Honestly, Xeno has a really good point with the rant at 4 minutes in. The entire point of a good "react" video is for the person to offer their own interesting commentary and perspective on top of the original content. If they're just gonna sit in silence for the whole thing it's basically just "stealing a view" from the original creator, and offering nothing except a slight blocking of the footage. At that point, why wouldn't I just close the stream/vod and watch the source video? It's not the first time I've seen people chide Xeno for pausing and offering something insightful during a react, and not just ironically either. So yeah, Twitch chat being a collection of drooling apes as usual.

@windowlicker6776 That's what streamers and streams ARE. They're inherently parasocial. Xeno isn't your friend, and you're way off base by comparing him to one. He's not there for you. You (and the rest of the watchers) are there for him, the content creator. If you want to watch the content without input of content by the content creator, refer to my original comment: watch the original source. And if you think this is a situation at all comparable to sitting down with a friend you know on a personal basis and watching something together in an intimate and equal standing, you need a reality check.

@@Colonel_Dickbutt I mean that's what it is for a lot of people, the internet fucks with their brains. Don't know if you're implying that I'm parasocial, I just pointed out that it's like that for some and it serves as a weird replacement for real human interaction with others. Also to add to the original comment, all reaction videos are scummy as fuck even if there's commentary present. I'd honestly love if all money made from reactions were transferred to the original creator that oftentimes spend weeks or months on making the content for them to be overshadowed by some lazy streamer watching it and directly profiting off their work. Hell I'd go even further and say that it's more likely to kill them as a creator since the reaction videos can very often be promoted over the ORIGINAL videos, all in all it's absolutely fucked and no amount of "linking" will fix that. If I were a streamer I'd force my viewers to at least open the video in the background or else.... 😶‍🌫️⚡

Robert Shaw actually ad-libbed that entire bit, but man did it create a hell of an atmosphere. It's one of the most iconic moments of the whole film.

that was my exact thought, just that part alone made me question if this was a real story or not why would rescue operations ever go out with plastic equipment?! and if you want to use plastic shovels in snow so that you can dig for people without a risk of injury then why is that the only tool you're bringing?
