I think Steve deserves a lot of credit for "White Van Karl"... It's the first time they sit and directly ask Karl things to get an insight into his mind. It's from here on they realise that the show can be moulded entirely around Karl's mind.

I think the line "After half time" captures Karl's comedy genius more than any other single line in the radio shows/podcasts. (Controversial I know, with so many great moments to choose from.)
Listen to these when I cook... when I potter about... when I take a bath in the morning... when I go to bed . And almost every day one of my colleagues tells me something that I can relate to one of these episodes... so I tell them " between us :)
At 32 minutes when they're talking about burying stuff in the garden Steve almost calls Ricky dad but stops himself. I've been listening to these for 14 years and I've just clicked that.

Although series 2 is the best, series one is my favourite. I love these early days where they’re encouraging Karl in and not forcing all of the comedy around him
I watched these all the way through high school, college and most of uni initially for the laughs but on there 3rd/4th/5th run through it became a massive sleep aid. Decided to take a break, as I had gone through them all countless times, through my final year and throughout COVID and my sleep just wasn’t as good nothing else hit the same. Came back and now I fall asleep near instantly again. The lads might just be the cure to insomnia 🤣🤣🤣

Some versions have the perfect 'fade to black' screen a few seconds in, but the next level? Do dial down Ricky's laughs - that's what wakes you up when you've just nodded off! Funnily enough, woke up this morning, looked at your picture just to get me started.
The ending of this episode is gold. Steve quietly narrating Ricky's private phone call to a listener
When I started listening to these I was younger than Steve, now I’m older than Ricky 😆
When Ricky said Brad Pitt and George Clooney are quote ‘GREAT looking guys’, Smerch and Karly Pilkboys missed a PERFECT opportunity to do the really annoying OoooOooooOoooh thing 😂
Everynight forever looping these to sleep years later ... years to come...
At the start when Ricky jokes about 2007, it’s so odd that that year to us is the distant past but to them it was the coming future.
"It could be further from the truth- it could be, like, a table playing him."
Karl is fun because he didnt go to school. All those years where we wasted our time, endless hours of being bored out of our minds, he was livin it up on a beach in Wales..
