This also makes my little elder emo heart sooooo happy! Anthem of our generation is 100% accurate. I went to a pretty diverse high school, it came out right at the start of my senior year, and even the wannabe thugs and most preppy cheerleaders loved this song. I distinctly remember blasting this at potentially dangerous volumes and scream-singing along to it with my best friend on our way back from graduation rehearsal. One of the very few actually great memories from those days. Did XH do the best or most elaborate cover of it? No, probably not. But did they still do it justice and capture the spirit of the song? Absolutely. And about XH live, they just finished their first tour! It started w/ a few days in Seoul and then they toured Europe. No announcement yet of a north american leg but it seems like the European stops were all a huge success so fingers crossed we'll get them over the pond soon! I know they're not always the best quality, but I do actually recommend checking out some of the fancams from their European tour, and there's also an official video just released today for their set at Korea On Stage In London (a show at Wembly a few weeks ago where bunch of Korean groups performed short sets to honor the anniversary of diplomatic relations between korea and the UK) which they started w/ a bit of We Will Rock You. Their crowd work is sooo good, and the fans sang along to pretty much every single song. The venues were relatively small, so felt like legit rock shows but w/ the flair of light sticks and banners that kpop brings to the fandom. And there were tons of very sweet interactions and moments too. I think it was the Madrid show that had no baricade at all, just a line of tape on the floor and some signs on the front of the stage that said "no touching", yet the ppl at the front just set their stuff down on the line and never crossed it. They also played a song from their 3rd album called Man In The Box that has a lyric "What the..." followed by a cymbal crash, and at every single show the crowd would replace that crash by screaming "What the FUCK" and the band was giggling w/ delight ever time they heard it lol. I saw a post on twitter from someone at the Madrid show who brought her 72 year old dad to the show, who got to sit up in the balcony w/ some XH staff and brought his own lightstick. Just shows you that there's no age limit for loving good music. I think my fav part of watching the vids people were posting was seeing that they got a lot of the crowd to put down their phones and just rock along with them. Don't get me wrong, there were always plenty of people in the crowd recording and I'm grateful that they let me get a glimpse of XH live, but as a longtime metalhead my favorite part of live shows is the energy of the crowd and the feeling that only real instruments with real vocals can give you, and all that is just hard to experience if you've got a little screen between you and the performance. So I'm glad that despite hailing from the world of kpop where like 90% of the audience is always on their phones the whole show, XH managed to hit that crossover sweet spot where they get the enthusiasm and interactivity of kpop (fans at the European shows were giving each other free homemade photo cards and art) mixed with the energy and appreciation for the music of band lovers.

I'm glad you liked their cover of Welcome to the Black Parade, I remember that an online article from one of the alt/rock related magazines (can't remember which one) was made about the cover and that gave it a bit more exposure. So if you go through the comments you'll see a few killjoys/overall fans of the genre complimenting the cover.

The moment they released this cover, I went nuts! This song is so iconic and as expected, Xdinary Heroes are amazing!
