喜歡選擇移民新加坡，而是新加坡選擇你是否她需要的人。

maybe the relevant question is whether the Sg Government wants you as it has a very selective policy. A PR status in Sg under the Professional Pass scheme is subject to the renewal of the Reentry Permit every 5 years, unlike a Green Card..etc.

當有得選擇下，仲有一樣因素唔會諗新加坡：22-35歲了解鄰近國家/地區的，多數係台灣、南韓及日本，它們的物質/口腔期生活會較豐富，除非有了解6-80年代東南亞與香港之間的歷史，否則好少人會選擇。

Many HK took MM2H in Malaysia. They have option to take Sarawak MM2H or Sabah MM2H as different requirements. Most people only know West Malaysia MM2H which is less benefits. Sg is a small country and quite strict is their SPR and citizenship application.

Your friends should consider the Greater Bay area. Better housing, job and business opportunities with 14b people as your backup. Near HK. 4 seasons and can chew gums. SG suitable for Irene as I think she can integrate and adapt to SG society.

Actually they are looking for people with long term commitment or local linkage. So my friends have tried volunteering for national type events and projects, study MBA or courses in Singapore. Of course those that married, have children or bought houses definitely showed some long term intention.

I agree with you that Singapore is too full to absorb any more foreigners. I hope hongkongers would consider Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, China and Canada as they are quite big enough to absorb hongkongers.

Singapore is a small island and yeah, lifestyle would be the same hectic and small. An option can be in KL. But both cities/places would be hard to get PR unless marry local. Its the only way

when hongkonger want to move in to Japan while Japanese want to move out of the Country vice versa, there's so many foreigner living and working in Japan. Just take example my 2 tour guide in Japan , one is a Taiwanese and the other one is a Europeans, not to mention , 24hrs convenience store , is all Indian , and hospital is occupy with pinoy , store assistant is from China, is so different from what I know of Japan, the job is all fill up with Foreigners, isn't the same situation as Singapore, when both country is facing aging population, is inevitable.

Depending on how you look at it, Singapore, as a country, is in a position to pick & choose who it wishes to accept as a PR/citizen. So, it is as much a choice by potential immigrants as it is a choice by Singapore. That said, do come to our sunny island & experience life here for some months. There is much to love

Exactly! I don’t want Hong konger people to emigrate here. To think hongkonger people didn’t welcome Shenzhen ppl from China to emigrate to HK. They better go to Taiwan, China and Malaysia.

There are points to agree and disagree! There are many Pros and Cons in Sg, no country or place is 100% perfect. It depends on what the immigrants preferred or wanted!

Tnx for sharing. Appreciate sg government policies with regards to foreign immigrants. These stringent measures ensure that new immigrants are fully committed to this little red dot when they are looking for greener pastures elsewhere.

Canada, usa are still the countries of chioce for people from the greater China. I read a report said that some hk older people who migrated to canada returned to hk because of cold weather in canada. Not sure how true. So weather can be a legit reason. My observation is also hk people tends to move to a place where there is a big pop of hk immigrants where cantonese is spoken. Most hk people still speak the language even though medium of instruction in higher learning institution is english. So, language and culture can be another impt factor. SG is not perfect, it is also too small to accept all applicants. MY can be another option but I understand also not easy to get citizenship too. Good luck Irene

原因很简单，🇸🇬在社会体制上非常接近中国，中国有的管控措施如：社会信用等级、网络监控、媒体国家化、禁止游行示威等新加坡一样不缺，甚至执行得更加严格。🇭🇰人想出走一大原因无非就是为了重获言论自由等文明世界普世价值，这样到新加坡的话等于是到了“迷你中国”，或者说小朝鲜，大费周章却是竹篮打水白忙一场，又何必呢？

@@sklim22 Asean华裔大部分说谎成性这谁都知道，包括你。在🇸🇬体制内混过的人在此，你敢说我对新加坡🇸🇬不了解❓ 我可能比你全家女性和小孩都了解得通透😅。举一很简单的例子，哪怕没混过体制的普通民众都懂的事情：请问你在🇸🇬允许游行示威吗？哪怕只有 一个、两个人都极可能会被抓，比🇨🇳还夸张，中国大陆及号称共产主义、号称独裁，但人家可是允许几十几百乃至上千个民众的游街甚至对抗警察及保安的。

对一小戳极右派思想的香港人感觉很无奈。香港从英国殖民地以来都没有自由。英国多次将要求香港独立的香港人进行血腥镇压。香港人还不是乖乖就范？

I'm not an expert in sg immigration but marriage being a strong factor for immigration success rate makes sense for the ageing population here. Also having a family and more so having children would give Singapore government what they are looking for - - versus the Singaporean young gen y and z who are having less and less desire to plan for family. Also, with a whole family here indicates their plan to settle down here.

Btw, having children here in Singapore have a lot of advantages. You dont have to worry about expenses, unless you want to spend more than necessary.
