Yeah this is scary and all, but also, imagine the euphoria of sprinting down those straight hallways just for the sake of it. Like running down a super long, carpeted hotel hallway. I wanna do that, minus the terror of being chased by Doodlebob with no way out.

This series is a phenomenal display of visual effects prowess, subtle storytelling, and even musical composition. Kane is a goddamn wizard and I'm so excited to see what he does next, be it more backrooms or something else. He absolutely deserves the attention and the success that he's gotten.

the whole uneasy feeling of the backrooms is based of how most people react to liminal spaces, funny enough "liminal space" is also che name of the place where we fight Alexander in TEA so in a way Alexander is also part of the backrooms. also monkaS

Kane Pixels is so good, he and his team deservers all the recognition and attention, doing some really fine art.

Absolutely love this series, it’s insane to think it’s a 17 year old kid working on it.

This reminds me of that free Playstation game a while back called The Witness. You're on this island alone solving puzzles, and you come across a room with this crazy ass old video with the same vibes as this. Actually a great game.

He's right, the sound on that first one is wild. These are so cool and creepy and I think as much as I want to I just can't watch them which is a bummer cause I really dig it but aaaaahh

I ended up watching this whole thing and I love the concepts being played with here but I'm also quite spooked out~~

Imagine dreaming that shit, knowing that it’s a dream but being unable to wake up. Fuck me I’d literally wake up dead.

Ah yes, The Deep Dungeon experience. On the real, I wonder if we ever get a good movie adaptation of House of Leaves, at least the part that has to do with the labyrinth, its such a cool idea for spooky found footage flick... The rest of the book is too bespoke for the purpose of it being an actual book.

If there were ever an adaptation to House of Leaves, I feel like it would be butchered like World War Z, where they just pick a completely different story to tell for whatever reason.

This backrooms stuff makes me think of the SCP Universe.

Had a lot of fun watching this. 096 SCP short film and SCP dollhouse are other good videos in a similar vein.

That's so weird -- right before you said "this reminds me of Cube," I was thinking the exact same thing. I guess it was because of the ladder up to the crawlspace into another room or something.

That's kane in the intro looking at the camera. Edit: a liminal space is 'a space between spaces' for example a door frame: but on a horrible chance (there's still 1 in a trillion chance! You could be that one) that even walking through your front door; it's now 1000km long walking through said door

I believe the backrooms and facility “sets” are arranged + animated in a 3D animation software like Blender. It’s phenomenal work especially considering how realistic it looks

@@dedtective I mean like that first set of the yellow corridors. Its like a 70s/80s/90s department store or office building. My initial thought us that they found a location to film but i cant believe that they just found a place that was already arranged like that. The layout is so crazy but at the same time it doesnt look like CGI. Did they have it set up like that? If so is it very simple? How long would it take, how much would it cost? Honestly for being amature "found footage" this is what i found to be the most unsettling part.
