I can totally understand your thoughts on Switch Sports, it definitely isn't for everyone and is a big change. I miss Wuhu Island a lot too. Also one of the reasons Mario Strikers is so exciting is because it's devolped by Next Level Games, where Mario Tennis Aces and Mario Golf Super Rush were made by Camelot, and were pretty disappointing and lackluster. Next level makes dang good stuff, like Luigi's Mansion 3, so I'm sure Strikers will be waaaaay better then the other Mario sports games on switch. And I share a lot of your thoughts on Xenoblade, this one looks a lot more promising. A great direct and great video!

One thing's for sure, I'm definitely going to be following your Switch Sports coverage even if it doesn't appeal to me that much. And if Next Level games is making that new Mario Strikers game, then there is hope. They're incredible.

I was about to go to sleep, checked KZread, saw your video and I had to stop caring about sleep. I may have school tomorrow and it was already late since I watched the super bowl, but this has to be my favorite channel to watch so I can’t complain. I’m also so glad Nintendo didn’t ignore Metroid and at least gave us a little something in regards to it. The update isn’t much but I’ll check it out and I’m excited for the boss rush, but it’s the little things that count that show that Nintendo isn’t neglecting the series again. We have had Metroid talked about in some way shape or form at the past 3 directs, Dread won best Action Adventure game, and we have been getting a lot of Metroid hype recently and I am watching with hope of more of this treatment in the future.

As a kid, my summers consisted of 3 things: swimming, biking, and playing Mario Kart/Strikers on a daily basis. I'm psyched that we're finally getting a Strikers 3 and can't wait to try it out

Here is the crazy thing. This is only the first half of the year. If 3 is releasing in September, then what the hell else does Nintendo have planned for October-December. For the MK8 DLC. Remember Nintendo has a 50 million user install base for that game. Why on earth would you not double the amount of tracks? And then tying that to expansion pass? Fucking brilliant. Maybe that's why they named it "+ Expansion Pack" in the first place

"I guess I can always play chess to hold me over" Man, can't wait for him to talk about Advance Wars, the other very fun turn based strategy game, this series pulled me in while Fire Emblem is super hit or miss, I wonder what he'll say- *Skips to Mario Strikers* Pain

I'm really excited for Klonoa and Live A Live. Xenoblade 3 looks like it should be amazing, and the character designs are actually good again! We'll have to wait and see if the protag is as boring as rex tho...

In my opinion, this was an amazing Direct even if not a whole lot appealed to me. Although now I have my motivation to beat both Xenoblade 1 and 2.

That being said, I was not really the biggest fan of Nintendo Switch Sports and Mariokart DLC.

I can convince you that the DLC for mariokart 8 is the better route than a brand new game at this moment of time. I myself did want Mariokart 9 but seeing this DLC I have begun to our way the pros and cons on the dlc versus a new mariokart. A new Mariokart would require to be different in some way making a gimmick that could be controversial or it could just be no different than mariokart 8 in terms of gameplay. The game will have all new tracks, characters, vehicles, sure but not be different enough to standout on the same market. The game would be a full $60, forsake people who have just bought Mariokart 8, and it will be just be more of what 8 was. The DLC on the other hand is less than half the price of a full new game, is basically the same meat and potatoes of a new game doubling the content, and it doesn’t forsake newcomers to mariokart 8. The games don’t have to fight over the same market, we get new tracks, and we don’t have to pay a ton for it. It’s unfortunate that we have to wait possibly till Nintendo’s next console for another mariokart, but it won’t forsake new comers and will be justified if it’s similar to 8 since it’s a new iteration on a new console. Of course a new mariokart would’ve been great, and I desire something unique, but this is a good hold over till we get a new mariokart and it might be the most consumer friendly decision.
